Really awful experience trying to get a product delivered. Ordered because they said they emphasize same-day delivery. Didn't receive anything. Two days after ordering, I got an email confirming delivery. I went downstairs to my locked package room, and didn't find anything. I asked my doorman if he got anything from NYC Pet and he said no.So I emailed the company to let them know the package wasn't delivered. No response. Eventually I called them. First they said, actually the package will be delivered today, almost a week late. Then they call back to say it was delivered, and I should double check. After I doubled checked to confirm that there was no package, I call them back where they say they're not responsible. They say they have proof that the package was given to a doorman, but they can't show me that proof. Eventually I just ended up getting refunded by my credit card company.Bottom line: It's NYC and packages get lost, no big deal. But there's no excuse for the way this company handled it. If you need something delivered, just use Chewy, who have great customer service and comparable prices.

A great local business :) We purchased our regular dog food but found that the dog food company has changed the recipe out of nowhere. Our dog now refused to eat it, so we went back and saw that they still had one bag of the old recipe. NYC Pet was kind enough to just give us the new bag for free so that we had enough to transition our dog to new brand. I highly recommend this store!

I have happily patronized NYC Pet for 14+ years. Although my cats' dietary needs required that I switch to buying vet prescribed food online, I'm happy to support this local business whenever I can. Litter, treats, toys, accessories, etc. - for well-over a decade, NYC Pet has been a reliable and pleasant place to shop.

I’ve been patronizing this store for nearly three years and have literally spent thousands on food, supplies, etc. But no more. Today, when I tried to exchange a shampoo (I had bought cat instead of dog shampoo) they refused saying it was their policy (clearly written at the register, which I never noticed), and they could not return the shampoo to the shelf. It was sealed and clearly unused. Unfortunately, I’m going to buy pet supplies online in the future. I always try to shop local, but policies like this are a real turn-off.

Love this place and the staff are people and animal friendly. Enjoy seeing George when I visit. They have a nice selection of goods foods for your pets and give out samples sometime. The staff keep me coming back. They are awesome young ladies with great personalities and willing to assist you in any way they can if you're not sure of an item/product or are just in need of their services.

NYC Pet is the best pet store in the area! The store is really organized and clean and the staff is so friendly and super helpful. They have everything you will ever need and if they don't, they will order it for you. They even special ordered us a doggy birthday cake! I walk the extra 10 blocks to shop here.

I'm so disappointed. My local pet food shop that I've been with since 1993 has gone corporate. No more calling up and asking for a delivery. Now you have to use a website, schedule a day (not available every day), no conversation about product, no time estimate. Well, I'm really sorry to see them go. So much for shopping locally. Off to Petco. If I'm gonna go corporate, I might as well get the corporate perks. Sad.

Excellent selection of foods, toys, and supplies for both dogs and cats. Prices are pretty reasonable, given the cost of living for the neighborhood. They take credit card, which is an improvement on at least one other pet store in the area. Love this place, it's so nice to have a pet store of this quality nearby.

Love this place. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. They make the shopping experience worthwhile and fun. They are also animal friendly. Great products and plenty of healthy option dog food to select from.

The folks that run this place are always friendly and helpful. If they don't have what I'm looking for, they'll check around their other store locations and have it delivered. Nothing fancy about this place but it's convenient for a wide range of pet food, treats and toys.

This store is run by very friendly folks. We still come here even though we moved a couple neighborhoods over. When we can't make it in person their free delivery service is amazing. This morning they came within 15 minutes of calling! If I ever have to leave this area I'll be sad to leave behind these lovely folks at this wonderful pet store.

Paco at NYC Pet is one of the few remaining decent people in the world. Yesterday, I brought my wife's vacuum cleaner to be serviced at Brooke's which is next door to NYC Pet. Turns out Brooke's is closed Monday - my fault for not knowing this before undertaking the 1 hour journey from UES. Anyway, in my hour of need, I ask Paco at NYC Pet if he would mind taking my vacuum cleaner in and holding it until Tuesday when Brooke's reopened. He smiles, shrugged his shoulders and said something to the effect of 'I will do it. But just letting you know, Brooke's doesn't like it when I do this because many times, customers drop stuff off and they aren't in the Brooke's system so it creates a whole extra hassle.' Anyway, Paco gave me some paper to write my name and telephone on and then taped the note to the vacuum. This morning he faithfully delivered my vacuum to Brooke's. Really can't say how much it means that even in today's fear-driven culture a complete stranger can leave his vacuum with another complete stranger and everything works out. I asked Paco what he wanted for Christmas. Wouldn't tell me. So, I am getting him chocolates and writing this nice review. Will definitely shop there when I am back in the area.
