I walked into the store this past weekend. Nice place, I found what I was looking for. The lady at the register was very nice and helpful, she offer a treat for my doggy. Lilly Rose, my dog is very picky, she did not take it, I did appreciate the gesture. The place is clean and well stocked. Prices are very competitive. The shop is clean and it has a nice smell. Will go back any time.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. They made me wait 1 hour to do an EXCHANGE for an item that didn’t fit my puppy (which I showed them), the sales associate (with a terrible attitude) said she can do an exchange and after 20 minutes, said she can’t do it without a receipt which is absurd considering she is the one who sold it to me in the first place and I’m always shopping there, I purchased the item under my account number and she couldn’t find it which means she clearly never input my number when the purchase was made. The manager had me wait while he checked out every customer first and then made me check my credit card statement to prove I made the purchase, which mind you was only for $29!!!! And I wasn’t even asking for my money back… congratulations- you just lost a lifetime customer that would have spent tens of thousands of dollars a year over $29… terrible business practices , on top of that , he wouldn’t give me a bag to carry my items I exchanged because it cost 25 cents and I didnt have cash … truly disgusting , I look forward to never shopping there again.Everything is completely overpriced anyway !!! Save yourself a headache and $$$ and shop from Petco or Chewy

Lady behind the counter was extremely rude and had an awful attitude. She was obnoxiously discussing politics extremely loudly for the whole store to hear. Seemed intentional. Slammed items and bags around and generally just displayed terrible customer service. On top of that the treats I bought for my dog made him extremely ill so have doubts around product quality. Overall my experience couldn’t have been any worse! In a city with some fantastic pet stores, I’d personally look elsewhere

Awesome pet store that has everything you need! Come here all the time for my dog, and she LOVES it. She always chooses a bone to take home lol but they have toys, really cute leashes, great treats, and large array of food.

I have been going to this store for the past year and want to share my observations. Unfortunately I have to go because it’s the closest store and my dog loves going there so we buy her treats from the store.The staff is NOT at all friendly to customers or pets. I have gone to enough pet stores to compare this. We always purchase something. Food.treats, etc. on average they are more expensive than average pet stores too. But most importantly- they are NOT friendly to us (owners)! when purchasing something (average $10+) my dog is used to getting “treats” from the cashiers in the store. In this store they only give my dog ONE small piece ! My poor dog sits in front of them wanting more but they do NOT give more !!!! They have at least 5 different treat bags behind the counter. Generally the treat suppliers give the stores “sample” bags so it doesn’t cost them anything to give more that one pebble ! And of course the taste is new for my dog so she wants more! Am sorry but our dogs are like our children and wouldn’t you be upset if you went to a candy store with your child and they got ONE M&M ?Their prices on food and other items is WAY too expensive! A bag of food that costs $21 at “Petco” or “Amazon” is sold for $28 - $32!Customers be aware !

I love the customer service here—including small considerations like a nice little ramp for four-legged visitors. I was so happy to find a mini lamb chop squeaker perfectly sized for my tiny pup & a huge variety of soft treats. Staff also kindly introduced me to several other different products. The sweet little Misty was so calm, gentle, & friendly with other visiting dogs—she is a true treasure :)

Purchased a small tennis ball like toy for my dog which fell apart in its mouth in under a 1 minute (small french bulldog). Clearly toys cant be indestructible but I would expect a toy designed for a dog to be more robust and last longer than 1 minute.I took this back to the store but the manager simply shrugged and said they take no responsibility for the products they sell and its not their problem if they are not fit for purpose or faulty.Rest assured I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on, as clearly this is a business who cares little for its reputation or customers.

Came to store to try out some new food for my 14 year old cat who has kidney disease and hasn’t eaten in days. They were very kind to me and even threw in a few extra items for free in hopes to finally get my kitty to eat something. Very thankful for their help and kindness during this difficult period.

Horrible customer service (store manager Sean). Bought an $18 dog toy upon the recommendation of the staff, quoted as being very tough and "indestructible." The toy was defective and my 25lb cockerspaniel destroyed it in one day. The store manager would not accept a return or exchange. He also had no inclination of reaching out to the distributor or toy company to report the issue.Unfortunate, as the store otherwise has a good selection of food, treats, and pet supplies.

A GREAT small local pet supply store! They have almost any and everything you can imagine for your 4 legged family member. Customer service and knowledge about the products that are present in the store are exceptional. Great job guys!!

Absolutely unacceptable and inhospitable behavior by Sam. I walked in without a mask, fully prepared to ask for one at the door because I respect a businesses wish. I walked in, Sam did not greet me or say hello but rather pointed to her face and said “mask!” I explained I needed a surgical mask and she slammed her iPad on the counter and aggressively handed me one. Needless to say I did spend my money at this location. When I called back asking who she reported to she refused to give me an email or a name of her manager. I doubt she is the owner of the business so that is unacceptable as well. I live right around the corner and you’ve lost a frequent customer due to her disgustingly inhospitable way of communicating. I wish zero star was an option.

NYC Pet has a great selection of pet food, toys, treats and other pet related items (leashes, collars, etc.) The facility is incredibly clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They often will give you free samples of treats and foods if you are testing them out with your dog. They gave me free bully-sticks and swirls.

BEWARE - DANGEROUS FOR PETS - DOG ENDED UP IN HOSPITALOne of the employees here claimed to have taken a "special class on dog nutrition" and advised me a type of food while insisting that my puppy didn't need to transition. She claimed veterinarians didn't know how to do their job and she knew better than them. I followed her advice and ended up having to take my puppy to the emergency clinic because he had a lot of blood in his stool. This whole thing costed me 400$.Also, they will not take back any of the defective products they sell here. I purchased a harness and toys and everything came apart within hours of leaving the store. The same employee who sold me the food that led my dog to the hospital had an unacceptable behavior and refused to refund me for the defective items she sold me.I tried to reach the owner of this store but was left without a reply.I would strongly advise against purchasing anything for that store, nor listening to the employees there (for the sake of your pets).

A week ago I purchased a leash here and immediately used it to walk my dog (he is 10lbs and not a huge puller) a few blocks down Kent St. to my next destination. About 5 minutes after purchasing the leash, as we were walking down Kent, I noticed that the leash felt lighter, looked down, and was horrified to see that the metal clasp had completely come off of the leash, and my dog was free on the sidewalk. To note, Kent is a busy street with lots of cars and bikes and pedestrians, and if he had been spooked by something or excited by something and ran off he could have easily been killed. Luckily I quickly picked him up and carried him the rest of the way. First off it's super disappointing that this store would carry such low quality materials (at not a low price by the way). Secondly, when I went to return the leash today (with my receipt and all the original packing as well as the broken leash) they said it WAS AGAINST STORE POLICY to accept the return. If anything they should have given me a voucher for selling me something that almost killed my dog, but I would have been fine with a refund. I think this is a disgrace and I will never shop here again, and if you'd like your pets to remain safe I'd advise that you don't either.

I went in to purchase treats and toys for my 3 dogs. I had about $150. worth of items on the counter. Then I asked the cashier for a large choker collar for my dog. He is a boxer pit bull mix and pulls very hard. She said she needed the name of my trainer in order to sell it to me. I don't have a trainer as my dog is 10 years old. (I left his collar in Long Island). She said that she couldn't sell it to me as that was STORE POLICY. I left everything on the counter and walked out. I went to the other pet store 2 blocks North. I will not be shopping in this store any longer. Very disappointing!!

Give your $$ smaller companies in the area who treat their customers well like PS9. Bought my dog boots ($60) here that he wouldn’t even put on. Not worn and they refused to take them back OR give store credit. Said there’s some made up NY policy about footwear. THERES NO POLICY. They can’t even reference the policy when asked in person or over the phone. Other businesses (local and online) allow returns.

I’m giving this place five stars because of that ridiculous person that gave it one for only giving her dog one treat. They don’t have to give your dog anything. If you’re so concerned about your dog wanting another treat, then buy a bag and stop being a whiner. They’re in business to make money, not give it away.

Staff never asked if we needed help when we were in store. They saw we have a puppy & didnt ask if we needed help finding anything for the dog. I ended up getting dental treats that he doesnt need cause of baby teeth . Over priced products. Will not return .

They have a little bit of most everything for pets and their prices are pretty good. Usually someone is walking their dog around as well - gives it a nice family feel. 😊
