Much pricy unless they offer a discount, low quality meat, small fresh fish selection, many items without price or labels misplaced. Most staff refilling the shelves don't speak English so useless if you need help. Expensive fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, etc.

Asked for if there were anymore blueberries, and was told no. Asked for a rain check was told they are not special priced but are $2.99 all the time. I will be back and if it is any different I expect to speak to a manager.

Not a bad market. Decent options (even some gluten free pasta). Great seasoning. Sometimes good sales. Produce can go bad quicker than some other places ive shopped at. Its in a good location though and has a parking lot.

A beautiful grocery store with lots of food options even for vegan diets, though they are lacking more variety of options when it comes to those who need to eat gluten free. Their produce is always full of fresh fruits and veggies and the staff are all very friendly.Bike parking is a little tricky as there isn't any official racks nearby yet.

This is a prime location in the neighborhood of office home with renters. So this place can save a lot of gas ⛽️ at this time. I only made a small purchase but from the time I walked in the doors the refrigerator was stacked, fruits and vegetables stands was heavy. Deli looks appropriate. All these things I seen from walking in the door any more I would be exaggerating. Early bird catches the worm.

Small market with a deli, fish market, pharmacy, lotto. On site parking. U haul rental too. Been around for a long time. Latino/Caribbean roots. Overall it's ok. You can find good items and decent sales here. At times fruit & other items are pricey. Sale prices don't always ring up as displayed but they'll adjust it. You may find an expired or spoiling item on occassion. Keep your receipt, staff is cool & will work with you.

The produce in the supermarket are very organized and the space is quite clean, things are clearly labeled. Most important, the staff is attentive and friendly. It's so awesome to see a variety of organic foods. Love it

Great fresh vegetables and fruits! Very good meat section as well. All cashiers and stock staff are courteous and knowledgeable about food products. I was shopping here for a couple of years while in the neighborhood. I moved, but travel to continue shopping here.Great variety!

I love the various ethnic food they have stocked. The place is nice and clean, staff are friendly. However I would advise you to check expiration dates due to the fact that I came across a few items that was still out for purchase past its date.

I am really trying not to be so critical about this store. It has made a tremendous turnaround from say, a few years ago, it was substandard in the worst case...the turnaround? Total renovation, well stock shelves, fresher meats ( slight increase in varieties) depending on what day of week you may see more people working on the floors, as it is, this can make or break a store, any store, when customers comes in and there's no one to assist them, it's like, whoa! Where's everyone, no one here to help me? You gotta be kidding me!Well at this Ideal there's been a tremendous improvement in their overall performance. Now the not so favorite part, as it is every where you shop, management can make or break a business, if management is aloof and non-professional, verbal skills are lacking, usually the rest of the team is the same way, and the reception at the cash register? Way too non-professional, no reaching out, no warmth nor how are you today? Did you find what you were looking for? You know if you want to get a better deal on this product, come back on Thursday...none of the " glad to see you today " . I guess you get where I am coming from.

Clean Supermarket..convenient location..moderately priced but can be expensive when not buying sale items-Mostly friendly staff. One cashier is clueless her name is Johanny..she never ever knows anything. And seems to be irritated because she doesn't know. I refuse to go back to her to check me out i would rather wait on line. She is the reason they got four stars.

The only food market in the area which leaves them resting on their laurels- they don’t have to try hard, there’s no competition for them. Anyway, it always smells rancid when you come in. It looks clean for the most part, but I think there is this weird smell from the fish and meat- which I will not buy, who knows how clean it is back there. Prices are just okay- for the local Latin and West Indian customers, there is plenty- but nothing top of the line or fancy here, gourmet enthusiasts like myself who are moving into the area don’t have a lot of variety - if there is, it cost $$$ and doesn’t last long on the shelves. Still, I’m glad it’s there, everyone who works there is very nice, most don’t speak English well, if at all. A very cultural local market. Glad they extended the hours and love the music! Need to work on better fresher produce, looks a little beaten up and often rotted, better thicker cuts of meet, more variety in frozen foods. The fish guy is great, wish he sold more variety and lobster, again - no ones buying it I guess.

Ideal supermarket has got to be the best supermarket around... the prices regularly are what are sale prices are in other stores...they serve food that is cooked in the deli including whole rotisserie chickens priced at $6.00... you cannot beat that...the cashiers always have smiles for you ask how you day was and if you can't find something you want they are willing to go in the aisles and show you where it is even if it means holding up the line....they have lotto western union and plenty of parking...i go in there at least once a day even if I'm not getting anything in particular....my favorite supermarket in the world

I love this supermarket. It's easy to access from the main road plus there is a parking lot. This makes stopping off when I am driving an easy first choice.

Ideal Food Basket of Brooklyn Ave has done a fantastic job on remodeling, & stocking a variety of foods & brands. It's just a shame that the upgrades didn't come until the area has gentrified, POC like & appreciate nice things as well.

It's convenient for me since I live near. But watch the prices! They are price gouging on the milk. You can get the Horizon organic milk for $4.69 at Target and $5.99 at Key foods, but it costs $6.99 at Ideal Food Basket. At one time, their pricing was as good as Target.

Disgusting. Produce is dirty and scrapped up. Fish department is pitiful. The meat looks decent untilyou bring it home you ...it looks like they found it as it is discolored . I seen a male employee blow his nose in his hands twice and wipe it on his clothes. The prices are wrong. Also majority of their stuff expires in 6months or less (Especially the cereal ) . This place needs to be closed down .Eat at your own risk . There is too many violations for this to be a supermarket .

There are always, I repeat, always expired things here on shelves and in freezers. Stopped shopping here for one of those reasons. Please check your expiration dates on your items first. Also, every time I buy chicken here it smells horrible. They love to disguise good looking meat over the bad ones and you wont know till you get home and open the package. They do not sell real Perdue chicken. It is just a sticker they put on the front. Check your other real Perdue items and compare to their own. Majority Spanish people in a majority black community and not one black person works there. They are quite discriminatory in their hiring practices. On the plus side, they usually have a good deal on oxtail and pork chops.

Please check the expiration date on your items. I've had molded bread (pita bread and naan) purchased for me on two occasions and I have purchased expired jars of baby food for both of my daughters (back in 2008-2009 and then 2017-2018). Ridiculous!

The meat is frozen and purple. Vegetables are always on the floor. Bananas are never ever ripe. Only good thing is the hot Spanish broads that work there.
