I regret to inform you that I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Family Dollar store located at 887 E New York Ave in Brooklyn, NY. Upon entering the store, I felt uncomfortable as an employee, whom I believe to be of Indian descent, closely followed me, creating an atmosphere that suggested mistrust.Despite making a purchase totaling $177.00 and proceeding to the exit, the same employee left her position behind the cash register and stood behind me at the door while my husband retrieved our items from the cart. This behavior was unsettling and has led me to report this incident to corporate to address the subpar customer service at this establishment.In light of these events, I am contemplating legal action and intend to request footage from the store. I have already taken photographs as evidence of evidence that was very unacceptable conduct by a particular staff member.Specially the Indian girl and her trashy behaviorAdditionally, while in the aisles, another employee, a woman of African descent, encroached upon my personal space, making me feel uneasy. Given that my family frequents this store for weekly shopping, I am compelled to ensure that they no longer patronize this location.I am committed to making others aware of the unfortunate experiences I encountered at this Family Dollar store, and I strongly advise against supporting this establishment, as it appears to harbor prejudiced behavior, especially towards individuals of diverse backgrounds. Despite having returned all items purchased for $177.00, I am disgusted by the ordeal that these two incompetent individuals working at this store displayed if I was the owner from this store and found out about this behavior I would fire them immediately because they are definitely liability and need to be retrain. Wish I could give zero starsThis place should be boycottAnd no one should go there And I definitely intend on speaking out against this place

The store was very clean and organized everything in it's place and the people who worked there were very courteous and polite.. the prices were extremely low so I bought 2 of everything that I purchased...what go to me most of all was alot of the candy that I ate as a child was still in existence and what a pleasure that was to see...brought back alot of childhood memories for me thank you Family Dollar

Please corporate do something with this location!!major Reno needed and revamp needed!!!!! Restock overhaul, shelves are rusty and sticky and terrible, freezer is a mess and unorganized, floor needs buffing, and throw in an electrician, register tech and some bags pleasetotal overhaul!!! Put me on payroll I will help you out.

I went inside that store today the manager a bald headed man told me to put my bad down I had a hijab and so did my friend but the rest of the friends weren’t told that. As soon as I go he starts telling us to get out because it was a group of us we hadn’t even done anything he threatens to call police etc. also we were all black he asked us where our dads were I guess to be racist and funny but he was black too so we were confused and he always kicking us out for no reason. If I stole sum I’d understand but I didn’t so I don’t understand

They kicked me and my friends out for no reason when I told them I was just going to buy something and I showed them my money and they were being racist to my friend in a hijab and the family dollar is right by our school you have to expect kids to go there. And the lady in box braids said she’ll get her 3 daughter to beat us up if we came back and the bald guy was threatening us and being rude and asking us were our dad is because we’re black I really just wanted to buy candy for me and my friends I had a horrible experience

Always good prices. BUT... As of the last few months. They constantly and i mean every week run out of the thin paper that don't have handles. I almost think it's a joke that out of the last 5 times that i have gone there they have no bags. At this point i just try to bring bags with me. No impulse shopping at that location. I think it's so annoying that i will knock my stars from 4 to 1.This isn't an issue that should happen so often.

Idk if it's overall family dollar stores or this location or covid so less items.. there is empty shelves everytime I go here.. no tissues, toothpaste.. I only come when they have stocked toilet paper and paper towel. Last time I went they didn't have any shopping bags and so I had to buy garbage bags from the shelf to carry the several items of toilet paper.. honestly it looks like the employees don't like working there cuz the management isn't good. Seriously fix up this place!! I'm gonna try the other family dollar location to see if it's the same otherwise I'll shop elsewhere..

1 star . Kicked me and my friends out without context as soon as we entered.also a black cashier was saying how she was going to get her daughters on us because we wanted a reason on why we were getting kicked out

This family dollar store isn't as stocked as the Family dollar on the corner of Lefferts and Kingston ave. Not to mention the prices tend to be slightly more expensive on some products than the one Lefferts and Kingston ave. There is one worker there who I think is a manager and she always has a attitude like she dont want to be bothered. Other than that it is the same products you would expect to find at other Family dollar stores. If you need to pick up a few items in a tightthis store may get the job done but it's not high up on my "goto list".

I wish that family dollar as a company had SELF check out. This location specifically. If they did, they would get 5 stars from me. Until then, the service needs to improve . The employees always have a dead look on their faces , never says welcome, how can I help you , or even thank you for coming. It's just NEXT! IT'S 2017 , raise your emplyee standards and I'll raise my rating . Service is everything. If this wasn't conveniently placed on my route home I would not come back.

Lord it's funny that I was asked to rate this store as events happened in there today. Two women assaulted the clerk as he caught them stealing and leaving the store. As I watched the whole situation unfold I was shocked as to how these two women were defending themselves as if they were paying customers. I am happy to say that one of the women were caught after dropping her phone during the altercation and she stupidly returned to retrieve it as the police were still doing their investigation. On another note the staff there was very helpful with assisting me find what I needed. ***I hope the other woman gets caught and they bury them under the jail.*** This is why we have inflation on our everyday basic neccessaties and why we can't have nice stores in our communities.

I liked this location. Their products were well stocked from cleaning supplies and snacks to summer toys and cloths.The staff was great and very helpful. A true pleasure

Absolutely THE WORST Family Dollar I have ever been to. I've been here a few times, and every time I go in - I wonder why?! I always hear the "manager" talking about theft and I wonder why?! There are NO employees in this store to curb theft. I asked a young lady for help n she points n tells me "3 aisles over" -___- GREAT customer service - THANKS!Now when it came time to pay, the same "manager" & employee I asked for help are busy putting out balloons - mind you, it's Thursday afternoon...WTH are u doing putting out balloons and you have customers waiting to pay?? The one girl at the register was busy chatting away on the phone & I'm like seriously?? Asking some1 if they want to hang out tomorrow evening & who she can get to watch her kid blah blah blah...why didn't the "manager" tell her to get off the phone is beyond me. I just had to drop my things and leave. NEVER AGAIN! This Family Dollar needs new management, employees, a whole new facelift smh - don't go here unless you have time to waste smh 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back...25 now that I sat here writing this review, but it was necessary! Avoid this Family Dollar at ALL costs!

On Church Avenue there is no Family Dollar Church Avenue in Brooklyn if I'm at my other apartment which my husband stayed before he passed 80 Lenox Road there is no Family Dollar I have to come way to Crown Heights to shop at Family Dollar

It's small and a little bit disorganized, but the prices are great. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. Like many places in NYC, there's no parking lot.
