I went in to buy a basking lamp for my turtle - it was double the price I usually pay and only worked for two days. when I came back to exchange it - I was given a firm shoulder shrug. Now I’m out 40 bucks for a dead lightbulb. This place might be good for dog owners but not if you have aquatic pets or otherwise.

This frisbee was hanging high up on the wall and the first on the rack. Please don’t buy things here

Horrible pet store. I went in today and it smelled awful and there were bags of food all over the floor. I wanted to buy some cat litter but walked out when I saw that the kind I usually get was listed as $11.99 when it’s only $5.99 on Chewy! I’m happy to spend more money at a local businesses vs online but that’s just price gouging. I also have seen expired pet food on the shelves so beware.

If I could give them less than 1 star I absolutely would. Owner is EXTREMELY unpleasant and rude. You can tell he profiles his customers because he kept patrolling me at the entrance despite clearly telling him I was just looking.I went in and hoped to buy my cat a KONG refillable catnip toy and found that it was priced at $15, when the usual price ranges from $3-4. When confronted, the owner patronized me and badgered me out of his business, accusing me of trying to rip-off a small business, and suggested that if I wanted the product so badly I should just go online and stop bothering him. When I attempted to hand him the catnip toy I was no longer buying, he looked at me and said “I’m not the one that took it. It doesn’t go there. You pick it up you put it back.” I placed it down on the counter and he followed me out threatening me to out the toy back where it belongs. Would rather get hit by a bus than go back here.

Sorry I have to agree with everybody else. The dog food I usually pay 22 dollars for Was 31 at this place. Then when you get to the register you see the it's cash only.. Everything is already marked up 30% Why can't they cover the 3% credit card fee. Honestly if the guy just cleaned it up a little bit And accepted credit cards People would probably put up with the higher prices Four convenience.

Rip off. I wish I had read the reviews before going in. I needed a pumpkin purée for which I normally pay around $1.99-$2.99 in Manhattan for a 2.8 ounce package - this guy charged me $7.99. Tried to make an excuse about it being organic but it’s the same brand I always buy. I would have skipped it if my dog didn’t have an upset tummy. Avoid if you can

It seems it's established that the prices here are exorbitantly high (the same food I buy at NYC Pet three blocks away was $7 more here!) and the owner is rude and unwelcoming.I, a young Black woman, asked to get something out of the freezer (there was a sign saying to ask an employee for help) and in response the owner asked a middle-aged white male **customer** who was standing on line to help me. The other customer and I were confused/uncomfortable and so I said, "I know what I want can I just get it?" No response. After the other customer opened the freezer for me he asked the owner why he did that to which the owner explained he doesn't "trust everyone," and went on to explain that some people just stand with the freezer open and don't close it fully, but with "some people I know they won't do that."It was a very uncomfortable, at best, and hostile, at worse, experience to have. Whatever the owners intentions were, for him to have asked a customer he "trusted more" to open the freezer and not apologize later, it was not ok. Avoid at all costs!

The math never adds up at this place and when confronted the owner gets very defensive and rude. Also the dry cat food I bought today expired a month ago. Never again. What a shame.

Owner has horrific customer service, but younger employees are at least nice. The older man who works there sold me booties for my dog that I didn't realize were falling apart until I got home. He refused to refund me, and issued me a store credit that he then didn't allow me to use 2 weeks later! A lot of people in the neighborhood think its a front for a money laundering scheme. That man is nasty, and I'd avoid this place at all costs. They also overcharge for EVERYTHING. $19.98 for 3 tennis balls? $78 for a bag of food that is $45 on Chewy? I'd prefer to support a local business but not this one. I've never had someone speak to me so rudely for no reason like him.

A scam. Has cheap treats laying on the floor right by the register where your dog can grab a treat if not looking while paying. Then he charges 10$ for a treat that can’t be worth more than 50 cents. Will never go back.

So I bought a cage from there. I couldn't use it, so I tried to return it the very next day. But that didn't matter, that guy was trying to say that because of covid he takes no returns. And the receipt doesn't matter. The cage was $45 and it was pretty a pretty cheap cage for that price. Anyway I managed to get him to just give me back $30 at least. I was not leaving empty-handed off of a $45 cage I couldn't use. Also he leaves dog treats on the floor in front of the store so he can claim your dog stole a treat if they eat them. Bad spot, don't shop there unless it's a last resort.

Buyer beware!! Owner is really shady (as all these reviews state). We needed to grab a bully stick so we can dine outdoors. The label said $12.99 and in a box labeled $12.99. The owner rang up $16.99 and argued we got it from a different box, EVEN THOUGH THE PRODUCT HAD ITS OWN PRICE STICKER. Save you anxiety and shop else where.

The best pet store! The owner, Chris, is the nicest, most generous guy. He is incredibly helpful and is always giving my dog lots of treats.

Pay attention when checking out. I was overcharged about $5 for cans of fancy feast. When i asked the cashier about individual prices rather than tell me how much each item was he became very defensive and gave me back my money. He also would only take cash for $13 worth of items. No sign that said there was a minimum credit card purchase. I think the cashier has a shady side hustle.

I bought a very basic hamster cage for much more than it was worth at this store.3 weeks later I tried to return it, in unused condition, and asked for store credit or refund. Owner said they have no return policy and blamed covid. I asked if I could just give it back to them instead of throwing it out, and he still wouldn't accept it. As I was walking out of the store to the corner trash can, he finally said I could put it in the box in front of the store. I suspect he might try to resell it despite what he said, but I'm glad that at least I didn't have to throw it in the trash.

Horrible customer service and we will never go back. My husband and I walked into this store hoping to check out their raw food meals. We are prepping for a pup due to come home in a few days. We opened the fridge in the back to read the ingredients of the packages. But we didn’t purchase anything as our pup had not arrived yet. As we were leaving, the man at the register started to berate us for opening the fridge. Questioning us for why we had to open the fridge. Terrible attitude. We will never come back her for our dogs supplies ever again.

Giving this place one star hurts my soul as I was really happy to support a local shop, but this store owner has treated us horribly on numerous occasions. I was yelled at to hurry up when he thought customers were waiting out side (there weren’t) and I was clearly spending A Lot of money at his store (things cost double here compared to Petco, but again, supporting local). I was flustered and quickly purchased a leash and a gel for my dog amongst other things. The gel ended up being the wrong thing for her, after he convinced me it was what we needed (we needed a lubricant for her digestive system and he gave us a vitamin gel for $18). The leash $30 ended up not working for our dog when I got home. My husband tried returning the leash today and he was actively shouted at that there are no returns. It’s really sad to be treated so horribly at a local community spot. I hope things can turn around here, but sadly I won’t be there to see it as he’s just lost a customer.

First off, everything in here is highly inflated prices for very old, nearly expired products . Literally the bodega two blocks down has the same can of dog food for $3 when he is selling it for $9 and I'm pretty sure the bodega's can is newer. That alone should get you to skip this shoddily run business. The larger and more concerning issue is the owner's relationship with the community. He has referred to my Korean Girlfriend as a "chinaman" on more than one occasion. He also openly discriminates against our black neighbors and his own customers.Don't shop here. Don't support divisive businesses. On top of that, the owner refuses to wear a mask in his cramped, crowded and cluttered store so enter at your own risk.

The shop owner is rude and over charges. He doesn’t label the products and if you try to point out that he is charging a high rate and show him the going rate he yells at you. Would not recommend. Try Acme on Vanderbilt if you want friendly service.

I have been using this store to order Blue Buffalo dog food for 3 years since I moved to Brooklyn.Delivery is free and always convenient for me.My dog loves this store and always takes extra long sniffs when she walks by.

ABC's shelves are always fully stocked and the friendly staff always helpful (if not always smiling). They will deliver quickly and stay open a little later for you. Basically, a great neighborhood pet store. The cats, while not necessarily warm and greeting, won't attack my dog. So that's a plus!

Prices are too high and the customer service is appalling. Asked about the prices of two products (because no prices were listed on the shelves) and the man behind the counter gave me a lot of attitude. Told me to buy something or leave. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. No one should give this place business.

They don’t let you buy anything here with a card for under $20. The most absurd Lehigh amount I’ve ever seen.

Terrible service! Buyer beware, they do not abide by their posted policies! I even checked with the employee I purchased from when I made my purchase, but the person in 3 days later refused to abide by their posted signage OR the other employees word. Absolutely no empathy - avoid at all costs.

So I looked on yelp so I could review this place based solely on the dude behind the counters' recommendation. We wanted a cat toy that our finnicky kitty will play with, and the guy said people love this one: cat dancer original.I gotta say, ive never had a recommendation this good....for anything. She's OBSESSED with it. Will be back for some local recs and supplies.

I wanted to become a new customer, but a can of Merrick for cats ($1.49) plus a can of Blue Wilderness (promotion as $1.39) came up to a $4.40 bill, and no purchase receipt. I was not in the mood of fighting and going through the narrow and busy aisle again, paid and left, but never coming back.
