These guys at the shelter are AWESOME! So much love. I know the animals in this shelter are loved and well taken care of. I adopted a dog, Summer from there and she was so happy with them. Thanks to them, I was rescued by Summer.

Recently we had been left with a hole in our hearts with the passing of our beloved Tortie named Fudge.In order to make that hurt mend, we decided to head on over to our local shelter where there are many beautiful animals seeking out their forever home.Upon entering the shelter we were greeted by the receptionist who was kind, and quite frankly caring.After a short wait we met Katelyn who brought us back to the cat room. We were impressed by her knowledge and caring demeanor. She’s a true accent to the shelter.We walked to the room, I took a deep breath as the door opened up and from across the room, straight ahead was the most beautiful little Tortie with her paws outstretched. It was if she was put there by the Lord.It didn’t take us long to realize how special this little girl was and that she could become part of our family.We completed the paperwork, provided my identification, hubby went out to the Jeep and brought in her carrier. She now has her forever home she dreamed about.Thank you Brookhaven Animal Shelter for saving this little girl and bringing her to us.

Myself and my mom adopted Buster today. Sadly owner surrender, but what a great guy is he. I received a goodie bags and what an affordable adoption fee. So much less than the rescue organizations ask for. Give your county animal shelter a chance. Buster is shy but loves to play. Even though he is considered a senior at 7 years young he still has lots of pep in his step.

Not good at all you have to fill out applications before you get to see a dog I couldn't just browse to see which one bonded with me also all applications not on file so Every time you look have to fill it out One of those dogs didn't get a home because of that

Updated on 8.14.21Three years later and we are so grateful for Brookhaven Animal Shelter. We ended up returning there and adopted another beautiful kitten two months after we adopted Kimber. Maggie and Kimber are wonderful cats. No regrets!Original Review: I adopted our kitten from here, and I was amazed by what a wonderful job their foster families do with socializing them. Kimber is a perfect addition to our family. She is very playful, yet sweet and cuddly too. I also was impressed by the devotion the staff and volunteers have to all the animals in their care.

I have been waiting to adopt a dog over a month now. I have gone many times to the shelter asking if they have gotten my application, asking if I could just see the dogs right there but they wouldn’t let me my mom is finally letting my get a dog and this animal shelter is not letting me get one don’t go here if your looking to adopt a dog or any sort of animal.

I found my kitten on june 18th she was only 6weeks old she looked at me i her I knew she wannted to come home with me we have a great relateship we are together all the time i lost my dog and cat for many yrs she fill my heart again still i am disable little money brookhaven gave me a bless new family member again thought a very great firend that help me thank you brookhaven animal shelter for haveing a best friend with no money god bless you The staff are very kind care about the animal they follow with a call to make sure the animal is doing well and you the place was very nice help with and questions you need to help fine the best pet you need. i hope they do that promotion again for people that love pets but just dont have lots of money. it not far if you dont have the 100s to buy apet when they so many that need loveing family and love. thank you again brookhaven her name is babybellagina she wants to say moewso mush thanks for giveing me a home im aspoil a lot update 4/27/18 babybellagina will be a yr old in may but got her in june we still very happy together she soooo spoiled my me and her grandmother we love soo mush she growing up in her owe personality update photo thank you again brookhaven

This place always has a soft spot for me. But yesterday I went to dropp off blankets for the dogs and I saw all the donations but they were in the hall and outside. I think they should have taken the donations in and not left them outside. It gives a bad impression that people are not thankful.It looked so bad that I did not want to take pictures. I hope someone reads this and corrects that set up for donations.

Today we brought home our newest member of the family Jasper ! We had a very pleasant experience yesterday and today. All staff was friendly and very informative. They are very thourough with the process which we liked a lot they truly love their animals and want them to go to the best home. All the animals cages were very clean and set up very nice. All the animals looked healthy. Thank you !!

Why do you have the luxury of benefiting from the tax payers and not do your job! The smell of the dead animal is perforated thru our community. We need animal pick up immediately it’s been a week!!!! You are contracted to provide this service!! We pay you for this!!!! Shame on you

Amazing experience! We have had our two new cats for almost two months now. They gave us a very nice tour, were patient and kind, and low prices. For two cats just $40 to be chipped as well. We got a 7 month old and a two year old who are amazing. What an amazing place would extremely highly recommend. They call to check on how your doing with your animal, extremely caring, knowledgeable and competent staff. Thanks so much!!

I've adopted two cats from this animal shelter on separate occasions. Staff is very friendly and the place is pretty clean. I love that each time we adopted, they gave us all the paperwork for their medical history, procedures, and vaccinations. They also gave us a list of vets that I could take them too in case something happened a day or two after I adopted them. They were very informative and thorough about the cat's care and needs.

Good Samaritan found lost dog and took her there. So grateful. I recommend everyone get their furry friends chipped. Staff was quick to call and I was reunited. Arf, another great organization, was on site spaying cats. Nice, compassionate people!!!!

Great animal shelter I went years ago and adopted 2 kittens beautiful well taken care of and brought me a lot of happiness 😊 the brookhaven animal shelter is clean sanitary and all the staff are very passionate about the welfare of each dog cat you name it. I was amazed at the second kitten I adopted I had to go back the next day and get her medicine the vet was very concerned 🐈 adopt kittens are so much fun to care for.. And dogs to but I'm a, cat guy.

Easy to adopt kittens just have a photo id and the correct amount of money this time of year they are grateful to get rid of the cats it's the season everywhere you go you see cats kittens 😂

Awesome staff, awesome program, they help participate in the local TNR efforts (Trap Neuter Release for feral cats). They are pretty great about adoptions and taking care of their animals. They also are of great moral character, a lady came in wanting to put down her four year old healthy cat just because she was moving O.o. I believe they convinced her to surrender the cat. Crazy.

My neighbor in my complex found my dog and brought him here. Unfortunately i don't have his vax papers which i understand means they have to give him his shots before he leaves. What I DO NOT understand is how an employee can refuse to even show me the dog is in the building and on top of that tell me on a friday that i have to wait until monday. Oh but not to come in on monday either!! To wait for a phone call from the insanely rude front counter lady who clearly isn’t that fond of dogs which is sad because she works at a shelter. Ill be telling everyone i know to avoid this place. Such a shame that one front counter person can ruin the integrity of an entire buisness.

Just picked up a kitten for my wife. The staff was very helpful and made the process smooth and enjoyable. There are a lot of great animals that need a home. The initial cost is not that high either. Kitten out the door was $125; tagged, chipped and neutered.
