A small pet supply store...in South Bronx, where you can get pet supplies, grooming and purchase pets eg..puppies, fish, birds, guinea pigs .. the staff is very hospitable and are eager to assist...They also offer a payment plan when purchasing puppies 🐶

Great expirence. I was able to go in and have my puppy receive a face, and fanny trim and her nails. They really listened to me, provided me with useful information, and informed me about the vaccines and their times and dates for grooming. Even called me when she was ready for pick up. Great service great price will be returning.

I visited this store recently for my little betta fish. The lady there (Sorry that I forgot her name, but I think it was Marlene) gave me some really helpful advice, and pointed me to the right direction to get what I needed to for my fish. Instead of trying to make a sale by selling me something I didn’t need, her emphasis was on the well-being of my little betta (which actually was pretty sick). I was not a local in the area, and wasn’t sure where I should’ve gone for what I needed specifically for my fish’s situation. Anyway, long story short, I appreciated the kindness and thoughtfulness of the kind store lady. I’m pretty sure her attitude reflected on the attitude of the store/business owner towards their customers. So please, if you’re in the area, give these guys your business. They care about the ones they serve, i.e., our little pets. And if not for any other reason, go to see their beautiful cat that sits perched on the counter of the checkout desk. It’s a great little store and I’m really glad I had stopped by there. I chose to leave this review out of sheer appreciation for how I was treated there.

Easily the best pet shop in the Bronx. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Their services are excellent. Their prices are fair. They aim to help keep your pet(s) happy and healthy. They have trained veterinary/grooming staff on site. They also have animal rescuers on call. I would definitely recommend this pet shop to anyone as the first place to go to for any of your pet supplies/concerns. 10/10!!!

They did have the proper product for any pet needs but the advice the store clerk gives just becareful lolHad someone tell me it was alright to put flea medicine on a 2 month yewr old puppy and when explaining to them lol they told me "it wont do anything, ha ha, they just say that"Well lol thank god i just got a flea comb

I just visited and so bad that this place is still open..the dogs they need to see a veterinarian some looks sick specifically the puppies and the ones 3 months are left without water for hours, no AC and is too hot that store. They have plenty animal imaging the others that they have..I will not recommend anyone to buy a pet from them too expensive and they don't care about the animals

First thank you for being an essential establishment, our pups needs essentials as much as we do. Customer service here is always great. The groomer is amazing at what she do . She’s so creative , experienced and professional compared to big franchise groomers. I will definitely continue to trust R and K with our fur babies.

The first time entering this pet i was greeted with very friendly service. Asked me if i needed any help and wasn't watching me like a was gonna steal something...lol...The prices are decent and they have a nice amount of accessories for your pets, etc. I would most definitely be telling others that this is a very good and very friendly Pet shop. You know it's a good place when you can walk out feeling happy and comfortable about the experience you just had.

The staff is very knowledgeable in regards of animal health. My dog Timon in which I adopted from a shelter contracted Kennel Cough. The shelter denied all allegations of the Kennel Cough Virus existence within their facilities and any treatment for it. They only gave me a voucher which pays for the first check up in a veterinary clinic. Worst experience there, the vets were no help and I smelled a rat. They were trying to exceed pass what the voucher was paying for. I honestly thought I was going to lose my dog. He wasn’t eating, drinking, and had nothing but a depressed face. I went to R&K pet shop where I told the owner my experience. He quickly reacted and gave my dog a vaccine along with vitamins that will help him gain his old weight back. It took a couple weeks for my Timon to get back to his old playful self but I couldn’t thank the owner enough. Best pet shop service around.

Bad shop. Cleanliness is not there had roaches in the mice tank. Tend to close earlier than always anticipated which sucks. Customer service is decent but tend to pay different prices for what I’m purchasing when I do go to get the same thing every time 👎

Another neighborhood pet store where everyone knows everyone. Fishes a bit pricey. In Love with their birds. I bought my kitten their... He's a handful but loved the package deal..he came with litter/litterbox and food. Have food for snakes, bearded dragons, and a variety of pet food selections. Staff is always courteous and friendly. Carlos is a very genuine person, this Shop is also very genuine itself. It brings the animal loving community together. Every time I go I take my time observing the habitats of the animals while feeling the atmosphere of the store. I can hear the birds, I can hear the customers and it's always peaceful. I admit maybe the store can use one staff member maybe to assist the cashier but other then that they definitely have everything under control. I once brought in baby Sparrow I found in the street and decided to save, Carlos helped me saved him for free, with the proper food and bedding. He helped me save a hamster I had that got attacked, provided me with medication and all. Then a baby pitbull... this Pet Shop is needed here, they're not here for the money, they're here trying to find them homes. They love animals just as much as we do. I recommend R&K pet shop ever since I've been there thank you Carlos and Team 💪

Very nice and friendly staff but some animals are deffinitely sick. Be very careful buying pets from here. 2 relatives of mine bought 2 kittens here in the same day. One had to rush the kitten to the hospital the same night. The Vet said it was very malnourished and dehydrated. She got stuck with a pricey vet bill. And the other had to take the kitten right back to the shop. It had an eye infection diarrhea and vomiting. The store owner Insisted that the kittens were fine. It was very obvious they were very sick. They were way too skinny and weak!

This shop is truly unprofessional. They care more about getting money than grooming dogs properly. I specifically told the lady who attended me to not groom my dog so low, and when I finally got my dog, I see that they had groomed him the way I specifically told them not to.I believe that the groomer mistreats the dogs because my dog comes out of there acting super aggressive, which is unlike his character. They also do not allow you to see your dog while he/she is being groomed, which is never a good sign. I will definitely NOT be returning!And to those who want to groom their dogs at this pet shop, DO NOT go on the day they have specials (Tuesdays) because they care more about the money than caring for the dogs.

R & K Pet Shop tags and collars are the best. I have been purchasing them for several years. I like how the tags slide on a collar so nothing is hanging to get caught on something. Their tags that they make for larger items like my puppies harness work great also. They are easily applied to the harness with rivets so again no tags are hanging. I highly recommend Boomerang Pet ID tags.

Worst Experience ever. Their customer service was horrible female tried to get hostile with my wife after my wife told Carlos to calm down and asked her to mind her business. The transaction was between my wife and Carlos but once he elevated his voice I had to confront him and tell him to respect and lower his one. Do not promise customer satisfaction and then try to change your policies... DO NOT SHOP HERE AT ALL

Horrible experience with my pet. This is the best place to get sick pets that die within a few days. They need to be reported and investigated. I actually caught them lying in my face on what food they give their animals they switch up their stories a lot and are not compassionate. Well at least the lady was nice but the owner soul is black.

I went in to see what animals they had to offer. The first thing I noticed was the heat inside the place. Second, my eyes noticed a chinchilla who didn't seem normal. I tapped the class from the little fish tank "he" (I asked his gender and I was told "I think it's a boy") was in. He didn't open his eyes or moved. I got closer to the inside to see if it was hotter than what it really felt inside the store, and it was extreme. The chinchilla was breathing heavily. I asked the younger guy (which he was very polite unlike the older guy who was sitting with his two kids and responding to my questions from behind the counter) if they didn't have a ventilation system because it was too hot. The young guy said he was used to it, but my question was concerning the animals and not him because I could careless. The older guy responded with an ignorant response and lack of knowledge "we only have tropical animals in here and he ( the chinchilla) comes from a tropical place." If they sell animals, they should know the basics like chinchillas can't be in temperatures over 80F, which the place seems to be. The older guy kept giving ignorant responses in a way that he was annoyed by me worrying about the animals. All the reviews of five stars seem to me to be from friends and family. They aren't trustworthy. Don't go to this place. All the birds in there seemed sad and I believe that it was because of the heat. In was only 75F today, so I can't imagine once the weather gets really hot.
