The staff at the aquarium are friendly and always ready to assist with any queries. They have an impressive collection of goldfish, with a reasonable number of species available. However, there are no restrooms at the location, and the ones available are often out of order or closed. This can be a problem, especially when shopping with children who may need to use the restroom urgently. It's unclear whether the restrooms are closed to customers intentionally or if the staff is short of resources to maintain them properly.

I've been to this store countless time’s over the past 15 years. Today i was told one of my bill which was a legal bill that i just got from the bank was no good and they wouldn't take it. I understand the kid behind the counter, well he's a kid and doesn't know much so he was relying on his UV lamp to tell him if it was good. So he said no, i questioned why and he called over a manager who looked at it for a split second and said we will only take a newer one? Its a bill printed in 2006 and is 100% legal making it illegal to refuse it. I swear even adults these days are incompetent...

The groomers here are always friendly and love what they do. What I love is that the wait isn't long for the service appointment. Will always go as long as they keep the groomers they have now.

Staff is courteous and helpful. The shopper in front of me waited until she got to the cashier to ask for a product she apparently did not see on the store floor. The 2nd cashier was busy with another shopper so the cashier left to get what was being asked for. This created a bit of a line back-up.I think the shopper was self-centered and rather than ask the staff on the floor, just went to the cashier. Rudeness on the shopper's part.

Been coming here for three years. Vetco clinic is three times a week (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday). Come early the line be crazy they open at 11am I suggest come 10:40. They do take walk ins depending on how full their appointments are. I previously use to do their grooming service but unfortunately they really disappointing in that department and started taking my dog somewhere else.

I love coming here , all the employees are amazing including the young man at the fish station, I think is name is Daniel, ( hope so) if not the one at the fish , long hair. He is so knowledgeable of his area, and every time I go, I have 100 questions he clears all my doubts. Thank you so much for the excellent service

I went to the PETCO Riverdale location this morning 4/5/2024. My dog had an appointment at 11am. I received a call the day before at 3pm to confirm the appointment. I was told that I needed to have proof of three vaccines (Rabies, Bordetella, and Distemper). When I asked if there was anything else they said no. I brought my dog in at 11am this morning and the groomer there said we had to wait 15 minutes for a late employee. We waited 15 minutes until he came in late and he told us we needed a signed copy of her rabies form by the vet. The vet that did her rabies vaccine was not available to sign until 2pm. Had I known that this document needed to be signed I would have done it previously. After an hour of waiting the groomer said we had to reschedule for a different day. All of this would have been understood had the woman that called me the day before told me we needed the document signed. The staff here is completely uneducated and as we were waiting were not treating dogs with care but rather chasing them around their small quarters trying to get them leashed up. The dogs were scared and it was hard to watch. Do not take your dogs to get groomed here. Regardless of my issue, this is not a safe environment for animals.

This is literally the worst Petco I have ever been, I love Petco and I am loyal Petco customer. But this location is literally the worst at customer service and the worst at having items in stock. I cannot give it a star below one.I took my dog to get groomed here and it was literally the last time, I rather spend more money elsewhere. The grooming staff are always busy, so you stand there waiting for 15- 20 minutes for someone to feel like attending you, even though they see you from the other room. Employees talk to customers as if you are bothering them, they cannot simply answer a question without a bit of attitude.The store staff is even worse, good luck trying to find someone to help you and if they do get ready for the smart remarks and attitude in their tone. It almost feels as if you are bothering them. I simply asked a question about my dog food that I purchased at another Petco and the employee responded “yea obviously we don’t have that here” i said ok is it you don’t have it in stock or this store does not carry it? because I usually buy it from Petco only, his response “ i don’t know i only work at this store not any other store”Simply sad to see, as a person who works in customer service, I would never treat my clients in such manner. This is why everyone rather buy on online, or spend their money elsewhere where my business is appreciated.

My experience was OK. I thought that they would check my dogs ears. Check my dogs heart hole workout, but all they did was weigh him and give him his shots. That’s not what I thought I was gonna get for my puppy who turned three months on that day with disappointed.

Broadway/Bronx location 👍🏼 and my groomer is very good, has a lot of knowledge and always has a welcoming attitude. My dog isn’t anxious when I bring her here, they are all caring groomers and sales associates

I have a Lagotto Romagnolo puppy and this breed is notoriously strong-willed and difficult to groom. Our 9-month old puppy was too much for two previous groomers (both of whom came highly recommended with rave reviews) and they said he couldn’t come back. Not only was Jennifer at Petco able to bathe him without issue on one occasion but she also managed to do a full shave down in just about four hours. This is no easy feat and speaks volumes about how skilled, patient and overall amazing she is at her job. Cannot take highly enough about her, thank you Jennifer!

This whole store needs a turn around. Who hired the manager and the cashiers? They're trying to sell you membership and lie about discounts. Managers face also looks grumpy all the time. Come on Petco you're loosing lots of customers by hiring the Ghetto!

1/21/24 I arrived early for my pets grooming appointment, provided documents that stated she is current on all her vaccinations in addition to having the dog tag that states she is vaccinated. I then receive notification from the current grooming manager telling me that my dog cannot be groomed because their is no signature from vet on the form of her certificate of vaccination in addition to there not being a seal of the dog tag on this certificate as well.I was highly disappointed as I was not told any of this when I was called and texted to confirm my pets appointment.My certificate of vaccination has the vets stamp on it and my dogs tag was on her leash.I don’t like miscommunication. This was very unprofessional and this should be stated before hand to not waste anyone’s time.

Was very dissapointed with the "Veterinarian" Asaf his unprofessional he refused to attend my cat because according to him my cat was "Growling" which he then proceed to ask both of his assistance if they had heard which they both said NO! THIS WAS THE WORST GROOMING EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD. We made an appointment with MELISSA over a month ago for 2PM today. We arrived on time and was told it would take about 3 - 4 hours. I received a call from MELISSA about three hours later stating my dog needed to be taken lower due to mats. We comb and brush our labradoodle regularly, but due to his extremely curly coat he knots easily. We agreed it was okay to take him lower, but we showed a picture of what we wanted. At 7 PM we saw that not only was our dog not finished, but the manager (a Latino young woman) came out to tell us that our dog's skin was no longer be brushed, so they were not going to finish his cut and we would have to bring him back. OUTRAGEOUS! The truth is the store had closed and she was obviously ready to leave. Our dog had no skin irritation at all.So now we have to find a groomer tomorrow to try to fix the horrific job the RIVERDALE PETCO/MELISSA, did on our baby who is less than one year and only getting groomed for the second time. Shame on this establishment for such poor customer service! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GROOMER EVER!

Came here for a betta and aquarium starter.The bettas were kept in surprisingly clean conditions. As well as the other fish.When picked up in their containers the bettas moved around and weren't crestfallen. The water was clean and clear save for some poop in a few. Apparently I got a double tail male. He has mixed coloration all over. I also got Api quick start in case my tank cycle crashes.Would recommend.

I bought bearded dragon on dec 22 of 2023 my dragon was showing signs of it being sick I tried very thing to keep it alive I even called it have the dragon return I was told no to take it vet befor the 30 day policy was now they refuse to refund me I had to call corporate now waiting for a response this unfair to me and the poor baby dragon

I will never bring my dog here for a haircut ever again, I paid 115$ for a bundle which included my dog getting his nails cut and buffed, his haircut, and he was supposed to get washed with a special lavender soap. First, i show the lady a picture of how i want my dogs haircut and she tells me she can't make my dog look like a different dog when the dog in the photo was the same breed as my yorkie. My little sister picked him up 4 hours later and he looked a mess. They shaved his body and trimmed the smallest amount of hair off his face and, didn't even clean his face either. On top of that his hair looked sloppily cut and his nails weren't even buffed out they felt weird. All the dogs were walking out of there with a bald body and squared face. I also specifically asked her to trim the hair on his ears and she didn't even do that. If i could give 0 stars i would.

The employee there named Luis gave my boyfriend and I absolute horrible customer service. The employee ringing us up asked him to help to load our coupon and his reply was “its raining the internet service is too slow”. He proceeds to say “we cannot load your coupon I can give you 25% off”(my coupon was for a free bag of food). We already were waiting on the line for 15 minutes, so at that point we asked him to ring us up on another register, which I dont feel like I should have to ask someone how to do their job another way. He then brings us to another register and starts to slam all my items and his scanner and register, he was obviously irritated. I cant help that he works at Petco 🤷🏽‍♀️

This establishment has done more for me than any pet store could do in 6.3 million years. They gave my little pup her first set of shots 2 years ago today. They are a fine pet store 🏬 super clean and super nice. I’d shop their even if I didn’t have a pet.
