This used to be an A&P converted into an Acme. It is pretty similar to other big boxes around the area. They do have a good butcher a large produce area which may or may not carry certified organic.

Good selection but it’s just gotten frustrating to shop here. They got rid of hand baskets for some reason. That’s all I use. I don’t want to push around a cart for 3-5 items. Also, the last time I was there they had zero paper bags at the self checkout. I’m fine with paying $0.10 for a paper bag but not having them at all is annoying (they only had reusable bags for $2 each). My last trip there was me walking around the store carrying milk, eggs, etc. in my hands (no baskets) and then leaving with those items in my hands and pockets (no bags). I guess they want me to go to Stop n’ Shop instead.

I love the location of this store. Good selection of products and ample parking.

I was there this morning and the lady at checking the self cashing registers was so rude. I had about 15 things and I had graded 2 cloth bags, I scanned one and started packing to see if I would need the second one but before I had even payed for my hole shopping this lady came up to me and said Don't forget to pay for the other one! Like I was already using it or walking out the door, I hadn't even pay for anything jet. It made mefeel so horribleuncomfortable. And I told her I might not need it that's why I hadn't scanned it yet, so she grabbed it and took it with her. I don't know what trigger her behavior, I want to hope she wasn't profiling me.

Lied to by sale price, small print says digital coupon. I DO NOT WANT OR NEED YOUR MALWARE APP ON MY PHONE. So, even though you are close, not going to shop here anymore.

The floor in the produce department was so sticky that I could hear my shoes lifting from the floor as I walked. There were fruit flies all over the fruit. There was a bag of fruit with an excessive amount of mold growing on the fruit. It was the first bag on display and very noticeable. Makes me wonder when an employee last checked on the products. The store closed at 11pm, I arrived at 7:30pm and the deli was already closed. This location is very small and doesn’t get enough traffic to be maintained. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because the girl at the customer service desk and the girl at self checkout were both very friendly and helpful.

Asked an employee how to get a digital coupon because I had trouble with the app. He tried, handed the phone back to me, and said it's a technical difficulty. He said I could not get digital coupons. All I have to do at ShopRite is scan my card. ShopRite it is from now on.

Shopping at our local Acme supermarket has always been a smooth process. They are only 1 mile from us and they have good although pricier selections than Shoprite which is about 4 miles further.Last 11/2 was different. My wife and I decided to get a few items and when final tally was done we paid $95. Amount wasn’t uncommon since we usually spend over $100. I was surprised the cashier gave me a slip of paper with an activation code. Perplexed, I asked what this was for. She said it was for a $50 computer game gift card. I said we never wanted this and was surprised it was charged to us. It was apparently on the conveyor and the cashier just assumed we wanted it. They have cameras so am sure they can confirm this. We spoke with the store director Dan Gaughan and apparently, Acme has a no refund policy for gift cards. A reasonable policy if we had any intention of buying it which we did not. It was charged erroneously without our consent. Dan stuck to his guns about store policy. He said they have no way of knowing if the gift card was activated. Mind you we never left the store and the card hasn’t been scratched. After continuous haggling and insistence that this wasn’t our mistake they agreed to reach out to the gaming company for a refund. They didn’t guarantee anything though which is even more perplexing. It’s been 6 days and haven’t heard from them. Hopefully we get a favorable decision.Would be amenable if Acme donate $50 to their food pantry if they can’t give me a refund. As for the gift card, we left it with them. Would gladly hand it over to the HS cashier who charged us once their $50 donation is complete.

Thank you for your service during this virus time. You're protecting our senior citizens very well.My mom who is a senior citizen went to your special hours and she was impressed. All employees have gloves on and very pleasant plus helpful. She felt very safe. So thank you for making sure that our senior citizens are safe , stay healthy and can get out food shopping if they need to.Also thank you to all the employees who go to work everyday.

This is a standard issue grocery store with standard issue stuff. Its not the fanciest place but they're more than sufficient and I have no problem shopping here what so ever. Minus 1 star for not the best produce section, sometimes limp broccoli and things like this, some other stores may have a larger selection of nicer produce. But overall, really, this is a very acceptable grocery store with a good selection, and youre likely to find what you need here at good prices.

Just had the most unpleasant experience at this Acme. Normally everything is just fine.I was waiting on a very long line and decided to ask the service desk if they were checking out. I was stone-cold ignored. The person was 2 feet away for me. I asked again, "Are you checking out?" Once again was ignored while the person just looked down and ignored me. Another employee next to me, answered for the rude employee who was ignoring me and said, "No, they don't check out here". I then asked her again and said, "Oh, you're not checking out here?" She slowly lifted her eyes in reluctance to answer, "No, we are not checking out here". How unbelievably rude and for what reason? Did I offend her by asking her a simple question? The most bizarre experience ever. What could possibly be the problem? Is this person so miserable that they cannot answer a simple question? And should this person be working a service job? I hope very much that management sees my review and has a word with this person to see what the problem is and ask them if they want to be in the service profession. i inquired and her name was Zantia. By the way this occurred at the Chilmark shopping Center in Briarcliff the ZIP Code is 10510

I came in to buy groceries, and there were no cashiers. Only self-checkout lanes. I asked the manager and they said they are phasing out human employees and replacing them with self-checkout machine because it is cheaper. That’s fine, I understand, but I hate self-checkout so now I need to find a new grocery store. Bye, ACME.

I went to get an Italian Hogie, my husband loves it from Acme, there were two employees at the deli, neither of them wanted to make a deli sandwich for me? I went there the other night and a young man made me one, but these two were just lazy, what is the purpose of a deli if you are not able to get a sandwich, that was very rude. I won't be coming back

This store is staffed with a helpful group that are your neighbors. Its clean and pretty well run and shelves are always stocked. The produce is a bit more expensive but mostly good quality, and better than local competitors, so that's a wash. The dairy -which is all the same quality- is also more expensive. This store gets 4 1/2 stars. But because of its pricing, Acme forces me to shop at two stores, therefore 3 1/2 for Acme. Averaged at 4 stars.

There is something about your local grocery store. When I lived in LA I used to have 3 different ones I would go to. Here I only come to ACME

During this pandemic time period, this ACME has pretty much all I need. Some meat shortages, but not too bad. Make sure to get there early. The cashiers are very nice, friendly, and cooperative during this tough trying time. They should get pay raises, but that will never happen.. too bad!!I'd give the staff 6 stars if I could, while the store gets 4.

Big improvement over the A&P! Getting more organic choices which means I don't have to go to Mrs. Green for everything. Hope that continue to stock a larger organic variety.Their seafood is so fresh! It's like eating at the shore! Really! Hope that continues too.

Small store limited selections a great place to refill the fridge and pantry. In my opinion I wouldn’t go full court press food shopping there. Typically 1-2 checkouts out of maybe 8-10. So expect to stand in line.

Not bad. Meat dept a little pricey. Good bakery deli...fried chicken made here is delicious....if you can find it not too old. They don't make it very often and won't cook to order.

update****This review was done for the former A&P which is now ACME ,which store chain is a huge improvement however, the management is the same. Some changes are visible and we love their products which is why we visit the store but you still wont get a friendly greeting or a smile , hey how are you ; everyone seems miserable, and to themselves . *****original A&P Review***My family comes to this store daily. We know many of the deli/butcher/cashier help personally but always was dissatisfied with customer service. They don't look at you or greet you when you stand by the counter, talk to most of the customers unprofessionally and impatiently as the customer is there to bother them. I never needed much help at customer service but there were incidents which left a sour taste in my mouth and I walked away. This one time I won't accept what they have done, how condesending they were, lecturing me , and talking over me when I didn't do anything. The customer service reps need serious training to control their attitude, and they need to learn to talk professionally to customers in any situation instead of saying " BACK OFF " to a customer or yelling to my niece to not to shove her ID in their face! WE are the customers, WE didn't do anything wrong and will NOT stand for this kind of attitude from a local store and hope A&P won't either. The manager has done little to none to fix the problem when he was an eye witness, no apologies were made for the way Tina and Indria spoke with us.I heard other people say that they ARE snootie and rude as well, which is really sad that they are allowed to do this for quite a while now. There are companies who do not stand for this kind of treatment from their employees even if the customer is impatient , and for that reason A&P will NOT have my or my family's business any more.

Decent selection for a small store! Always well stocked. Bot a lot of variety for some options and produce not as varied as larger stores. Overall a good one!

There were only 2 registers open, any many customers. There was not an express lane open. I ended up leaving the store without making a purchase after waiting online.

Acme is stepping it up. New coolers to replace the old ones along with the doubts that the food I bought wasn't properly refrigerated. So far so good.

Apparently this is one of those establishments that wants their employees to know they still adhere to "traditional" gender values. Unless you're MAGA, dont shop here, they don't want your business.
