We love this office! Dr P is the most compassionate and caring vet there is in this area! Everyone from the front desk, to the techs and doctors are amazing. He takes great care of his patients and actually listens when you talk. He does his best to not put the pups or pet parents through anything that’s not necessary. I recommend this office whenever I can to my fellow fur moms & dads.

My aunt had switched vets & was telling me how kind they were with her dog that recently passed & how I should check them out. I was a little unsure about switching but then she mentioned Dr. Prosser, who I previously worked with at my last vets office. I decided to make the switch right away because I knew how great he was, and that we could trust him with our dogs. He and the staff are ALWAYS so friendly & caring. They work hard to get my pups in whenever I think there could be a possible emergency. They were also very understanding when we had to cancel a same day appointment (even though it’s very unlike us, it was an emergency!!) Now my aunt, my mom, and myself all take our pets here. I’d recommend Clear Lakes to anyone, they are amazing!! Thank you for taking such great care of the pups!

Front desk girls and vet techs are generally very nice. However, the veterinarian who runs the practice is negligent, plays favoritism, and takes zero accountability for his misdiagnosis. We have taken one of our older dogs there multiple times for the same thing (Jan/July)and all I wanted was to have her not in pain and to keep her quality of life as good as it could be, all factors considered. In the appts I was •blamed for my pets symptoms because i didn't keep in communication (this was less than a month from the first visit w UTI symptoms), • spoke down to in a condescending manner. Ie: There were med changes for my dog that was being gone over, and i was repeating it just to make sure that it was correct, and I was asked if I needed it written down. There was more of this, but that one sticks out the most. • told my dog was old, and i needed to just let it happen(this was the very worst of the very expensive medical tx my dog received.) And the final straw, I once again brought her in for the same thing 7 months in and I had to firmly reiterate how she absolutely needed another UA and yes after 7 months, a sonogram of her bladder( she had just finished her last dose of antibiotics from the previous visit so 3 +\- weeks, in which the antibiotic perscribed that time was going to clear up any UTI she might have. Didnt get the UA I requested that time either.) The UA came back positive for infection, as I suspected it would and I was told "this time" we were gonna use a stronger antibiotic that should clear it up. Okay, so it was a fri afternoon, and he left them in the box for me to pick up (one courtesy i appreciated at the time). Only to get them home and realize it was the same antibiotic she had been given the last time and every time we had been seen by him!!! This was the Friday before the Grand Reopening and Rebranding (Dr. Dbag now runs and micromanages the whole practice). So clearly, my dog was not a priority because it seemed like one glance at her med chart would have prevented that kind of obvious mistake. One commonality in every appt was always about money and how much we were willing to spend. Well, we started there in Nov '22 and left during July '23 and spent over 10 grand, to get this kind of quality care. It took 2 appts and $1200 dollars for our current Vet. to properly diagnose my dog. Its not the money that upsets me, it's the fact that all i wanted was for her to receive proper quality care and be as comfortable as possible. I could overlook how I was treated, but I am the only advocate for my dog, and this sort of negligence is really hurtful, disappointing, and breeds mistrust for a field I highly respected. Take from this what you will. Not everyone will have the same experience, and not everyone who has this experience will speak up. Ellie deserved better, and she will/is getting it. I'm only sorry we didn't trust our instincts and leave sooner.

Thank you for caring for my pug, Peaches, the way that you did. She was diagnosed in January with Lymphoma. Sadly she was suffering and struggling badly. Tonight we brought her in and Dr. Prosser welcomed her in with open arms and made her last moments the most peaceful and comfortable for her. I will never forget that. This is one amazing practice with truly good kindhearted people. We will forever recommend you to everyone we know.

I took my dog there a week ago trying to figure out why he stopped eating and his belly was enlarged. First thing they ask is what's your budget, nothing about the dogs condition. $65 for office visit, ~200 for blood work, 900 if I wanted to drain fluid from bell, 2-3k for more test. I felt like a I had a money bag on my forehead. We and I say we because I felt they did it to appease me prescribed antibiotics and pain medication, which I picked up at Walmart and saved over $40. My dog passed away this morning in a horrific few hours (from 2am to 630am) he couldn't breathe , walk, or anything. I felt helpless and seen my beloved family member suffer his last few hours and there was nothing I could do. I believe the Brewerton Hospital failed me and failed my dog. I would not recommend.

They seemed friendly and I'm hopeful they were thorough although they couldn't pin point the issue with my cat. My problem lies in the fact they asked if they could have authorization for between $500-$600. Then when I went to pick the cat up they told me the total was $749. I was blown away. They next mentioned increased cost through phone conversations. I wouldn't have brought my cat in without being desperate to help her, but I can't help but feel I was drastically overcharged.

I recently took my 9 month old puppy to Clear Lakes Animal Wellness for several issues. Dr Prosser listened to everything I said, examined my puppy and prescribed 4 different medications for him. After quite some time of being sick, he finally seems to be getting better. I am so thankful that we saw Dr. Prosser and that my little buddy is feeling much better.

My cousin recommended I come here as she raves about them especially after having a few bad experiences at other places.After just a few visits with my pets it was so easy to feel confident recommending them as well. I have loved both vets and they have both been so helpful and caring! Their prices are fair and the peace of mind from knowing my fur babies are in good hands hasn’t been something I’ve felt at other vet offices.One vet helped me with a sick pet and was very compassionate about helping him and the other vet has helped with routine care for my pets and I can hear her loving on them in the back.

We had a semi-emergency with our cat and our own vet wouldn’t see her because they hadn’t seen her before (only our dog). We were afraid we’d end up at an emergency vet with a huge bill. I called Clear Lakes Animal Wellness and they’d just had a cancellation and were happy to see our cat. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful (even faced with the possibility of getting destroyed by the claws of a very anxious and in pain cat). The doctor came in and chatted with us, answered our questions and we left feeling confident our cat would be fine. On top of that, they were very affordable. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Prosser was a blessing from God. I would highly recommend Clear lake animal wellness. My daughter and grandsons dog Missy was seriously sick and needed surgery and they are 1 1/2 hours from my house and were the only ones that would work with us. All the staff is caring and loving and treat your animals like there own. They did the surgery and Dr. Prosser called me last night and told me she made it through surgery and was awake. We brought one of our cars here recently. Do to covid we couldn't enter the premises. We called the office from the parking lot to let them know we were there. About 15 minutes later they called back saying someone would be out shortly to bring our cat inside. A while later the vet called us with a diagnosis and instructions.This process was a little weird but we didn't have much of a say in how it works, no matter where we would go. The vet was very nice, listened to our concerns and was knowledgeable in the issues discussed. We did have to call for a follow-up and a return call took over a day, but during these strange times that is understandable.This office is much closer than our original vet and is much easier on our cats who really stress out from long rides. I hope this location works out in the future as well

Louie was not himself for several days. On July 4th weekend his condition worsened and on July 5th he was almost not able to walk.I called every animal hospital in the Utica/Rome area and nobody would see him. I even called hospitals in the Syracuse area and the same reply "not taking in new patients"Clear Lakes was the only clinic willing to see him. His condition improved the very next day.Well worth the hour drive!!

The staff are the most caring, genuine people I've ever encountered in the veterinarian business. They form connections and attachments to their patients. I've had some furkids who did not like the vet's office, but through their diligence in working with them, they helped each one overcome or minimize their fear /anxiety because they cared enough to take the time with each of them to build a relationship of trust. I cannot say enough good things about the entire crew.

I have brought my mini dachshund Jack to Dr. Prosser since he was 8 weeks old, he is now almost 4. He always takes the time to answer any questions I have and explains things clearly. He helped me get through some "rough patches" with Jack's housebreaking and really encouraged me. The staff are friendly and professional--I have had nothing but good experiences.

Great staff, fair pricing and nice facility! Our puppy is a patient of Dr. Prosser, she is always treated very well and she is happy to see him at our visits. Dr. Prosser takes his time with us and I never feel rushed. The front office staff and vet technicians are all well informed, pleasant and they make the visits enjoyable. We find that their pricing is fair and it is helpful that they post the pricing on the wall in the exam rooms. Very accommodating and pleasant practice!

Great first visit for our new pup with Dr. Meier. She is very knowledgeable and made it obvious that she cares about the animals entrusted with her care and spent a lot of time discussing upcoming vaccinations and care for our pup, including discussing several options for flea. tick, heartworm prevention. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. Unlike experiences we've had with other veterinary clinics in the area, we did not feel that the appointment with Clear Lakes was least bit rushed. I highly recommend their service.

I got a new puppy! So, I decided to try a new vet office. I am familiar with Dr Prosser and appreciated how well he cared for my other pets in the past. It was very easy to make an appointment. I brought my kitten here for her first visit. I didn't know what to expect as this is our families first pet outside of a fish. Everyone was so nice. I appreciate the cost sheet in the rooms so I had time to think about cost. My kitten wasn't too scared and didn't even fight when the vet or the technicians took her back for shots.
