My son and I were moving a boat from Lake Erie to NC and took the Erie Canal. We had our steering fail and we stopped here to have it looked at. I called ahead and Helen told me where to easily dock, as without steering this was and issue. Wayne (the owner) came to the boat within 30 min. and took apart the steering and found that a key pin had broken. He fixed it in about 2 hours. They also had a good stocked parts department which allowed Wayne to repair things immediately. Helen even drove my son to the local store for other needed supplies. Wonderful people and I would highly recommend this boat yard for any needs.

ABSOLUTELY one of the best boat yards I've ever visited. Extremely friendly staff. Great daily rates for launching and it's literally less than 2 minutes (via boat) to Lake Onidea, or fish down stream on the Onidea River

This place has been open forever and there is a reason for it. Great people great service and they just proved themselves to me again yesterday when I needed Carb rebuild kit last minute. So i figured it’s about time to write a review. Called down there and Helen picked up the phone. Told her my situation and she stayed after hours and waited for me even though she was closing in 5 minutes. I got There 15 minutes later to see a closed sign on the door and lights off. Door was cracked open and there she was with kit on the counter. If that’s not great service with a smile I dont Know what is. LABOR DAY WEEKEND mind you. 5 stars all day. Whether you need fuel/parts/service they got what you need without the attitudes.

Please read this. The owners here are amazing, and extremely honest. I had bought a brand new boat from a dealer near Cortland, and it was my first time with the boat out. I had launched at South Shore Road boat launch and drove to Oneida River to break the engine in. I had shut the engine off to do some fishing, and when I started the engine up my prop flew off. (This is my first time out with the boat.) I immediately called Brewerton Boat Yard because they were the only Marina closed, and they were certain they could help me. So I used to my trolling motor to get there after 45 minutes. The owner had driven back to his house several times to find a prop that will work on my new boat motor so I can get back on the water, he found one and installed the prop on. I was in great shock when he gave me a very small price for all the hassle, the prop and the time. The owners, and the dog Logan, are extremely loyal people, and care for their customers. I am beyond shock how honest they're and didn't take advantage of me when I was literately "stuck on the water." If you guys are reading this, I owe you, big time. I will be back, you've earned a customer.

The yard snd staff are absolutely wonderful. So courteous and knowledgeable. They have helped us and a friend get our boats repaired quickly and expertly so we could continue on our canal journey. They have total service. Highly recommend.

My mother and I are still new to the area, in the first year of our time at Oneida (after a decade on the St. Lawrence river) at the time of this review, when we were searching for help getting gas and oil for our boat. After another marina was empty as a ghost town, BBY answered immediately and waited for us to paddle our way over! I think we've found our go-to marina!

One star for clean place, small store of boating items, easy to find. Stopped there Thursday morning with questions about carburator. We can fix just about anything but wanted to ask some questions of them to get their take on it. Process of elimination before we sink more money than needed. We asked the question, the guy at the counter answered it, then turned around and walked away. Giving the benefit of the doubt and because they are the closest place to us, we went back that same Thursday afternoon with our used spark plugs to show them how different they looked and to ask their thoughts and told them what we had already done The same service guy started to help, says it looks like the one isn't sparking; then the phone rang, he answered it without saying "one second please", "excuse me", etc. Was short with the person on the phone . Hung up and proceeded to say to the other service guy who had approached that people expect me to tell them what's wrong with their boat when they say it's only clicking. I'm sure that is frustrating, but it's not a comment you make in front of other customers when you had already been rude to us on that morning and we were unsure about returning. He returns to us and says " so what was your problem? Are they all sparking?". He had just told us before the phone call that it was clear they weren't. Both visits he looked at us and spoke to us like we were dummies. Whether you know about boats or not, that's not how we want to be treated. We took our used spark plugs and went to another marina, farther away, but with helpful, friendly customer service.

I don’t my son’s boat off at Brewerton Boat yard on May 17th well he was on vacation. Spoke with Shawn that morning 5 weeks later no communication and he whined we called 3 times not 6 times and said he couldn’t work on my sons boat cause we called to much and we can come pick it up. The whole five weeks he done a compression test which at no time did I give him the inclination that there was engine damage this was simple air fuel mixture issue that me and my son researched on line and fixed within 20 minutes. Shawn’s communication skills are that of a 5 year old. Wouldn’t recommend him to work on my row boat. Very simple repair and all we got is exudes and my son is A customer and pays in full for professional services which he did not receive

I had a horrible experience at this marina. I dropped off my Mercury motor and which was working earlier in the day, but stalled out. They said it was'maybe' bad gas and a carburator problem. After charging me $500.00 I was told they weren't done working on it and put in new spark plugs andnew gas lines and would need to get permission to do more. I didn't havethem do addition 'repairs'. I brought it to another Marina and they said theyput in the wrong plugs which would not fire correctly and they did not replace all of the gas lines. The carburator was fine. They didn't need tocharge me for a compression test since it was unneeded. Anyway it wasa $500 mistake for me to leave my Mercury outboard with these guys since they don't know what they are doing. They charge $175.00 an hourand don't have the expertise to figure out how to repair an outboard. Howthey are in business I will never know. Must be location not because theyknow how to fix engines. Buyer beware.

My husband an I were at Lake Oneida and were having problems with our motor not firing. We were sent to Brewerton Boat Yard and were very pleased with the immediate and helpful service. The mechanic was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were back on the water within an hour....I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks again...😃

If you fix your boat yourself this place has every part I've ever needed including discontinued parts. I'm not to happy with the mechanical side though. I ended up fixing my lower unit myself. The only problem was the throttle cable. If you've got a big boat and lots of money , these guys will love you. If you don't, then they'll sell you what you need and you'll have to learn to work on it yourself. Good group of people though. Really nice.

Wayne, Helen and staff are Top Shelf! Incredible customer service, extremely knowledgeable. The marina is the cleanest around and the ship store stocks all of your boating needs. I can't speak highly enough for all he's done to help. Best Marina around by far!

My friend Dan and I were in town for a few days of fishing. We needed a part for his Mercury outboard and so we found this company. What a pleasant surprise, Wayne and everyone there were so helpful. They had the part in stock and got us going in no time. Their facility is clean and well stocked with your favorite boating supplies. Dan enjoyed their sweet dog, as he greeted is in the parking lot! I would definitely recommend this facility to any boater in or visiting the brewerton area.

Ed the mechanic excellent knows his stuff efficient clean gets job done 8:30 to 11:30 including 15 min coffee break boat up and running. Office: no discounts has hour stretcher 3 makes 4 hrs,and charges for docking while boat is repaired. When your auto dealer gets wind of this you will be charged for parking while you car is being repaired.

If you need True upstate New York Hospitality and Confident Service these are your Guy’s! While traveling the Canal we lost our Solenoid on our Starboard engine at Lock 21 and Mike, Danielle and Crew opened up the T-Dock for us to limp in after hours and replaced our Solenoid/Starter by Noon the next morning. I’d use them for any mechanical repair and overnight Dockage whenever I’m in Brewerton! Thanks so much Guy’s...

The staff at Brewerton Boatyard have always been helpful and provided good quality service. We had a problem with our boat in Albany, headed west along the canal and their solid reputation was known all along the canal. We have always found the staff there to be extremely knowledgable and highly skilled and friendly. I would not hesitate to bring a boat to them for any type of repair.

I dropped off my Seaswirl on June 30th with an oil leak behind the prop and told Wayne that I’m on vacation July 13th to the 21st. and really needed the boat to fish on Ontario that week. He called me today on July 8th and told me that I was good to go! This place has excellent customer service and I will be a returning customer for sure. 6 days before the deadline and at a reasonable price too! Thanks Wayne!!

I drive about an hour to go to Brewertown Boat even though there are closer options. Wayne is very knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile to help me when it comes boat repairs. Over the years, i have found Wayne really knows his Mercruiser parts and keeps a good inventory on hand. Let's just say it's worth the trip.

He stayed open to sell us fuel and offer u a place to stay over night amd showers. I move big boats for a living his actions dont happen at very many places these days. Was very disappointed in lack of interest to make things right on a leak repair. Paid $200+ for a repair that did not solve the problem. All I was offered by Wayne Carroll was to verify that the two pinholes he sealed were not leaking. He was not interested at all in crediting any of what I already paid him towards finding the real problem. He obviously was not interested in my business. Will never go back there for parts or launch or anything and advise you to stay away. Took it to someone else who used to work at Brinson and really knew his stuff. He found the real leak right away and fixed the problem, which was much more involved than 2 pinholes, for about the same cost!

Best place for parts...Honest and competitive...Been there twice this year for parts for my Merc outboard and both times they've been extremely helpful...Wouldn't sell me parts until I verified the serial number on the.motor...It blew me away...Wasn't expensive parts, but they made sure they were the correct parts...Hard to find that kind of service these days...Only place I'll go from now on...
