Wonderful experience setting up a habitat and bringing home a happy and healthy axolotl. As someone that has managed a pet store, I was very impressed with their customer service and animal husbandry practices. Their staff is knowledgeable and has the best interests of the animals in mind as a default. Prices for local pet store specialty products (not available from big retailers) are very fair.

Bought a beautiful G-Morph ball python for an incredible price a few months ago. Brought it home, got a nice big tank for it, basking Stone, ceramic heating lamp, the works. 3 weeks ago noticed the little guy starting to soak in his water dish. Didn't think anything of it at first, he was a new snake, I had never seen them do this before so I thought it was okay. Yesterday went into his bedroom (he has his own bedroom), And noticed black speckles all over him. Upon closer examination, I discovered that he had a ridiculous infestation of snake mites. I'm 42 years old, I've loved snakes since I was a little boy, I can't even count the amount of snakes I've had in my possession. This is the first time I've dealt with this. And this is directly related to the conditions of the store. I've only been in there once, and the time I was in there it smelled so strongly of animal urine I had to hold my breath. You guys need to clean up your act, or quit selling animals.

The staff that work there are great,great prices n very knowledgeable,I bought all my African cichlids ,some of my community fish n etc from there,just love the place ,if they need someone work or lend a hand they know who I am…peace n blessings

This hometown pet store has been around for a very long time and is worth checking out before you venture to one of the larger chain stores. Very knowledgeable owner/staff. Learned a lot of new facts about the fish I had and the new ones I was purchasing. I was treated like an important customer and will return to this pet store for any future pet needs.

I’ve been to this store for so long. When I was a kid it was a great store. My bf got us some new fish and he’s a nerd about fish. He literally taught himself how to read so he can learn about fish. So he knows a lot, the employees did not know what some of the fish were and there was a giant dead fish in one of the tanks that had fungus on it. I will never be coming here again and I will be sure to tell everyone i know. This is disgusting just how many fish we’ve bought that die shortly after we get them. We take care of our fish and it’s sad to see this pet store go downhill. They also have sick puppies in the back displays which is disgusting. TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANIMALS!

This place is the best, better than any chain store. They have adorable puppies and even a tortoise! And they are so helpful in getting you what you need. And their fish cave is just awesome.

I go here almost every week to get rats for my snake and treats for my dog, they always have pigs ears and big bones, the staff is friendly and there animals all seem well taken care off don’t listen to these negative reviews as I have been there a lot over the years and never witnessed anything these negative reviews are saying..

I work in veterinary medicine so I hope the owners take this review to heart. The owners were pleasant and the fish looked okay but the mammal's conditions were ABYSMAL. There were 10+ puppies in each cage and it would seem these puppies were likely from puppy mills or backyard breeders, which do not have the puppy's health in mind. Not to mention that the prices for these puppies are outrageously expensive. Please adopt from a shelter.Besides the puppies, the rabbits and chinchillas were housed near dogs, cats, and ferrets, which are all predatorial to them. I can imagine there is immense stress on these animals. I hope that these issues are due to ignorance rather than greed. Please please please prioritize PROPER care of the animals.

Okay... we have been loyal customers to the store for many years... But as of late there mice prices in accordance to their sizes have not been accurate when I say I want a medium or large Mouse for buddy are Florida king snake that's what I want not little ones that look like babies that just got their fur."Look at the snake we saw at...Greenwood Park!!!"

The owner is nice but his staff is ridiculously irresponsible always telling ppl dates for delivery’s every time I go they are outside smoking this is how u let bad staff kill your business I go there to support the small city shop but no more u guys lost another customer due to ignorant staff your best bet is to clean house and try to save face they are destroying your shop not taking care of animals and not able to count fish or crickets they can’t do anything with basic math or basic care they spend more time smoking cigs outside then working I wish u the best but they definitely deserve minimum wage nothing more and need to have their hands held

This place is horrible, all my friends who have gotten dogs from this place have had huge medical bills on top of the high cost of the animal. The fish all look like they have ick and are in such small tanks that they are eating each other. The reptile tanks were dirty and they all looked sad and cramped as well. The prices of the merchandise are outrageous. Will not be going back again.

My boyfriend & I got a dog from here…he was a shibu .. 3 months after having him, he passed away… come to find out, he died of parvo. We didn’t think anything of it since the paper work said he came with his shots. All they did was offer us store credit.

Small sure but they have lots of fish, fresh and salt water. As well as plants and corals. Everyone is very affordable.They always have many puppies. Mostly small breeds.The stuff is very friendly.

Had bought MANY rats from them.. almost ALL died a day or so after bringing them home, cut my losses at the 4th replacement.. the PET rats are mentally unstable as well.. EVERY rat I purchased was horribly aggressive towards each other and showed clear signs of mental unstability! Not to mention the sick and or DEAD or dying animals left of display.. the hundreds of people who were faced with the heartbreaking of spending 1,000's of $$ just to have the puppy or kitten DIE a few days after purchase fro. A PRE-EXISTING health issue!

From a business owner to another business owner. If you see a regular customer who is known for spending money every visit. And if that customer shows up 5 minutes before you close. Do you A) let them have a few extra minutes to make their purchases B) tell them it's closing time exactly on the dot at the hour and proceeds to make a customer feel bad for it.Choice B was made and you lost a lot of money. As a business owner my employees and myself will politely give a customer extra time after close just to allow them to make a purchase OR have a pleasant experience. Customers know when it's time to close but an extra 5 minutes could come with extra sales. Rushing a customer out the door at the exact minute of close is unprofessional and will lose customers.

This is the perfect place to get emergency supplies or even a new buddy! We’ve bought many fish and plants here and it’s always been a positive experience. The prices on fish are the lowest in the area. They also do exchanges or credit if a fish isn’t working out which is really awesome.

I just bought my beautiful puppy from this place. The staff (Jim and Julie) were so kind, helpful, patient and professional. Every question I had was answered. Since this was a phone purchase I was put at ease that it was a safe transaction. Sure enough, everything was as Jim explained. I found the store to be clean and the animals well taken care of. The displays were orderly. There was a lot of merchandise to choose from. We also were given a little area where we could get acquainted with our puppy. Also very impressive was Jim called me later to make sure we got home with our puppy and inquired if we needed any help with acclimating our puppy to our home. He assured me that they were available any time to offer assistance. I would definitely recommend this pet store as a great place to buy a pet and supplies.

Wonderful selection of pet/fish needs both fresh salt & fantastic live rock. Employee Julie was so helpful & nice. We traveled 2 hrs each way, friend recommended & we will be shopping there again, in very near future. We are just starting our 55 gallon tank. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I got a chinchilla from here & within a week it passed away. I got a huge cage (which I cleaned right away before even using it) new toys, new bedding new literally everything. I read 100s of forums before even getting the chinchilla so I wouldn’t do anything wrong. When I took it to the vet after having it for the FIRST day they said it was sick (which means he sold us a sick chinchilla, probably from them not caring for their animals like they should) & gave us medicine & it still died. When I called the store the person who answered said he would refund the money but then the owner said he wouldn’t do that & gave me store credit instead, so I couldn’t spend my money elsewhere like somewhere that actually deserves the money. I grew up next to this place as a kid & honestly it used to be nice. Idk avoid it.

They have a great variety of supplies, however, they do not keep their reptiles well at all. I went in and noticed none of the reptile cages had hides for the animals and the tanks were super filthy. They keep their fish well, but I suggest if you are looking for a reptile, go somewhere else. Their tanks are also way overpriced.
