Took my service dog to get groomed here and they were so sweet and patient with her, especially considering she is such a high energy labrador. They even spoke to me about some concerns regarding her collar being too tight which I really appreciate, it means a great deal that they notice stuff like that and will express their concerns. Just shows that they truly care about the dogs they groom. Will definitely be bringing her back here. She looks and smells great too

Horrible Nonetheless the owner is rude and has no customer service. I also think she isn’t educated on different dog breeds and how their hair grows. My dog has cuts all over. I’m not sure the people they have working there know how to cut dogs hair. I gave it two tries but this time i feel so bad putting my dog through that experience

The owner is very nice and they have always done a fabulous job on my Schipperke. Plus the Beacon Barkery is right next door so you could grab your furry friend a well-deserved treat!

I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt as my dog is a bit hesitant when it comes to grooming; however when i got the phone call that they were unable to groom her face because of her behavior i was highly suspicious. My dog returned home with razor burns around her private areas which have been highly irritating for her. She also returned with a razor burn so bad that her fur was matted to the burn with gunk. I will be sure to never return here.

I have never been compelled to write a review, positive or negative, for a business, but I need other potential customers to understand what they can expect from Paws and Mittens. We recently moved to Beacon and brought our extremely friendly and loving maltipoo for grooming. When I went to pick him up, I was told that I should have warned the staff that he does not like his ears brushed so they knew to muzzle him ahead of time, which they did anyways and I was not consulted on. Again, our dog is very sweet, has been to the same groomer for years in Brooklyn, and had never been muzzled before. They also said that I would need to remind them next time because they have too many customers to remember. After I picked him up, he was extremely traumatized and would not stop scratching and licking himself, and was limping. He was also aggressive in a way that we’ve never seen before. There were also several spots that were shaved down to the skin with apparent razor burns. After a day of licking, his neutering incision incredibly raw.. We immediately took him to the vet to find out that 1. He now has an infection from being nicked, and 2. that he has a pulled muscle from rough handling during grooming. We have never had such an awful grooming experience and would NEVER bring him back here. If you are new to the area, or just looking for a new groomer, I would suggest looking elsewhere if you care about your pet.

I went in looking to make an appt for my cat. Their website and store front is literally called paws and mittens. They were incredibly rude as if I had lost my mind for asking. Because the owner is severely allergic to cats.i tried explaining my cat is hypoallergenic and such a good kitty getting bathe. They turned me away which is fine but don’t be rude and give me an attitude for inquiring.

I have used Paws &Mittens in the past when Maria owned it. Then Selma took over and I continued to use her until my then, dog passed away. After a couple of years, I rescued a very tiny dog who is very timid and isn't a fan of grooming. The first time all went well and I was very pleased because her workmanship really is superior to others in the area. Sadly, the second time I brought my little dog to her, she had a few big dogs there that most likely made my dog a bit nervous and I can only assume, fidgety. His haircut was very choppy and he had some raw spots on his skin (in a male dog's very sensitive area)...it was either a burn from an overheated buzzer or the buzzer was pressed so hard on him that he was scraped. Since I wasn't there and my dog can't speak, I can only use my licensed hairdressing knowledge to assume this is how he was hurt. Sadly, I am no longer comfortable bringing him there😞 If you decide to go there, and you have a fidgety, nervous dog, this may not be the best place to go.

I got into a bind and needed someone to dog sit on short notice. Since Sadie is a newly adopted dog, I was stressed out to say the least. The ladies that took care of Sadie are extremely polite, kind, hardworking and mostly importantly, animal lovers. I could see each of their eyes light up when we spoke about our pets, so I know Sadie was in great hands. In particular, Stephanie went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable when leaving Sadie in their care. When I picked Sadie up - though happy to see me - didn’t want to leave!!! These ladies are fabulous and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for pet grooming, sitting and boarding!

I will not bring my teacup Yorkie anyplace else! I love how they pamper her and not only do an AMAZING job grooming but they also make sure she is comfortable until I pick her up. Their caring and attention to detail is so heartwarming!

Salma and the rest of the team are the BEST! My dogs go in looking homeless and come out looking like a million bucks! I have two bichons...which can be a hard breed to cut...but my fluffs always come out looking fabulous! They are always willing to accommodate and they always fit us in for cuts which I really really really appreciate because I'm horrible at planning in advance! This is the ONLY place I TRUST with my fluffs!!! Thank you again!!

I personally worked for Salma for almost 2 months in her new windsor location. I also worked with her a couple of times in her beacon location when she needed help and the things I witnessed her do to the dogs makes me extremely grateful I do not work for her anymore. She told me “the dog in pain is not our concern, they pay us for the dog to look good” while I was lightly brushing a matted dog. Instead of trying to use the scissors or clippers to loosen the knot she proceeded to lift the dog in a handstand position and yank on the knot with the brush and the dog was screaming and crying. She lifted him and handled him aggressively while brushing him hard. She told me “You need to learn how to do this.” I refused to brush it so hard and even told her at the other location we don’t do that. She called it “lazy” since I didn’t want to yank on the dogs like that. The manner in which she handles the dogs on the table and in her salon period, is appalling. She should be reported.

Although my dog has been there twice and seemed fine afterwards, the job they do is also high quality what I witnessed just today is inexcusable. I went to pick up my pup after her groom was done today and while I was waiting to pay i witnessed one of the groomers grab a struggling dog by its paw and yell at the poor thing, needless to say I won't be going back

You must take you Pet baby to their spa. It is an amazing experience for you puppy or adult dog. They're kind and passionate that is the signature of there doggie salon. I recommend to everyone!!

My first concern was that they didn’t ask for a vaccination record. My dog is 7yrs old, weighs 4lbs. and has NEVER bit anyone. When I picked her up they told me that my dog tried to bite them. I will not be returning.
