The deli department is spectacular, run by a woman named Fran who they call “Mama”. Loads of homemade delicacies, salads, homemade roast beef, eggplant Parmesan and rollatini, lasagna, homemade chili, creamy Mac and cheese, fresh roasted Turkey breast, bbq chickens and other entrees all reasonably priced. They also do catering which is top notch. Produce department is always well stocked with the freshest local veggies and a great assortment of fresh fruit and some impressive vegetable and fruit platters. The meat department has the most tender cuts of beef and steaks and chops, fresh chicken, pork and veal. Always fresh and well displayed.

Nice little grocery store in Bayville to get things you need. This store is not huge to get most things like a supermarket. It's good to go and get things you need if you do not want to go far.

Almost 60 , been going since I was 14. They play the same 70's music, weird. This honestly is a GEM! This store is well kept , clean, well loved & cared for. The Food Basket REALLY tries to have a GOOD VERIETY. NICE PRODUCE, DELI, REALLY NICE MEAT PREPERATION & PRICES! Dairy is sometimes high priced but, what are you gonna do, your already there.This is a beautiful little market.

Ok for last minute items. Poor quality meat and prepared foods. I have been sold spoiled meat frequently. I have been sold spoiled deli items as well.

"The Food Basket" of Bayville is a must stop for those who demand excellence in fresh produce and exquisite meats. Once inside shoppers are treated to fine easy rock tunes and great produce. Yes it does taste better in Bayville. For and added treat pay at the last 2 cashier's as you will see the waters of the Long Island Sound as the adept cashier quickly sends you on your way. For those that enjoy a good buy, do look for those manager's specials, not to mention the sandwiche of the week. So do drop by and enjoy the friendly hometown vibe.

I'm a huge believer shop local WELL 1st time in 25 yrs I make a return because recently everything is going bad. Always bought meat only here last week 2 packs chicken legs were bad immediately, beef bad in 2 days, chopped meat the good one bad in 3 days, potatoes went mildew in 2 days. . I bring back the beef an chopped meat the non customers skills meat guy said oh noo we can't return or exchange. They made me feel like I robbed meat.

Food basket in Bayville is the best home town grocery store. They always are nice and the manager goes out of his way to get anything you want ordered. Ive been going for 35 years and they have always been this way

I absolutely love the food basket and all the mom and pop people who work there. They remember me and even laugh at my jokes. Why one request is that they start carrying miso as I definitely hate going to Whole Foods

I'm very satisfied with IGA! I find it extremely clean with the freshest fruits and vegetables fresh deli meats competitive prices and the meat is the best around Frank the butcher will cut what you want when want it if you don't see it ring the bell and he will help you

It was terrible to hear how the deli manager treated a customer recently. Throwing the customer out because the customer needed to have her service dog with her. I hope there is some repercussions because of this. In all fairness this deli manager needs to be terminated

I just got back from shopping there for the first time and the prices are great for being in Bayville and the staff was so kind to let me finish shopping even tho I was a little longer and they were closing!!! Kudos to the workers!!! Highly recommend!!!
