I will always rate Country Max 5 stars. As someone who travels and buys online a lot, I can say there prices are unbeatable. I would definitely recommend CountryMax for all pet needs. Staff is usually very young but knowledgeable and friendly.

This place is fantastic. It's like the Cabela's of pets and gardening. Huge. Last fall when I discovered the old location on the other side of town had closed, I was uber-bummed that yet another Mom & Pop Shop succumbed to the corporate monsters. But then the other day I had to go to the biggest corporate retail monster of all across the street and discovered they had simply moved. I was thrilled, and much browsing and shopping commenced immediately. Yes I blew some cash that day. :-)

CountryMax's care for their animals is unacceptable. They used to take relatively good care of them, but as the business has expanded, the level of care has declined very quickly. At this particular CountryMax in Batavia, there are always sick birds. Today there was a gouldian finch struggling to breathe, as well as a very clearly sick parakeet. The zebra finches were plucked bare by each other. The rabbits had a completely empty water bottle as well. Something needs to change and these poor animals need vet care ASAP.

This single gouldien finch was all alone in its cage. This is not ok. Gouldien finches are not solitary creatures and should not be alone. Being alone is very harmful on there physical and mental health it looked severely depressed. I will not be going here again. Along with this the employees were unhelpful and not professional at all before and after i brought this to there attention.

Waited over 30 minutes for service. Labels on the fish tanks were very tiny, hard to read. Thought I was buying Danios. The label did say danio. They are actually Cichlids. Aggressive and territorial. Now I can not do with my tank what I had planned. Not happy. The salesperson had no knowledge of fish. Even putting 6 in a tiny bag. Thankfully another salesperson remedied that. Will never buy fish there again.

Was just in batavia store....the animals had no food or water. I understand its right after the holiday and bad weather but the store had been open for 40 minutes and 3 employees were just standing around the front. I just would think the first thing someone would do is check on the live animals after not being there for days.

Honestly one of my favorite stores to visit, sometimes I'll go just to browse and see what there is. I love all the tiny knick knacks and other things you can find there. Also, it's the only place I'll buy fish from. The workers there are also always so friendly.

Great products for pretty much any mammal or amphibian. They also have animals and amphibians for sale. They also have a cute little country store area where you can get a variety of different local food products/goods. They also always have a good selection for gardening. Very clean store with friendly employees. I love taking my dog there ❤️

Thus store is awesome, such a variety of pet supplies, gardening as well as farm supplies. The staff are very friendly and ready to help! When a sale item was not available in my size, the staff readily offered me a rain check. Wonderful service!

So this store is good if you are a pro gardener and know what you want. The sore selection is nice but customers service is severely lacking. Do not come here with questions. The works admitted to me them selfs that none of them really have any knowledge of the products for the store. I had asked more then 3 workers questions about the product hey sell in their store and all 3 had no clue in what to tell me about the products they sell. I will not be back.

I returned an item, with receipt and CS was excellent. I decided to exchange the dog harness for another which was also no problem. Their selection is excellent and I find prices to be reasonable. Yesterday another CS person was very helpful. I definitely recommend this store.

I've been saving myself the stop and coming right here for what I need as apposed to tractor supply lately. Both stores in Batavia are really lacking in their equine supplies but if either store is going to have what I'm looking for it's this one. They have a massive variety of dog foods, toys and treats. Reasonably priced bird feed and feeders of all kinds.

It's great having one in Batavia again! This one is modern and not a large walk in freezer! Great selection of products I love their self wash dog area. They do need to correct the lack of incline in at least the tub I used, barely drained. Harder to dry off your dog in standing water.

Amazing store me and my babe love this place they have everything from crawfish and minnows to plants fish reptiles small fuzzy pets birds, pretty much anything awesome for your home is there. The staff is super nice, and helpful, checkout has always been speedy. So happy they opened the one in batavia😁😁😁

I live closer to Geneseo, but can't stand going as no one seems to have any knowledge on the animals they sell. So I drive to Batavia. The few extra minutes on my drive is so worth it too. The staff is friendly and helpful. But Dustin is extremely knowledgeable on absolutely everything they have. I spend months researching the pets I own before I get them to make sure I provide adequate care, it seems he does too. Dustin takes the time to make all the animal displays look beautiful, and to make sure the health of the animals they sell are pristine. Ive never gone to a country max and met a worker who puts so much time and effort into their job, and on top of that he's extremely personable and is a joy to talk to. I spend a lot of time and money on my hobby, and for a local pet store Batavia country max will remain my pick thanks to Dustin.-Shawnna'

The quality of ones visit to this establishment will depend on what you are purchasing. If buying dry goods and animal supplies they are knowledgeable and helpful. if shopping for a new pet. You may find the quality of animal care and direction for care of a new pet to be a little lacking.

Batavia new store is beautiful.I took my cat to give it a bath everything worked great was easy. Until I got home.As soon as we got in the door I realised a big flea. I did not have flea trouble before I went there.

This place is amazing! They have everything I need for my pets for a decent price. The crickets are 6 cents less then the price at Petco so I come here for them. The staff are really helpful and friendly.

Country Max was a very cool store to visit.I loved the themed areas in Country Max like the fish and aquarium area was like a pirate ship that you walk into to look at their selection of freshwater fish and their aquarium supplies.A great joy to shop at Country Max and I would highly recommend them for your pet supply and other cool thongs they have to offer.

They have a huge variety of dog foods, treats, and toys. Especially Kong brand toys which are nice and durable. My little Boston Terrier was able to come in and pick out her own new toys. They even have 2 dog baths in the back! No skunky sprayed dogs though.

New store to the area...went for grand opening..clean....neat...good variety of pet supplies. The flowers and trees looked great. Went back last week to buy a tree. Talked to 2 employees who really didnt know anything about the trees. They were friendly and tried to help and one even tried to find the info I wanted on the internet!!!

First time visit and it was a really nice place, much like a Tractor Supply but more geared towards animals, so they had a lot of animal supplies you would not find at say Rural King or Tractor Supply, plus they also have aquarium supplies and fish.

All the prices on any live feeder fish, insects, crustaceans, is really worth the price. Everytime I buy feeder fish or insects like superworms, they all come free of diseases and are VERY fat and healthy except for the feeder guppies. The guppies tend to have a back disease so they are very slow which is good for feeding but not breeding. The superworms and crickets are extremely healthy and large, like they are basically trains and it feels like I am stealing each time I buy superworms, it is so worth the price. The fish tanks and reptile terrariums is well worth the price and is very much a steal. I will definitely be doing business with them again very soon.

Every time I come here I wait 10 min at the least just for insects when the employees are just stocking or not paying attention,they are misinformed about information needed for the reptiles and other animals their selling overall it’s just the younger staff that obviously don’t care.The prices and insects are good here ya just gotta expect to be in there 20 min.Dustin has good knowledge on a lot of the reptiles and is a big help I can’t say for any of the others though.

Gil who waited on me was very distracted and kept taking off and forgetting what i asked for. I was over priced on my purchase. Double. My fault i didnt check the reciept till after i left. I just knew it seemed really high.And to top it off 2 of the five fish didnt make it through the night. I wont be returning here. I usually use the one in geneseo. Ill stick to that branch.

Best place around to get propane refills. $9 is better than $20 for exchange that's for sure. Staff has always been friendly and super helpful.
