This place robs you. Bad business. We’ll never book a trip here. No rain checks unless u cancel 14 day before. Heavy rain is coming this weekend. Called Tuesday to rebook our trip and we got a NO. No refunds. No rain checks. Friends of ours got a bunk house and they lost their money too. We were all going to rebook for April. They would have gotten more money out of us if they allowed this. Instead they said policy is they take your deposit no refunds unless u cancel 14 days before. ? Said it was going to be sunny this weekend 14 days ago. They have to pay their bills by robbing us. We’ll never come here again. Bad policy. We’ll find a new spot with a better policy. A policy that puts the customer first not the pockets of the owner.

This place reserves a piece of my heart. I consider it one of my homes away from home. Great location, great staff. Our group has been going up for decades now. Best chance to unplug, enjoy nature, and revel in the natural beauty of the Delaware. We've kayaked, canoes, and rafted and would recommend them all. Have an expectation for no cell service, for sulfur water, and sitting outside in the rain and you'll have a great time.

We've been camping & rafting here with my son's Scout troop & friends for a few years & it's always a good time!Great location, run well by good people! If you're doing rafting, I recommend this one, not the others.

STILL TRAUMATIZED! Came here in the summer of 2021 with a group of friends. The first day we got there we went to the Barryville store to check in and get wood for the fire and etc. We were being watched the entire time as we were the only colored people in the store. We paid for EVERYTHING! Just for this racist lady to say we stole. I can tell she was just waiting to find something to say to us. She grabbed the receipt from out of my hands and walked back into the store. She then apologized because everything in our bags was paid for!! We told her we paid for everything but she dismissed us. It has been 3 years since the incident and I’m still traumatized! I couldn’t sleep at night and wanted to go home immediately! There was continuous staring and slurs being made. African Americans & Hispanics STAY AWAY!

We rented 2 rafts from Kittatinny but their directions are so poor and their signs are non existent. They told us to look for the red barn a mile from their last pick up point but the barn must have burned down because we never saw it. Luckily Joe from Indian Head canoes helped us get on shore and called Kittatinny to tell them to come pick us up. He ended up calling them 3 times because they just left us. We were a party of 10 with 4 kids. After an hour without being picked up Joe drove us back to our car 9 miles up river. Out of the kindness of his heart, after working all day, because of the negligence of Kittatinny. Should have gone with Indian Head Canoes.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCEDecided to take an end of summer camping trip with family, which included younger kids. Our plan was to get away from the bustling city and enjoy the sounds of wilderness and quiet nights. Instead, a camp site very close to ours was blasting extremely loud music late into the night. The camp specified that quiet hours started at 10pm. With no one to enforce this however, campers nearby took advantage and we couldn't enjoy any quiet let alone any kind of sleep. On one occasion we had to walk over and ask for them to turn the music down at least. The receptionist was less than helpful, instead of showing some sympathy or understanding, the receptionist simply said "nothing I can do." We let security know the in the morning, but come night time the music continued. I am highly disappointed in the experience. At the very least they could've offered some sort of compensation for the bad experience but instead " nothing I can do" continue to be the response we got. If you are looking to enjoy nature this is not the place for you. Never going back there!

I called to see if it was possible to bump our camping and rafting reservations from Th/Fr/Sa to Fr/Sa/Sun and the rep helped me right away since our site had an opening. Thank you for your flexibility! Will update once we complete our stay :)

We LOVE Indian Head Canoes! Amazing area, peaceful stay! This is our go to for a getaway and adventure away from the city! We have been coming for over 5 years now, they go above and beyond with needs or questions. They have even helped us off the river more than once! lol Very attentive and we always feel safe whether it be a canoe, kayak, tube, or raft. One time, they even left us sleeping bags when we decided on the river to camp unprepared! We will be back soon! These are my number one referral for amazing sights, and great tranquil time away from the busyness of life.

Indian Head Canoes was an experience itself! My family and I decided to each get our own kayaks to paddle down the upper Delaware River. Being that it was our first time and choosing the 9 mile ride it took a turn for the worst. We made it 8 miles strong after being exhausted from the heat and time was coming to a close. We had stopped at a nearby cabin and called up our rental to explain the situation. Luckily one of their staff members were nice enough to retrieve the kayaks and bring us back to their grounds. We had a fun time but just didn’t expect the long journey. Be prepared for rugged rapids and pesty insects, I’d advise you to bring big spray!

Interaction with the staff was superb. They were all friendly, professional and offered interesting historical facts, nature sightings and fun tidbits. Great day on the water. Felt very safe and had fun in the rapids. My 5 year old was over the moon excited.

This was our 4th adventure to Indian Head and each year has been spectacular. The river is the lifeblood, the people are fun and supportive, and the atmosphere is fun loving. We always travel with a large group and if you keep it to a dull roar no one seems to be bothered. We couldn't get a bunkhouse this year due to high volume, however the cabins were more than adequate. We've had friends tent before and they had an equally good time. Plan to keep coming back forever

Cabins are always clean, great location on the river.Jenn in Matamoras where we bussed up to Pond Eddy was bright, bubbly and cheerful. Glad to have met you Jenn and you were the beginning to a beautiful day. Hope to see you next year!

We were very exited for this trip. When we arrived (Saturday) the campground was very crowded. Thankfully it cleared out by about 1/2 at Sunday morning checkout. We had a beautiful site (12 and Abe Lincoln cabin) right by the water for 13 people total. The spot we had was wonderful, full experience of camping riverside. Site 12 did not have a grill as it should have. Thankfully some members of our group were in the cabin which did have a grill. We did a 9 mile river trip on Monday which was great. The staff were friendly and helpful with one exception. The sink in the cabin backed up and flooded the room. My friend went to the office, but it was closed so he knocked on the owners door (he lives in a cabin on the grounds). He only wanted to report the issue and request use of a mop for cleanup. The owner was rude and handed over a plunger, not a mop. When that friends wife went back to request a mop, she was yelled at and told she should "train her husband better". Anyway, it was a whole fiasco. Finally the owners daughter showed up and she was very kind and helpful. The sink was fixed when we returned from rafting the next day. Overall we enjoyed the trip but I have to say some of the campsites looked terrible. I would recommend only staying at a tent site if you can get one on the water. I heard the deluxe cabins were very nice , though I didn't see inside any.

Had a great time. Stayed at the Knight's Eddy campground right on the Delaware River. The staff was great, very friendly and always willing to help. They took us directly from our campsite to the raft launch and then from the landing back to camp. Campgrounds were very clean as well as the amenities. Currently planning my next trip for the summer!

It was really fun but could use some improvement, there’s only 2 bathrooms and it’s almost always dirty and it’s really far away from where we stayed like we hadda walk for like a good way to get there (it’s not that far but it’s still a hassle, there’s portable johns everywhere so that was good but it was nasty). There was no electricity or water close by, we had blow up beds for our tents and we had no way to get that done so on the floor it was ( we camped out) they should at least have an outlet of water and electricity for every site. The rafting was really really fun I would be happy to go again I loved it its a six hour thingy they view was just breathtaking. We made much of our vacation and had a blast thankyou Indianheads

Excellent little mini vacation. Honorable people. Here’s an example. In 1996, I was a young man with limited vacation opportunities. I visited Indian Head for an overnight camping trip with friends. The canoe I was assigned had a hairline crack in the hull which was invisible and, to be honest, was probably made worse by me banging into rocks & stuff. As a result, the boat leaked. It leaked pretty badly. When I told the staff about my leaky boat, they offered me a coupon for a free rental. I found that coupon last summer in an old shoebox & made a reservation. They honored a 23 year old coupon and were very nice about it.The cabins are lovely, the staff is friendly & helpful, the prices are reasonable and the views are fantastic. We’ve made this trip a twice-a-summer tradition. There’s a great little diner down the road across from the bridge. I recommend the Western Omelette. For a nice little weekend, you can’t do much better.

Worst camping experience of my life!!First of all, you are required to pay for a river trip regardless if you want to or are able to go! We had people in our group that could not go rafting for various reasons, and still had to pay for the trip!No bathrooms near our site, only disgusting portajohns where our site was. A long walk and across the street where the office is, they have actual bathrooms. I tried to drive over at one point, and a young man "guarding" the office parking lot turned me away and told me to go back to my site to park. I explained it was a bathroom emergency. He honestly appeared to enjoy sending me away regardless. He was very rude and was clearly enjoying his "authority".FYI - at the main office bathroom, there are 2 showers (that you must PAY for) and there are 2 bathroom stalls so extremely TINY that you literally can barely turn around in them! I repeat, 2 showers and 2 bathroom stalls for literally hundreds of campers.Staff overall is rude and unaccomidating. The price was outrageous for what we got. The experience was ruined for us by nearby campers who arrived to literally set up camp at 2am and partied loudly all night despite the 11pm -7am quiet rule. This was my first time at this site, and I will NEVER return. This was a last minute booking and Indian Head was the only campground with sites available (Now we know why!!!) We are going back to our favorite campsite down the road next time - CEDAR RAPIDS ! Where it is always a good time and the staff is great!

My family and I LOVE this place, the camping site we always stay on since 2014 is Brookside. Is quite, clean and most of the time we meet and make new friends, the staff is beyond nice, they are always willing to help and answer questions. We always have a blast in the river and on the camp ground. There is a nice trail close by and the view from the Eagles Bridge is beautiful.

Almost don't want to share a review because we love that it's not an overrun super busy place! We go about 2-3 times every summer with our small kids and we always have a blast! One time there was a late night party at a nearby site (not Indian Head). It bothered me, but my kids and husband slept through it. The next morning we told the staff at Indian Head and they handled it for us and all was quiet the following night.

Used to be better.. I have been bringing my kids to Indian Head for the last couple of years to go camping and rafting, but they seem to be losing their way where the rafting is going. We booked one trip and beween booking and the actual trip they twice increased the trip duration, making it a trip three times longer than the one we wanted to go on. Not a good experience to begin with, and then after we finally arrived we had to wait over an hour and a half for their shuttle back to the base. I am VERY disappointed. Brought it to their attention at check out and management seemed oblivious to the fact that they had stranded their guests just the day before.

The river was extremely low, we ended up having to pull the raft through half the trip over slippery rocks, which was incredibly dangerous. What should have taken 4-5 hours took 7.5 hours and we were charged an extra $140 for "their inconvenience". I feel they should know the conditions of the river and should have given us full disclosure prior to our trip.

This is the best rafting company on the Delaware. You get what you pay for. They have great service and they offer some really fun cabins. The best weekends are spent at their Riverside cabins, bunkhouses for bigger groups. There is something extraordinary about the Delaware. It's relaxing. When you go, make sure to bring sunscreen or long sleeves (under armour does it for me, keeps me cool in the sun, warmer on cool days). No glass bottles, and keep your trash in your raft please.

I’ve been going to this company for over 10 years. Last year they directed me to their Pennsylvania location and I was very displeased. Not only were we left to wait nearly an hour with a large group of people during a pandemic, the staff didn’t seem to care much. To make things worse, when I got home I had to be treated for ringworm from where my inner legs touched the raft, very unpleasant. We decided we wouldn’t be going back to that location. So when I called to make a reservation in Barryville this year, they told me it was their policy to have a three person minimum and I would have to pay an extra fair. I asked if this was a new policy and was told it’s always been that way. I can tell you that it has not been. It’s too bad we won’t be visiting Indianhead again, it was a good decade.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin (Bear Paw) 7 of us nice and clean but we had an unwanted guest Mouse or Rat not sure did not see it just saw the leftovers it left on the counter. I know it's camping and rodents are a part of nature but for $300 a night mice/rats should not be in the cabin. Other then that I have to tell you the staff as a whole from all the telephone calls I made to check in and the gentlemen they have working with the boats all where absolutely amazing! I really can't say enough good stuff about the staff. I cant get over the breath taking views. This place would be great if they could get Mr and Mrs mouse out of the cabin.
