Due to an encounter with a very rude employee named Justin I will never be back. He's a real tough guy with senior citizens and probably shouldn't have a customer facing job. My father asked him if he could point him in the direction of something in the store and Justin got very aggressive in letting my father know that he was busy. The employee continued to yuck it up with his pals and ridicule my father as he walked away. We did eventually get help from a very nice employee but I can't give my business to a place that allows employees like Justin to disrespect customers like that. I did speak to a manager about the situation but I'm sure nothing will be done about it. I wasn't offered a follow up conversation. I cant tolerate such disrespect towards the elderly.

Using our most recent curtis designer to redo our bathroom has been terrible. We started with one specialist who was really good. They quickly changed to another lady who they said was one of the best. Not the truth at all. After the first mishap of her design with tile and speaking with many other contractors and some designers she laid the direction the wrong way in the design so when our contractor followed her plans he had to take it apart because it looked like garbage she then tried taking no responsibility saying it's open to interpretation. We also the entire time kept telling her we didn't want expensive so then when she said each box of tile of 11 pieces was over 400 dollars that she didn't even mention when she just had us walk the showroom with no prices, didn't mention that was such an expensive tile. She also miscalculated the number of basic white tile we needed and wanted to charge us a shipping charge of 75 dollars just to ship that one box. We had to get the supervisor involved just to make the situation right. Even now we still do not have all the pieces to the cabinets we ordered. This will definitely be the last time we use this designer and because of her lack of owning up to her mistakes and trying to make things right without us having to contact a supervisor will let people know before dealing with her.

Needed good quality veneer plywood in a custom size. They were very cooperative and helpful in cutting a full sheet in half and making one additional cut to size it.

It was time to upgrade our master acrylic shower insert and laundry room. We chose Curtis Lumber based on good recommendations. Working with the designer was excellent. Her follow-up skills regarding our order were on point. Delivery was on time and placed neatly in our garage. We hired a Curtis vetted contractor from their list. All went well up until tile was installed. Crooked tile placement, numerous sized grout lines, incorrect tile placement, grab bars attached with one screw on each side inside of 3 required, missing grout/caulk. The tile around drain was not placed correctly and actually pinches your feet. These are to name a few of the problems. Two members from Curtis management came to inspect this job and agreed with us. We hired a tile professional to clean up the job, which should have been done. Unfortunately, due to the careless workmanship and to achieve the shower we desired, it will require yet other complete redo. Since the vetted contractor is not an employee of Curtis, this is not a Curtis installation. As a result, they have no responsibility for the contractor, which was much to our detriment. We are now beginning this process again, but not with Curtis Lumber.

Tony Schmidt at 84 Lumber has better quality wood then you and at a competitive price and much more respectable to my needs and patient with us customers if you want some good quality supplies go to 84 Lumber in Malta or Guilderland NY.I will never be returning to Curtis Lumber ever again i learned my lesson the hard way when they gave me moldy damp wood.UNBELIEVABLE if you are going to sell wood do it right!

I wana give these guys 100000 starsWhat an experience of politeness & HumblenessMy truck delivery was at 7 am I reached around 1 am and was trying to park side of the the store because tHey had a gate when i parked on the side the Security guard came to me saw the paperwork and told me to get inside the yard told me to park at the designated place and showed me the building for 24 restrooms and wending machines6.30 am the unloading team came knocked the door and took me to dock very very nice people hatts offfffff

I had to call and place a pretty small order for some plywood and a couple of other things. I'm not experienced with construction / home improvement projects and could only share what someone had suggested I needed. Even though my order was pretty small, from start to finish, everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, pointed me in the right direction and gave good advice. And then, they called me back to say that everything I needed was in stock at a closer store, and I had my delivery within 3 hours of placing the order. Completely satisfied with the entire experience.

Brought in a lower sash Andersen window for replacement. The person working the project center first told me it was not an Andersen window. I directed them to the glass etching that said Andersen. He then told me that is just the glass size/date (which is true) and said I would need the model/part number from the window sash sticker. I went home to look for this sticker and my windows had none. Through about 10 seconds of google'ing, I quickly found out that Andersen started placing those stickers on their windows in 2007. The glass on my window clearly stated 3-86 (March 1986).I took some quick dimensions of the glass and called Andersen directly. They gave me a part number and I had 2 replacement lower sashes on order in 5 mins.I was ready to spend more money for good customer service at Curtis, but they couldn't figure out how to take my money.Conclusion. If you know nothing about windows but can use the internet, you know more than the Curtis project center about a brand that they rep.

Expensive.Bought a wood splitting Maul. Only had two in stock, went with the heavier one. Cashier was friendly.They do have good closeout deals on things once in a while. Worth checking.

My wife and I met with a designer at Curtis Lumber to remodel a bathroom. We picked out materials and gave measurements to the designer. He told us we would have a quote in about 2 weeks. That was about a year and a half ago. No response ever. I wouldn’t recommend them for any kitchen or bath remodeling.

Told me I would be morning Delivery a week in advance for over 300 sheets of Plywood then they called me at 8 am the day I started the job and told me first stop. Here I am 4pm roof Wide Open and no Supply. This is a $12 thousand dollar order. Now I have no time to get the roof Water Tight for the Rain Coming Tomorrow. Horrible business to work with. Complete liars

Haven't been here in ages and it is as wonderful as I remembered! Friendly and extremely helpful staff! When we couldn't find what we were looking for in the wood and trim section, they immediately came to the rescue and offered alternate ideas when we all still couldn't find it. Then from a different department, we found a ceiling treatment but no prices or brochures and long lines. We took the sample back to trim and mouldings and the Sarah S., the great employee (!) got the info she needed and will call us tomorrow with prices and details. Outstanding customer service!!

Tried to exchange a pair of jeans and shirt for a different size for a family member who doesn't even live in the state of NY and had to ship them back to me. Because they didn't have the tags on them, but clearly can see have never been worn anywhere and I had the reciept for them THEY STILL WOULDNT EXCHANGE THEM. last time I even bother shopping for carhart or other clothes here. Other stores including tractor supply or ACE would have exchanged them as they have in the past for me. Terrible service from the representatives and store manager.

This is a full service lumber and hardware storeThey have the only hardwood lumber in this area. Their prices are fair and the selection is good. The quality of most of the lumber is good to excellent.The hardware selection is extensive and I have never been unable to find what I want.

We purchased a new kitchen from Curtis 3 years ago. They were great during the sale, coming to our home, offering design advice and recommendations. We purchased high end cabinets and they looked beautiful for 6 months until the finish started to peal off. Now 18 months later of feet dragging, they aren't responding. Don't buy from Curtis unless you have an attorney on retainer.

Don’t go here if you want personal one on one service. My wife and I went in to pick out 2 new bathroom vanity tops. We tried to get 2 different sales people to help us and both were turned off the minute we told them it was only 2 vanity tops. Both said the job was so small that their contractors probably wouldn’t take it. They told us to make an appointment with a designer during the middle of the week when they weren’t so busy. Ummmmm ok I work during the week too. They took our number down and said they would have a designer contact us when they are free and to set up an appointment. Well no phone call!! While we wondered around for a few more minutes we watched both sales people grab a note pad and assist other customers who I’m assuming had a much bigger project than we did.Less than impressed. I watch the TV everyday and see all the prominent builders in the area tout how great Curtis is..... I guess they are great when you spend a ton of money with them but 2 stone vanity tops are below them.
