they’re always super nice/knowledgeable and have a really good selection of more specialized fresh and salt water fish! most times i’m looking for something i can’t find at the big box stores they will have it. they have a great selection of tanks, bins of hard scape rocks, and really cool drift wood too!

Benson Fish Room is great! I have a nano tank that I keep small tetras and freshwater shrimp. Their tanks are clean and their specimens are healthy. Staff is also knowledgeable and friendly. It's a bit of a drive for me but worth it!

A good selection for a hobbyist. They have fresh and salt water fish, tanks and accessories. Stock rotates often but not too often, so if they don't have something I know they'll have it in within a few weeks. Only animal I've ever bought from them that presented as sick or died was a mystery snail. Fish can be expensive, which is something to keep in mind when buying schooling fish. All around a pleasant store with a good atmosphere and helpful staff.

Amazing little fish shop. Great level of selection of dry and live goods for both saltwater and freshwater tanks. Also really nice selection of corals last time I was there. Had to catch myself from drooling last time I was there. Best coral selection in the area hands down. For saltwater they perform a week of quarantine and observation which is amazing and not common. One area they could improve on is a better selection of frozen foods but not enough to knock off a star. Staff seems very knowledgeable and friendly as well.

Great fish store that just recently opened. Has a large selection of freshwater fish, especially African cichlids and at least 5 species of rainbows when I went (Gary Lange’s strain of emerald rainbows, millennium, New Guinea, dority, and eight line). Great selection of betta fish also, the people take real pride in the way they run their business and the fish are healthy. Great selection of food and treatment products and hardscape as well. They also have a large selection of live plants and shrimp. Overall great place to go for freshwater hobbyists, the saltwater section has not been set up yet but it looks to be coming together great, just an FYI. Prices are also very reasonable. Visited 12/24/19. Pictures were taken of my home tank.

I once came here back in 2019.... and could not recommend any other place than Bensons.... anyone of them was very helpful it doesn't matter who you interact with you are guaranteed you get all your questions answered.

Good saltwater and dry goods selection. Matt and Sam are very knowledgeable. Subtracted one star for owner's oddball individual pricing on tests typically sold by box/kit elsewhere and online for significantly less.

Used to go here all the time and it was great. Came back recently and first of all, the fish were overpriced. The staff used to be helpful and knowledgeable, but it seems like most of the knowledgeable employees left. The only person who seemed to know what he was talking about was busy helping high paying saltwater customers. They were also understaffed. The person at the register messed up the price and almost overcharged us. About a week later all my fish came down with ich. Not sure it was their fault, but I will not be coming back.

Great selection on anything and everything you need for your fish❤️❤️ even got an adorable Falco hawkfish for our saltwater. Plus, some gorgeous orange rili shrimp. The two gentleman that helped my husband and myself were super awesome and very knowledgeable about their fish and corals. Definitely recommend these guys to anyone I know that are into fish

This store is absolutely beautiful and the staff are all wonderful. Extremely helpful (Emily helped us out), patient with my desire for loaches that refuse to be caught, and listened to my different stories about my fish experiences so far. They even special ordered a glass lid for my brothers 75 gallon. I will 1,000% be coming back here and highly recommend taking a trip here, even if just to see the amazing assortment of fish.

Fantastic place. We just bought a new house and finally have the room for a fish tank which I’ve wanted for a while so today was the day. We chose Benson’s because the reviews looked very promising. I can most certainly say that even 5 stars doesn’t do it justice. We live 40 minutes away and I promise that the drive is most definitely worth it. I’d much rather make the drive here than settle for any of the local or chain pet stores around here.You can tell immediately that all of the fish are so very well taken care of. The store is very nice and clean and has a decent selection of anything you need. Customer service was on point. We were greeted when we walked in and asked if we needed help. I’m ashamed to say I don’t remember what the girls name was who helped is but she was great. Gave us a run down of all the tanks and found which one would suit us the best. I was torn between fresh and salt water and she walked me through the pros and cons of each until I decided on a fresh water tank. She then made sure we got everything we needed to get it started. I’m excited to get everything set up and I will most certainly be back when it comes time to get fish and any other aquatics needs.

Staff is always friendly and helpful. An excellent store to shop if you are a novice as the staff are knowledgeable and willing to take the time to pass their wisdom. Also a good store if you yourself are knowledgeable as they have a wide and vast selection of accessories, equipment and fish. If they don't have something, chances are they can get it if you're willing to wait. Almost once a week we drive 45 minutes to an hour out to the store and each visit is nearly as magical as the first. Prices are competitive. Pricing on some items is significantly less than big corporate retailers.

A lady who works here made a simple but mildly frustrating,misunderstanding, right. I've worked in sales, business and customer relations for a long time, She did exactly what you should do when helping a guest, she was understanding and friendly, and I left with smile, She is the only reason I may go back. She gets 5 stars, everyone who was rude and dismissive gets 0 stars.There's nothing wrong with the stock and products, but lots of places have those. A retail store has to want people to want to come back. Consumers pick and choose where to spend their money, and it's the store's job to make us want to spend our money there. A bad experience can turn into a great one and a lifelong customer, guest services 101. You can even nip it in the bud before its even considered a "bad experience". It may have been the owner I first ran into and calmly explained my situation to, no Karen demands, I just had questions, who dismissed me, but I'm not sure. I trust the fish quality over Petsmart, but Eddie's Aquarium Sales is super friendly, informative, and has great fish, so I'll probably be going there until Bensons's takes goes to a sales conference and learns a few things.

Where do I begin? I guess ill start with.... WOW!!! What an amazing shop! Today was my first visit and can say with confidence it will not be my last. I had the pleasure of working with Matt and it was a very enjoyable shopping experience. The store is very clean and inviting. The tanks are crystal clear and not over crowded. And the prices are very reasonable. If you have a tank or are thinking of setting one up, I would advise you to stop in and see what they have to offer!

This is a nice place to buy fish and supplies. Prices are great. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Would have gave you five stars but the last two times we have been there there has been a gentleman there with out a mask on. I understand it is his right not to wear one but with health issues your store was one of the few places I felt good coming into . Probably will be a while before I come back.

We have homed many fish from this location. The fish are all quarantined for almost a month before being sold, and that shows how well you can trust the health of these fish.The prices are even pretty good. They do have a lot of fish from local breeders which makes it even better.The only thing I wish that changed is the online presence, an updated social media or website that shows stock. But that's moreso a preference.Say hi to Felix! He will most likely smile at you!

Hands down the absolute best please to go for all your aquatic needs. Fish are top quality and always changing so you're never looking at the same stuff week after week. All the staff are extremely knowledgeable,friendly and helpful. They have there own brand of food that my fish absolutely love. I can go on and on about BFR the store,staff,fish and everything else. I will definitely continue to shop here.

It has been a long time since I walked into an Aquarium fish store and was surprised. Store Mgr Jessie was wonderful, kind, and patient with an old man like me. She helped me with fish, and plants, and a salt water Mangrove (extremely useful!) without ever rushing me. Matt was there (I recognize talent from past stores.) The special trip out there was WELL WORTH it. Not close to my house (37 minutes one way) but well worth the trip. AND they have a LOT of Freshwater planted aquariums. (VERY RARE.) very glad that I made the trip!

Purchased a large tank and sump filter for hundreds less than I would have paid online. Came back again for almost everything else because this is the opposite of a big chain pet store: The employees know their stuff and can actually answer your questions, the fish and plants are very well cared for and their tanks are always nice and clean. Well worth the extra drive.
