--- 2023/11/20 ---They were busy today heading into Thanksgiving, but staff was friendly as always.--- ORIGINAL REVIEW ---Better than average semi-rural grocery store with all the basics and even some upscale options. We visit the Avon location nearly weekly when in town and with Costco... we don't have to deal with Walmart and other big box stores we don't like spending at.

Very overpriced and low quality, easily comparable to gas stations and convience stores. I will spend the extra in gas to go to Wegmans or Walmart for better quality and better prices. Compare for yourself.

Very nice tops. Looks clean. Checkout was quick. Stoped in for a premade wrap. They also had breakfast pizza available.

Tops Friendly Markets was very cleans and incredibly organized. All of the carts were taken care of by the incredibly polite cart boy who always greets everyone with a smile on his face. The greeters at the door were also very nice and helpful by keeping all of the carts probably sanitized. The store itself was obviously cleaned regularly and up to code. The staff were all very helpful helping to find the various items on my list and checkout was a breeze with there self checkout area. Overall an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone living in Avon or the surrounding area.

Multiple times we have gone there and they have not had vegan options. Once, no dairy free yogurt. Another time no vegan frozen Amy's entrees. Another time no beyond meat options. Tonight, not one single dairy free ice cream in the whole store! Not one. ?! Of any brand! Clearly they need a new manager in the frozen and dairy sections. 🤦‍♀️

Visit is after the grand reopening. New coat of paint, same store. Expired product on the shelves (by a couple weeks), over priced merchandise (compared to Wegmans), awkward store layout, temperamental self checkout, and of course middle of the day staff is blocking aisles to stock shelves. Visit for the nostalgia.

I just had a fish fry and lobster bisque soup from Tops store in Avon, NY.The soup was just a liquid (no lobster)and no taste.The fish was an overcooked very thin fish with a very thick( breading.It didn't taste good at all.Last time I'll go there.Now I know why Wegmans is so successful.

My first time at Avon Tops market as a recent newcomer to the area. I usually shop at Aldi up in Henrietta for the value and excellent products but had difficulty getting a discounted turkey, cranberry sauce and carrots in preparation for the holiday. Supply chain issues likely the reason. Well, not only did Tops have exactly the size turkey I was looking for but the price was even lower than Aldi. Between the cranberry sauce,carrots and other items I could use I more than made the $30 purchase required for this awesome price. I promptly opened a loyalty card as I plan to return on a regular basis.

There is a reason Wegmans is rated as a great grocery store(minus their ridiculous prices) compared to tops. Every experience I’ve ever had here has been absolutely terrible and whoever the manager is here should be fired. But because tops is such a terrible business, they will never read this post or read it and think “this guy is an outlier”. Their wrong. Garbage company through and through

I love it there. It's mostly affordable considering inflation. Make sure to get the card for extra savings. It doesn't cost extra and helps save a boatcload of money

Best/only grocery store in town. Quality and price went up significant when chain was bought out a few years ago. No reason to choose Tops over Wegmans now unless you don't want to drive 15 minutes to get there. No reason to avoid Tops if you're nearby and want quality products.

Tops has a good selection at low prices and they're open around the clock which is nice. This place isn't worth visiting without a Tops card because all the savings come with the membership. My only complaint is that the store is understaffed, I've never seen more than 2 registers open at a time and sometimes it's difficult to find help from employees.

It's a supermarket, a large supermarket at that, but hardly a place to was poetic over. Tops offers specials like 2 for 1 on entenmens donuts, but you don't find out you need a tops card until you look and find you haven't gotten the discount. Cashier should ask and then offer an application if you don't have their discount card. Not happy with this.

Easy to find items, long lines but the cashiers are kind and patient even when the customers are not. The manager saw my 2 kids and I in a long line and turned on the last registrar approached me and opened another line just to help! Thanks Laura

wow. if all tops markets were this nice, I would shop there more. They have all made progress in the last few years but this one smells nicer than most and is clearly run by folks who get whatever Wegmans has. I was very impressed. Normally shop at Winton or Gates Tops which are not quite there yet.

AWESOME, they had dried figs for baking Cuccidati available early enough in the season and extremely accessible. I didn't have to wander around the store to find them. THANK YOU TOPS!

Stopped on my way to work to pick up 2 items and ended up leaving them at the checkout because the woman ahead of me needed 9 cans of Enfamil, so the cashier had to go over to the middle checkout and bring them over in 2 trips. There was only 1 checkout open and I couldnt go to customer service because I had produce. Had to leave after her first trip because I would have been late to work if I had waited.Why is baby formula kept at the checkout instead of the baby section? And why was there only 1 checkout open? There should always be at least 2. I purchased those 2 items at WEGMANS later that day instead.

I like the prices and save alot with my bonus card. The clerks are friendly, too. The store is big enough to offer a variety of foods, but not so big it is overwhelming.

They are a 2 in every sense of the rating... poor selection of fresh / prepared foods, prices aren't much better than a gas station, shelves are poorly planned and items are hard to find. Ugh. On the other hand, at least they are here. Many small towns don't have a market.

I was at tops in avon ny yesterday and i am not one to do this but the young lady i had checking me out was soooooo rude and miserable i had to ask for my monopoly peices and she said she gave them to me and thew the one that was already on the counter and i said no cause that one was there and i actually won 2 not one but i was so annoyed at how rude she was i just walked away didn't even care so if u go to tops in avon stay away from the young lady Elizabeth.i understand it was A holiday and maybe she wanted to be with her family but she still didn't have to be that rude.

Unfortunately there is no way to put negative starts here . Multiple time I come here even ask manager to do his job and they flat out refuse had me waiting for over 30 minutes and refuse to do what was needed . Very poor attitude and terrible customer service and experience .
