Not thrilled. The atmosphere is fun, and the food quality was decent. But the portion size for the price was poor. The large onion ring basket for $6 was literally 7 or 8 rings total, and most were half-dollar size or smaller. They forgot part of my husband’s sandwich. They left the onion straws off his prime rib sandwich. By the time they brought them he was 3/4 finished. The pizza looked good, but we didn’t get it.

The place is really cool. When I got there they was finishing a huge order and did a fantastic job. The atmosphere is awesome and I would have overlooked this place with having a local person tell me about it. Check it out.

Stopped to get quick lunch and gift certificate for a friend. Ordered a bowl and a cup of chili. Waited 45 minutes for what should of been a quick in and out. And it was nearly warm. Several people who ordered after us and got sandwiches were served before. Would not recommend.

These guys make really damn good sandwiches and homemade chips. The whole staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home like one of the locals with their kindness and cozy atmosphere. An absolute must if you’re in the Chautauqua area!

Excellent food quality even with the new owners. Fast, fresh, friendly, delicious, affordable, and convenient! The Chicken wing sub is a favorite, with the house tossed salad and a dozen medium wings!

This is one of my “go-to” places every time I come home. They have excellent subs and pizza. My favorite is the pizza sub. However, they have a big selection of different subs to try. They also have a great coffee area and gift shop. And even more - they serve a REALLY great breakfast.

So happy, after a year, to revisit lunch at Ashville General Store, Ashville, NY. The store is so charming. It has that really old timey feel. Lots of terrific products, and a good section of unique gifts.The highlight for me is the delicious homemade food. Yesterday we enjoyed a chucky potato and leek soup, served very hot. Quite delicious! The soups are always a good choice. For my main lunch I enjoyed a meatloaf sandwich, served on a house made sesame roll. Nothing like a scrumptious meatloaf on a tasty and fresh sandwich roll!As ever the food didn't disappoint! If you haven't eaten at Ashville General Store, you'll be delighted to try it.

Great place for snacks, craft beers and unique gifts. The food is awesome. I like the RaRa chicken salad and the breakfast sandwich. I wish every town had a cool place like this

Really great food! I was actually pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and the variety that was offered. It really does emanate that old time general store feel—very authentic. The owners have gone to great lengths to preserve that vibe, which is really cool! But the food, that was the total shocker. It is highly recommended. The store itself has an eclectic collection of this and that, nickel-and-dime-type candy/toy selection, but also quality pieces of earthenware, kitchenware, gifts, etc. This place is a hidden gem! It’s too bad they sell alcohol there. We did experience a drunk in the middle of the day who was very boisterous and disruptive. He actually scared the kids and they wanted to go.

One of the most awesome places to grab a bite to eat. The breakfast is killer, I recently had the jumbo French toast with a side of bacon and a toasted hard roll. It was all delicious. Last year when I visited I had a big pile of breakfast hash. The front deck is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the meal. Someday I hope to grab lunch here as I understand it's every bit as excellent.

This place is a legend. Creative names for the food, and everything is delicious. Counter service with inside and outside booths & tables. Perfect for your sub and pizza fix, but they also sell a lot of beverages, snacks, old-time candies you haven't seen since you were a kid, and local crafts. Every time I return, it's like I've come back home.

Was SO excited to try their sandwich...seen previous photo of their prime rib sandwichWhat a disappointment. Can't tell the difference between their beef on weck(besides the bun) and the prime rib and only get 8 french fries for $11.99And this picture is of the remake, so disappointed 😞The toasted buns were the best thing about the sandwiches

We love 'The General' pizza, and they have the best subs in town. Wide variety of snacks, old fashion candy, drinks, munchies, handmade soaps, and books by local authors - just a small list of all the fun stuff you can find here. It's totally worth the visit.

I was visiting my sister who seems to know everyone in the world. We stopped here, had a few slices of wonderful pizza, chatted with the customers on the front porch seating area and had a great time. This is a wonderful little store. If I didn't live 14 hours away I'd be a regular here.

Ordering was fast and easy, but the taste isn't the same as it used to be. The General half that was mine had way too much sauce. I like to be able to taste it, but half an inch to an inch is too much. And my husband said his red sauce half wasn't as good either. The price is also very high too, nearly $30 for a pizza

We had breakfast there and it was really good. It was also a surprise for my birthday. The food was great and the wait time for it wasn't long. They have nice area inside to eat or you could sit outside on the deck. It's lovely. All the people there are very polite. It's a store/ restaurant. I am going to go there again. They have a table where you can put cards under the glass showing that you had been there. Here's mine.

Winter with my brother several times that breakfast sandwich is so good. Everybody was so nice. What an interesting shop. I wish I'd bought some of those socks for my girlfriend. She would have got the kick out of them the naughty ones...haha

I love this place! Order some of their amazing food and wander the store while you wait. There are so many fun trinkets and items in there to browse. The atmosphere is very homey and welcoming. The staff is kind and warm and you just really want to stay a while! Check it out for yourself!!
