So unprofessional from the staff to the supervisor even to the mail carriers. It’s ridiculous but I see a lot of people have the same issues with this post office. They’re rude and abuse their authority. If you make any complaints they want to penalize you as far as with holding your mail because you want them to do better. They need new management and supervisor. She’s not trying to improve anything.

Mail woman is rude and unprofessional. They never deliver your packages. They come and put a paper in the mailbox saying they tried to deliver your package. The mail person only put mail in the mailbox and sometimes they put your package on the floor in the lobby. They don’t deliver it to the door if it can’t fix in the mailbox. This postal office is unprofessional. They don’t answer the phone and when go to pick up your package they say it’s out for delivery.

One of the worst post offices ever. Please choose another office with a better rating to drop off/pick up your packages at. They almost always have 1 employee working who sounds like they're done with life. If this post office is the one delivering your packages that aren't mail envelopes/small items, good luck getting it. They will never deliver it and leave a message saying "delivery attempted"

It is very difficult to get a hold of anyone at this post office. They told me they would call me with updates on one of the deliveries and never did. Since they don't answer their phone I had to repeatedly drive down there.While at the post office, the manager had me wait 45 minutes. There was several other people at the branch also complaining about not receiving their packages. Everyone I spoke to said that this USPS branch is notorious for "losing" packages. Even the employees acknowledged that A LOT of the packages never reach the recipient.Overall, horrendous experience and a lot of lost time because of this place. I typically use USPS, but if you live in the area around here, you would be in much better hands using UPS or Fedex. If you have to use USPS for deliveries, I would recommend going to another branch.

This place is terrible to be the local post office . Dirty, understaffed , nothing available for you to ship . No labels no tape .no pens nothing . At that usually 1 person on staff that hates their job it seems.

This post office is so irresponsible. The carriers are always misdelevering packages ON PURPOSE. They mark packages as couldn't be delivered without even trying to deliver. Then when you go to the post office to pickup they never could find packages. I strongly believe this local office should be investigated because it's either the carriers are stealing or they are throwing packages in the garbage.

Very bad customer service, my package is at the post office but no one seems to find it?!?I called and waited over an hour to talk to someone. I finally, go and pick it up myself but, when I arrived they told me it never came there so where is my package exactly?? It was later found beneath all the others in bad condition with all my items spilling out of a broken box...They need to start doing their job better... or at the very least, find something more suitable.

I have been living in this Post Office’s jurisdiction almost my whole life. Within the last 10 years or so, this place has been getting poorer and poorer with their in-store customer service, mail and package deliveries and overall attitude. One person at window for a full line almost out the door? Mail not being delivered because of a dog that is secured in the residence? Unprofessional and disgusting attitude from the in-store and mail delivery workers? If I could give this review negative stars, I definitely would. I intentionally go to the Post Office at Rockaway Park or Cross Bay to conduct my business because I do not want to be bothered with the negativity and unprofessional staff at Arverne, nor do I trust them to basically to do the bare minimum of their job. Unacceptable.With that being said, I will say this. This review is for the MAJORITY of the staff there. Some that work there are the complete opposite and are very helpful with positive intentions.

I was expecting to get a package delivered today. I checked multiple times and nothing. At 5pm I checked and there was a truck down the street so I thought great it should be there. I got an alert at 507 that there was an attempted delivery but they couldn't access the drop off location. I asked the mail Carrier about it and she said it wasn't her. Ok well do you have a box for me? If I had one you would get it. Great thanks for being rude.

This is one of the nastiest dirtiest post offices I ever been to please refer to the pictures that I put into my comments... The floors are never clean. The walls and the ceiling are absolutely disgusting. And customer service is not existence!!!... Extremely rude workers!!!!... Always talking to each other instead of working.This place needs new management. I wish I could give 0 Stars. This needs to be knocked down and "rebuilt" into a proper postal service building.

They never deliver my package if it’s little big, none they live any recipe in my mailbox,so I can pick up fm post office & when I go pick up they give so much hard time without receipts, stuff r so rude.I hve lost so much of my mail like that

I wish I could give 0 stars. This location is an absolute abomination to the USPS brand.It takes on average 45 minutes to an hour just to mail a package at this location, due to extremely long lines, only one staff at the window, let alone that the staff at the window is unprofessional and careless.A supervisor is rarely available on site, and should you happen to speak to one, he or she does not care about the long lines, the long wait, and he or she does not care about their USPS staff arriving to work late. I’ve never been to such post office before, where the window is abandoned, because staff are arriving to work late.It’s an absolute shame that I have to drive out my way to USPS-Lawrence, NY in order to receive appropriate service. The Arverne location will never improve unless the community speaks up. We are all tax paying human brings here and deserve professional and reliable service like any other community. Stop settling for this garbage. We are better than this.

It's true. People only make reviews when they have something negative to say so here goes. HORRIBLE POST OFFICE. They always leave the little slip saying they tried to deliver the package and it's a damn lie. It had happened on more than one occasion and also, the post office is a government agency. They are supposed to have their sidewalk clear. When there was a big storm a month ago their sidewalk was covered and the surrounding ones were not. They really need to get their act together before they fire everyone and hire new white people.

I ordered a package that fed ex dropped at this post office in September to date i still have not received the package. When I had the clerk track it she told me she would need to get in touch with the carrier due to him forgetting to leave a key for me to obtain the package.The phone is constantly busy.I've had multiple experiences having to stop checks send by certified mail that I was told could not be tracked (which is the purpose of mailing certified) and even told I could not be reimbursed. Pick any day or any time I guarneee you the line is out the door with one clerk.

Went on a weekday, only one person working. She was nice to the African American customers in front of me, but when it was my turn, guess she just doesn't like Asian. Her attitude changed instantly. I asked for stamps for a return envelope, she said (proudly) that "her USPS" only carries $0.55 stamps, so there is a big chance that we all will have no choice but to pay more to cover the postage. Ok, I really wanted to sent the items out today so I ok'ed to paying more. She gave me the stamps, asked me to step aside, didn't give me the chance to place the stamps quickly and give the parcel back to her, she took the next customer. That's cool. While I was putting on the stamps, she said loudly "ma'am, I will need you to move away from my customer". I looked up and asked "me?" She said I was standing too close to "her customer". Even tho I was also her customer whom she should be servicing at that moment, I grabbed the rest of the stamps and moved to the other side of the counter. I asked if this distance is okay, she immediately lectured me that she did not set the rules, the government set the rules, if i want to blame anyone, blame the government. Now I see why this place is one star.

Do they even doing anything? Two packages, first one suppose to be delivered yesterday, I was home all day, 5 pm checking the trucking number, notice was left 10 minutes ago... No one was nocking on the door or anything, checked the mailbox, no notice either. Went back to the office this morning to pickup, the guy told me the package was not in the post office either. Second package also schedule to be delivered today, 6:49 pm, same thing, notice was left, no one knock the door, no notice either.

This post office is horrible. Service is extremely slow no matter if you are the first customer of the day. There is always a long line. They do not deliver mail to proper addresses, I constantly get other peoples mail. They NEVER even attempt to deliver packages they will just leave a slip in your box. Their customer service is terrible as well. Also the post office is always DIRTY.

Never delivered my packages at home and they don't even leave a Note by the mailbox. I waited hours and hours for the mail person to show up and when that person show up, it put a letter from another person that doesn't even live the house. When I went to the post office, they come up with some excuse about it. So I'm like What on earth happened with my packages?! Do they lose it or stole them?Really, really bad organized, bad management and lazy employees.When I was waiting for them to see if they "found" my package, instead of hearing them asking to help them out to find a package, they end up slacking off and hearing laughter back there and gossiping around.They really need to replace the WHOLE staff. They don't do their job properly.

I've been living in this area for over a month. Still waiting for my mailbox lock to be change? I have made 4 plus complaints no lock change. Only one day he mailman has given me my mail, can't pick up from the office I work? I have never experience this mess before. email several complaints, mailman not dropping off my mail? Call get voicemail, still no damn mail??

I ship a lot of packages during the week and I've been really happy with the service at the Arverne post office. My carrier is amazing, since she started working last year, I've been able to count on consistent service, nothing ever gets lost or misdelivered. And times when I had to go in to the post office for something, the clerks have always been nice. The post office where I used to live in Brooklyn was pretty bad and I could always expect to be yelled at and treated rudely, I've never had that happen at Arverne.

Came to post office 07/22/21 afro-american teller don't want to sell me stamps for first class mail(pretend out of stock),when I asked to give me prepaid priority mail stamp she said we don't sell them here???What?It's was 4:50 pm ,10 min before location is going to be close...why those ppl wasting our time and taxpayers money? Don't want to work!!!

I recently moved to Averne. This is the worst post office I have ever been to, they keep saying that my packages have been delivered but I never received them. I have several investigations in process. I been waiting over 6 weeks to get keys for my mail box, since it's clustered mailboxes on the corner, the post office has to provide the keys. I called and they misplaced my paper work. The staff and managers need to get it together, this place is a hot mess.

There is an old black lady working there and she does not know how to do her job. They delivered my package in the wrong address and when I asked for the details of the delivery they tried to hide it from me. I had to get the paper receipt of the delivery and take a picture. Very horrible human beings who do not know how to do their job. Plus the line is long and there is only one agent working.

Never deliver packages. As per the Supervisor there "we don't deliver because my workers fear for their lives". But they all look like they're from the hood. Then maybe this is not the right job for them. Right now I'm dealing with a lost package with them. It's been 4 days and still haven't called me back. They don't deliver, lose your packages, and never leave a pickup slips. The package they lost is a $60 video game for Xbox one... Hmmmmm

It’s insane how I’m always receiving messages for deliveries saying that there was no access to a private residence that doesn’t have a fence. The USPS has the most laziest and incompetent workers known to man. I also understand that these reviews are useless because there aren’t any good reviews about the usps but nothing ever changes. So done with usps. Wish I could give a 0 star rating. I’ve been home all day and there wasn’t any attempt to deliver any packages.

Lost packages, lost mail, you can never get a hold of the supervisors nd if you fo they tell wat you want to hear to brush you off. Need new staff, nd new management. I grantee if everyone here who had something bad to say about can reach out to corporate they would do something. This is unacceptable. Go to Howard beach post office you'll see the difference.

Smh....all I can sayMove here since February. My carrier is great...thank God. But when he goes on vacation or is off, my deliveries go to mail hell!. I mostly try not to order ANYTHING if it falls on a day he is not working. If they feel the package is to big or a headache, they will LEAVE YOUR PACKAGE AT THE OFFICE, and mark "delivery attempted". Just so you can go to the office the next day, so the light skin young gentlemen with short hair, that hates to get up and look for your package to tell you "it's back on a truck", (wont even ask you for the Tracking number, just your id. NEVER GO TO HIM) (Go to the dark skin woman with glasses and curls...she is great). Just to hunt down the carrier for that day to tell you "I left it back at the office, because I cant carry those heavy boxes". Apparently it becomes a back and forth with your packages. I even made it simple and Purchased a inside mailbox doorbell. I tell all carriers "when you do the mail, if I have a package ring the bell, I WILL COME DOWN AND GET IT FROM THE TRUCK MYSELF!!!!!!, if you dont want to carry it! If you dont want to take my package leave it at the office, I WILL COME AND GET IT!!!! I will meet you more than half way.....I just want my stuff! Now ask yourself...who would do that??Make the job that you are getting paid for halfway easier???? Hmm....🤷🏾‍♀️ The light skin guy told me one time "get a post office box" , why???? Because you cant do YOUR JOB!!!! I should pay more!!! 🤬. I work at night, so I have to play stake out cop or detective 🕵️‍♀️ to hunt them down! It's insane! To be fair, were I live, there is a lot of area and doors to cover, so I really dont understand WHY they would send one carrier to cover ALL OF THAT 🤦🏾‍♀️. As I stated before some carriers will be sneaky and leave your bigger packages back at the office. So your stuff will definitely be lost in a the sea of packages. This particular post office is so dirty. The floor are crazy dirty and the employees don’t even care. How can they work like that, imagine their house gross. Plus their attitude and their poor customer service skills.
