Love this store! Service is impeccable—specifically Andrew (a real cute deli meat employee). Always helps me find what I’m looking for. He could talk to me about deli meats and cheeses all day, really knows what he’s talking about. Guy deserves a promotion and raise!! WHOO GO ANDREW!

I went here to buy some steaks, and I wasn't disappointed. Good quality and prices, probably the best in the area when it comes to meat. I also was able to find some cooking wine and some yogurt covered pretzels for a desert snack. If I ever need steaks again, I'll be back! Everything else there is just a bonus.

Garbage store....they overcharge you and then deny it. Overcharged me eighty dollars numerous times when I bought cases of chicken. They claim that their cashier undercharged me at one point but no one can tell me when. Compare your receipts with your bank statement. The receipt shows one price then the bank statement shows that they took more than the receipt shows. They got one hell of a scam going. Report them to Local Law Enforcement if you see any of these issues.

Over the past fifty years, I have shopped at innumerable grocery stores. None compares to Sweeney’s Market. It has the same, if not better, variety of goods. The prices are very competitive and the staff is helpful. The freshness of the produce and meats are beyond compare.

Sadly, I can't go back after seeing the state of the meat department on 08/12/22. There were a few sales advertised this week and I thought it would be a great time to bulk buy and freeze. There was quite a bit of pork and beef that had been prepared in July, and had a sell by date of 08/10/22. There was plenty of gray sausages, and meat that had been prepared for sale AFTER the sell by date of what was on display.For a place that had "Specializes in Meats" on their billboard, to be in that state, I had NO interest in whatever they didn't specialize in, and left immediately. I understand at 6:30pm on a Friday things will be a bit disheveled, but meat on the shelf THAT old, was sickening.Such a shame, because I've purchased meat from them happily since coming to town this year. It's incredibly sad when a local butcher has given up and can't even check their own expiration dates, for meat they prepared for sale themselves. I wouldn't in good conscience encourage ANYONE to go until there has been a serious retool of their entire business model.

Went there today for the first time in a long time on a friday at 520 PM. Went after a recomendation from a friend for meat curing supplies. Place was not very busy which i mention because the bald manager was abrupt and rude about showing up before 5 for those supplies. I explained that there was no mention of this online or any way to know this before showing up including the call i placed before i traveled with children to go there. The young lady at the meat counter was pleasant and agreed to help me given the situation and was immediately repremanded by this manager following his snippy manner dealing with me. I will find another business to deal with in the future and i do not recommend them as a business as a result. There were better ways to handle this and a simple polite mention of the rules would have sufficed. This was my experience.

I was in the area and figured I'd stop and see what they had to offer. They had updated the store since the last time I was there. I decided to order a 12" cold Italian sub. I stated it was $5.99, then I saw a sign for $6.99, but it rang up at $7.99. The sub hardly had any toppings added to it. It was like they couldn't spare more toppings. Other deli's offer a much better sub. I won't ever buy another sub from Sweeney's but I'd do some shopping from time to time. Their selection of both fresh cut Angus beef, and craft beers puts Sweeney's on my frequent visit list. The staff are always friendly. The store is always clean, neat and stocked.

Bought two 1 1/2 in. thick Rib Eyes to celebrate my first hole in one and my wife and I loved them. Every bit as good as my hole in one 'cause I grilled them up myself and they were perfect. Great local market that no big chain can match.

Very cool independent grocery store. Excellent produce and meats/deli. Expanded beer section, many craft options along with all the usual budget options. Staff helpful and friendly. Ample parking.

I have always been a fan of supporting local small businesses but was disappointed when I went in and there were two customers not wearing masks (I hate them too but I’m still wearing mine). In addition the ad stated boneless skinless chicken breast in 10 pound bags were 1.89 per pound, it rang up on the register as 2.09 per pound. I could have gone to or had my groceries delivered from a different store if I was going to pay that much without risking contact with two unmasked individuals.

What a clean and orderly grocery store! Products were well displayed and everyone who worked was friendly and helpful. Good selection of products and it's rare these days to see so many selections made right there...like sausage and smoked cheese.

Sad news... As of July 2022 Sweeney's has temporarily lost its alcohol license due to a change of ownership.An interesting little store with a surprisingly good beer selection

It's an ok. I give it 4 stars. It's a good place to stop when u need somethings and are in a hurry. It is like a mini grocery store. The store has a lot inside, ur just limited on brands. I shop there on a regular basis and I always pay cash. I never am in line for more then a few minutes, cashier always greets me and asks if I found everything ok. Prices are fair and I find Sweeney's a lot more convenient then going down town to a regular grocery store. Please be aware that Parking lot wize: please know the lot is shared by other businesses, so beware that if u drive a bigger truck u some times may find urself haveing to park over by the dollar store side.

Exit 66 of I-86, NY 17. Open 8am to 10pm.Apalachin's grocery and butcher shop. Small, neighborhood grocery has a nostalgic look and feel. Freindly staff will assist you at the deli, meat counter and checkout. Fresh beef, chicken and pork cuts. Local specialty-spiedies, available all year.Produce section is small but stocked with all the basics as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables .

Great small town grocery store. Sweenys is known mostly for the meats that they offer. The meats are really fresh everyday with onsite butchers. The prices a little higher but im fine with if that means helping out a small grocery store. Sweeneys also has a great beer department that is far none. The store is just like a major grocery store like price chopper or weis but compact and made for quick vists.

Sweeney's is a convenient destination for those that live nearby, with some decent food and various resources available. The prices are notably higher at Sweeney's for such small proportions. Some of the staff are friendlier than others, and sometimes the deals are labeled incorrectly.

The prices are quite high, but in a pinch it is fine. Makes you feel bad for people buying large amount of stuff, knowing prices are so high. Milk is twice the price of Wegmans, wow.
