This restaurant was amazing! I dined with my friends and 3 of us got salmon entrees/ salads, which was incredible here. So fresh tasty and cooked so perfectly. One of us got the pork schnitzel which was cooked perfectly as well. and We dined inside, and it was gorgeous atmosphere with pretty birch trees and other natural decor which was so interesting and beautiful. The service was the best part, everyone was so friendly and attentive. We had Amanda as our server, and all the staff were so friendly and super great service. We don't live close by, but we will be back! :)

Great first impression upon arrival. Loved the decor. Service was excellent despite a packed house. Food was amazing and the portions were huge! I don't drink, but those that did said it was made properly and not watered down. We live 45 minutes away but definitely worth the drive.

As has been previously stated, the atmosphere was cute, quaint, cozy, rustic, so if you’re into that type of thing, you’re gonna really enjoy that aspect of the restaurant. The food was mediocre, uninspired. We were told they don’t do prime rib anymore because it’s too expensive. Everything else was just average and really uninspiring. Garlicky garlic. The career waitress provided bare bones service, clearly didn’t want to be there and couldn’t care less about giving us a nice experience. Interesting place with potential but we won’t be back.

Have been going to the Pond for year. It was a favorite of my Aunt and Mother. In the past several months the prices have jumped (again) and selection, serving size and quality seems to be decreasing. Many items on the menu are not available. In the past I've enjoyed the Wienerschnitzel but the last time I had it it tasted of burnt oil. I know they were trying to sell the place, guess they decided to pad the books by raising prices and cutting quality.

The property is amazing, great views. Came in on burger night and got a burger fries and a beer for $15. One of the best burgers I’ve had, with the bacon jam. it was a hard choice because the other dinners on the menus looked fantastic. Chatted with the co owner, she’s awesome too. Kudos to the chef!!

Cute, rustic restaurant in the hilly area of Ancram. I had the duck special and my mother had the veal piccata and they were both very tasty. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. It's a nice meal with a nice adventure to get to it!

Beautiful view the beautiful building Stephanie home that was behind the bar and also serving me was absolutely lovely and really sold the place. But unfortunately the food was Mediocre. Alright for a quick Bite nothing special. My seafood Chowder was all unpeeled potatoes No seafood and just look like dirty water in there. Clams casino look like a clam with some stove top stuffing on top. It Would-be a beautiful place of the just got a top rate chef.

I wish I could give them zero star. The worst food i have ever had in my entire life. We ordered one steak, two salmon and one chicken dish. All the foods were blend, mushy. Cheap quality frozen salmon, burnt steak, tasteless nasty looking chicken. Please guys I beg you don’t waste your money unless you’re local. Specially if you are from the city I guarantee you, you won’t be able to swallow the foods. What a joke! It’s a disgrace of a restaurant and specially for the chef. She shouldn’t cook anymore.

Wednesday burger night is a must! $15 for a quality craft burger, delicious fries, and a beer or wine. Had a delicious meal with the family that didn't break the bank. Fireplace in the dining room was a welcome addition for March weather. Would definitely recommend.Chris@ North East Ford

You can't beat this place. Food was excellent +++. Appetizers could be a meal unto itself, very generous. Can't say enough about how impressed we were at the Pond. The staff were very solicitous of our needs. Helpful but never overbearing. Very professional staff. The food is the best you could have. Go there, you'll be amazed as we were.

My wife and I stopped by here on the way back from our second home in Copake *cough cough* to Brooklyn. The porterhouse was perfectly cooked and the clam chowder was surprisingly good.The decor was super cozy; they put us near the fireplace and we just had the most delightful experience....until a gang of feral children ran train on my pet ferrets (sorry, forgot to mention the ferrets) and torched the van so we had no way to get home.We are now stranded, trying to hitchhike back to Brooklyn. Police don't believe us, the restaurant's management say they're too busy......PLEASE HELP.

A hidden gem! A surprise birthday party for my husband was a hit for all who attended. A great venue for any occasion, large or small. The owners; Paige and Rob are talented, thoughtful and kind. The food was AMAZING! Even the side of roasted vegetables was delicious. You know it’s great when your 7 year old grand daughter unprompted says “this is the best meal I’ve ever had”. The servings were quite generous. What a treasure. If you haven’t been here yet; you will be grateful to dine here next. Even the scenery and drive there is gorgeous.

Great food, staff is very friendly and super attentive. Never once had to ask for another drink, they were always right there as soon as our glasses were empty to ask if we wanted another. Steak was cooked perfectly. Owners are also super friendly and accommodating. 10 out of 5 stars!

Everything we ordered was delicious and was hot. We did takeout and the young lady even delivered our meals to our vehicle. The lobster macaroni and cheese was amazing. We will definitely be back....

Every bite of everything we ate was spectacular! The menu is wideranging and distinctive, every offering a feast of flavors. We especially loved the beer-battered scallops; the batter was buttery and flaky, not hard and crusty, and the scallops and dip perfect and delectable. What a chef! Good selection of accompanying drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere with a lovely waitstaff.

We had my parents 50th wedding anniversary here and it was a wonderful event. The staff were amazing and the food was excellent. The owners were so easy to work with during the planning process. The event room here is just beautiful. I would highly recommend The Pond to everyone. My family and I will definitely be returning here for dinners.

First time there. Drove an hour with friends on their recommendation, but was weary of driving that far to eat. OMG was so worth the drive! How good was it? I waited until my wife went to the store today, heated up the leftovers, and ate them all so I wouldn't have to share them. Yes I'm in trouble but was so worth being in the dog house for a day.

Easter Sunday was a huge disappointment.You had only one type of soup. Extra charge.You had no way of getting a salad at all.You had no appetizers at all.The spiral whatever dish with peas was horrible.Steak was good .You had no dinner rolls, not even bread.No salt and pepper.Waitress not trained.Before everyone was done eating she brought over the bill. I said what do you have for dessert ? Two choices available. She picked the bill off the table when I asked for coffee. She brings the dessert and forgets coffee. When asked, making a new pot. Again puts down the bill. After 15 min. I go to the bar requesting she bring our coffee. She said, I have to make a pot.FYI only three tables had guests.We were finally going to give up and leave when she brings the coffee.

It saddens me to share our last dining experience at the Pond. In the past, it has ALWAYS been a destination that our family totally enjoyed and looked forward to coming back as a FAVORITE. Last night was a totally different experience. We noticed that not many people were there for a Saturday night! The drinks and appetizers were very good. So good that we ordered a second order. So far, so good, until time was going by and we realized that there must have been a problem in the kitchen - the room we were sitting in was becoming smokey - so needed to open windows to ventilate. Then the meal turned into a disaster!! We were a party of six and all six meals were disappointments!! The quality and presentation was horrible. It is sad to see that what used to be a fine dining experience to now what is clearly unskilled personnel. They should not be in the Restaurant business!!

Owners Rob and Paige are really kind people who truly care about creating a delicious meal and drink. We love it here and feel so lucky to have such a great restaurant in Ancramdale. Weather you live in the area or are just passing through this place is worth stopping by!Chowder, calamari, WINGS...beers on tap! Always a great choice, the specials are so on point too.We’re always more than satisfied after a meal at THE POND ♥️
