Today we shopped at the Amsterdam N.Y. Home Depot. The person helping us in the plumbing department’s name was Dave , and he was phenomenal. He went above and beyond to help us find ALL the proper items we needed, always with a smile . He was extremely knowledgeable , professional and we would not hesitate going back to that particular store, hoping he’s there. I had to pick up two huge boxes containing Christmas deer. Big Jim just stayed on the phone the entire time. Too cool, no help. The girl working next to him was great and very funny. She found my order for me. The two boxes were too big for me to handle alone. She called for help and this nicest young man, Mitchell, came out to get the boxes in my truck. He was polite, creative, and hard working. Great kid. He should get a raise!

The lady who was working at the paint section last night was the only one out of the past three Home Depots I’ve been to who was helpful. I just moved and I’ve been trying to paint my home. Every other employee I spoke with I told I have never painted before, and they didn’t bother to tell me that you can’t wash flat paint - or that flat paint couldn’t be used in a bathroom/ room with a fireplace. I’ve had to repaint two rooms already because of this. I only found out I needed another type of paint, because I googled it. The lady I spoke with yesterday, actually took the time to explain what the different types of paint were for, how they looked (even showing me photos), and that I could get samples (no one else had told me any of this previously). She was the only employee helping customers back to back, while everyone else was standing around either doing nothing, or talking to each other. Despite this, no one had made sure she had her break all day. I’m giving five stars to her. Hopefully she is treated well as an employee because she deserves credit for actually knowing what she is talking about, being helpful, and being attentive to customers basically nonstop.

Today my wife and I wanted to look at flooring. We removed a couple pieces from the boxx and laid them on the floor, as to, get a better picture of the flooring. Not one but two employees came within six feet of us leaning on the box’s just watching, even after I made it clear to them we did not need help and that they were making my wife and I feel really uncomfortable. They just stood there as if the only thing they had to do was worry about us, really unprofessional and I hope Home Depot does not encourage this type of standard operating procedure when engaging with customers, needless to say we did not purchase any flooring because of this interaction

Great customer service and product selection. The store is very clean and organized. They have everything you need to complete your project. Whether you're looking for custom kitchen cabinets or closet organizers, this local hardware store has you covered. Their trained associates can help you find exactly what you need for your project. This location is northeast of the intersection of Route 30 and Miami Avenue in the Hannaford Plaza, between Walmart and Big Lots.

Always a friendly expierence there. We ended up needing some moving boxes and one of the staff lead us right to the location. They had a lot more of a selection then we were looking for at reasonable prices, we ended up spending quite a bit on cardboard boxes but it was worth it. I think we picked the loudest DOLLY in the building though. Some WD40 wouldn't hurt. All in all. A good expierence, will return

Our kitchen stove failed before Thanksgiving. We had a family reunion happening for the Holliday. I called Home Depot and ordered a new drop in stove with oven, for $1977.00. They assured us it would be delivered and installed and take away old stove before Thanksgiving. Three days before, the stove arrived, but the delivery men said they could not install it. They left with us having a new electric stove laying on our kitchen floor. No installatio, no old stove removal. We paid a semi qualified person $600.00 to install it. I am 78 years old, and no longer do this kind of installation.Home Depot did refund the removal fee, and installation fee. You can NOT TRUST HOME DEPOT to do what they say , mostly due to incompetent employees taking orders. After lengthy phone calls, they did refund $150.00 for my inconvenience. Also, always remember, anything you have to have Home Depot order is going to be very expensive, list price or higher. Make sure you arrange for installation, as they do not install.

Officially done with Home Depot. One person tells you something then switch out for break, the next person comes on and all the sudden not only does a price change HUNDREDS. It’s well she’s new I’m a cashier manager or something that doesn’t matter, absolutely does not matter! You’re literally shopping through because it’s a discounted price half hour later it’s full price. Then it’s wait to mark them all individually and of course the infamous it must be coming out of their paycheck argument over military discount😡😤 I swore last time when the lady said “you people” Imagine that! You people😶 was she referring to me being why was she referring to my military status at that point I’m not sure but I knew one thing you have absolutely no right! Raising your voice and yelling I’ve had it with you people. Twice out of 20 times has been No issues, It’s not worth it I’d rather spend the extra money to go to Lowe’s. By the way on my military peeps because I have seen a few getting literally hassled to hell over not registering online. Think of the age of some of these people and where we are they are they don’t have Internet where they are or they can’t even see the register if they wanted to but either way you shouldn’t be treated like that over anything ever. Lowe’s wouldn’t do that to you they would try to help you through the process or give you the discount not ever when they treat you like that

This place is a mixed bag, some of the associates are great and know what they're talking about, others are not so great and I've heard of some crazy stuff that happens there.

Very weird shipping and receiving, Driver should stay inside all the time until trailer is empty, because it's more safe to stay in warehouse where forklifts are working around than to stay in your truck

I love Home Depot, but their online pickup is horrendously slow. After receiving my email stating the order is ready, I've waited 4 times longer than it would take me to just shop for the item myself.Edit to five stars: turns out my order was lost and they had to re-pull everything. Manager on duty was very apologetic and made things right. Deadly with the situation in the right way and I was pleasantly surprised

About 15 people behind the service counter and no one could get their heads out of their behinds, including the assistant manager.All I wanted to do was pay on our home depot credit card with a check written by my husband's business. They were rude and had no interest in taking the payment. They would not take it.My husband went down, and they took the payment, with a different group of employees.The ironic thing is that I can use my husband's card anytime, but try to make a payment....unbelieveable...We will not shop here again.

Oh my goodness, we got flowers here because we needed some for our birdbath/flower pot thing. Such a stunning collection! And they have PEONIES!! those are my favorite flower in the entire world! (buttercups are a close second) I will absolutely come back for some of the peonies. Prices are decent, the flowers look well cared for, and the associates are helpful and kind. I'm not much of a handy-woman. So I cannot say much about the goods in the store, I have only been inside once to buy screws for my dad, and the associate that assisted me was extremely helpful. That was the only time I've ever been inside lol I just like the plants!

Home depot keeps getting worse and worse with customer service. Went there for a quote for special order windows and I couldn't even get 1 after sitting there for an hour and explaining what I wanted. I know what I willing to spend do not sell try to sell items to me because they are cheaper, especially when I say I am worried about price

Went to Home Depot in Amsterdam 6/23/23 looking for power head for my Ryobi trimmer. Nick asked if we needed help and stopped what he was doing to help us. He found exactly what we were looking for and went through all the details of this piece of equipment. Nick provided exceptional customer service. We proceeded to checkout and inquired about a military discount. Yomayra said yes there was but we would need to sign up on our phone to obtain the discount. Yomayra very patiently walked us through the sign up process and got us our discount. These two employees provided exceptional customer service and made our shopping experience easy and convenient. Will definitely use this store for any future hardware purchases.

I wish they offered tool rentals like other locations. Other than that, this place feels like my home away from home. I know the store like the backside of my hand and rarely need help. Workers are typically very pleasant and willing to help.

average home improvement store. Most prices on line do not reflect the true in store price. Never order for store pick up. website states average of 3 hrs. for order to be ready. True wait time is typically 4-7 days no mater the size of the order. also they tend to give you the garbage items and will hide them if possible.

Normally I shop this store all the time , yesterday though , I found something that got me upset . Went look for a Project Panel 2 X 2 square , 23/32 . all the panels in the bin marked for 23/32 were actually 3/4 BC which is $ 41 a panel . The 23/32 is only $13 . Its called bait and switch . I've learned over the years to always check scan tags and numbers just for this reason . Had to go Lowes to get what I wanted ! ALWAYS CHECK .....Never assume !

Called to have 27 bundles of shingles put together for pick up, said they had no-one working it was just the guy that I talked to there. Would not help, Asked to get 4 bundles of shingles off second rack, waited 30 minutes before I climbed up and got them myself, upon crashing out with 1500 worth of stuff I had two rude cashiers at the customer service desk, very unhappy. Going to lowes from now on

I had an extremely unpleasant experience with an order I placed that had its promised delivery window missed. I had to call the 800 number for Home Depot to work things out (twice) because anyone I talked to at this store either had a rude attitude, conflicting information, or refused to take accountability. As far as I'm concerned, my future visits will be to the competitors up the street since they would at least treat me as a customer instead of a nobody.

If I can give less than 1 star I would, the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced at a store, spend over $600 on over blocks that were paid ahead of time to be ready by 11am the next day stacked on pallets for an easy load with the fork truck just to get to the store for them not to be ready, to top it all off when I got there the employees refused to put them on pallets so I had to individually stack over 540 blocks by hand on the back of my dump trailer , which none of them even bothered to help with, now I understand why I shop at Lowes and that is where I will continue to shop where a customer is treated with customer service

We were waiting for a sale person in the appliances department for half an hour and nobody came to help us. We asked two other sale persons during that time and they called for help but nobody came anyway. We decided to come the next day (today, September 8th 2020, around 5 pm) and try again but experienced the same problem. We ended up going to Lowe’s and bought all our appliances there, with excellent customer service and no waiting time. They even offered free delivery to our house! Dear Homedepot of Amsterdam, I just wanted to let you know you just lost about $2000 in sales and a good customer.
