Dr. Rebekah Kane and her team provided excellent care to our 14 year-old cat Marley during his diagnostic visit. After several disappointing visits with local full service vets in the Utica area, we decided to make the 45 mile drive to PetVet in New Amsterdam before taking Marley to Cornell 's Vet School's clinic.At PetVet, for $105, Marley received a full checkup, blood and stool analysis, and superb follow-up by Dr. Kane regarding his overall health, condition of the chronic kidney issue she detected, and detailed recommendations for changes to his diet.Of the last 4 vets Marley has seen, Dr. Kane was the only one who did not urge us to have his teeth removed, pointing out that the redness of his gums was not an infection, rather that his gums had grown to protect him from any disease entering through his of dental cavities. Marley will be having periodic health visit at PetVet New Amsterdam with Dr. Kane and her team.It would be great if PetVet would open a Wellness Center in Utica. Judging from reviews, we're not the only pet owners in the area who are unhappy with our local full service vet practices.

Brought 3 dogs in at once. The staff was great very informative and patient. Will def be going backAlso want to mention that they were ALL pit bulls and we were never asked to leave. There were a lot of other dogs there as unfortunately they are only open 2 days. There was a couple of dogs that were really aggressive towards the other dogs that were there and were asked to wait outside or to go for a walk while they wait but they were asked very nicely and were seen as soon as it was their turn.

We truly love bringing our two long-haired Chihuahuas to PetVet. 🐾 🐾 The staff and vets are always extremely knowledgeable, caring, friendly, and loving to our fur babies. It’s also a plus, that they are close to home and reasonably affordable! Unlike, bringing our dogs to the veterinarian’s office, which always seem to wallop us with an outrageous bill afterwards, and push extras. You get what you want and need for your pets at PetVet. I truly hope our Amsterdam NY PetVet remains open and doesn’t close.🙏🏻

I can't say enough great things about this PetVet. I called them 5pm the day before Thanksgiving for my girl beagle who most likely has an infection on her lip. They told us to come in immediately (first come, first serve, like urgent care for pets). Because it was a minor injury they could most likely help. Every vet tech and the vet were kind and helpful. Even though we have our regular vet and she was up to date (our regular vet was closed), they looked her all over to make sure there were no other problems. They prescribed her meds for pain and antibiotics to get us through the long weekend and were just absolutely wonderful! And it was affordable! Money aside, it gave us peace of mind through the holiday and not having to sit at an emergency vet for hours. I can't thank them enough!

I just had an awful experience at the PetVet clinic in Amsterdam NY today where I was asked to take my dogs for a walk because they started barking loud as soon as another dog passed by, and I’m not going to complain about all the other dogs that were also barking but they came to us and asked us to take our dogs for a walk to calm them down, or to wait in the car after we've been waiting inside for about an hour and I think it wasbecause of my dogs being Pitbull's. This was not my 1st visit but it will be for sure the last.As of August 9th 2022 I will not be returning to this clinic again, I’ll be sure to inform my family and friends about this disturbing experience.

I brought my 2 year old dog in for his yearly vaccines. He had rabies and the 5 in 1 Leptospirosis.After a few days he began limping and a day later he was diagnosed with Lyme disease. The vaccines suppressed his immune system and the Lyme took over more aggressively. He is still quite lame and cannot walk well.PLEASE get your dog tested for Lyme before you get vaccinations. That way he/she can be treated before compromising their immune system which lets Lyme take over.I wish they would warn folks BEFORE getting that many vaccines in one visit.

Love the vets and the staff. Customer service is the worse. They actually laughed on the phone when we said we are filing a complaint with BBB. They advertise that there PEt iq SMART PLAN that cost almost 400 dollars a year will cover ALL VET RECOMMENDED VACCINES. Everytime I go there for whatever vaccines the vet recommmends I end up having to pay for uncovered vaccines. No where on the site does it show exclusions for vaccines. If the vet on duty says your dog needs this vaccine, then I would dare to say it was VET RECOMMENDED. So now I am out of an additonal 212.00 for my so called vaccines that should of been included. They won't be laughing when the BBB cotacts them or they are unable to take any more payments for my credit card.RE: TO OWNERS RESPONSEWell, that was nice to respond to my review with an offer to resolve an issue. But the phone number is the exact CS number that started all of this. So, I am not going to sit in the Que for another 53 minutes to get one of your CS reps who know nothing about customer service. If you would like to give me a direct number to someone who genuinely cares about my situation then I will be happy to call. Otherwise, the BBB will be reponding to you shortly

Great resource for affordable, pet care. Friendly and caring staff. Had a rabies vaccine and our girls nails clipped. They even have online coupons. Your pets records are easily accessed on line too.

We have been bringing our boy, (APBT) to Pet vet for a couple years and have the Smart plan. He LOVES going and his pitty wiggle all the way in 💕 I recommend them and the plan, saves you BIGTIME!!!!

Disappointed from prior visits. Vet availability is only twice per week & waited over 1 hour for 30 sec shots. Cat looked at ahead of me was in for 45 minutes!!!
