Clam Strips, French Fries, Happy Days~When I first moved to Amsterdam I recall the days of seeing this location totally shut down and thinking "wonder what that place was like in it's hay day", well many years later and the location reopened under the same name and likely serving the same kind of food.For my order I called it in a few hours ahead of time, getting a Chicken Sandwich, Fried Clam Strips, Onion Petals, Pickle Chips and a Vanilla Milkshake. I was going to also order the Fried Twinkie, but apparently their online menu is outdated as that was only around during their opening event. They do have Fried Oreos, but I can't eat chocolate sadly. All in all the total came to around 42.00, which for as much as I ordered, seemed a fair price.Picking up the meal was easy and the girl working the front end was very friendly, and when I got everything back home I was very satisfied with what I found. The proportions were very acceptable, and the me of then had no idea that they were even too much for me to finish. Hindsight is 20/20.Digging in the Chicken Sandwich was first, juicy chicken breast grilled just right, fresh onion and lettuce, a splash of mayo and ketchup, with the toasted yet soft buns made for an excellent start. The french fries that accompanied both the sandwich and clam strips had that very obvious home made texture to them, and I loved it! Looking back on it, probably should have not got the other sides. Speaking of which the pickle chips were indeed crispy, but I felt them a tad too salty. It was easy to mellow out the salt with the included dip, but on their own they were not as enjoyable as I was hoping. The onion petals were better, but in their case they had a somewhat lack of flavor, and needed the sauce included to make up for the fact. The sauce by the way I think was some kind of ranch? It's not on the menu, nor was I asked about them when my order was taken. And finally the last main course, the clam strips. What can I say, they were just as I recall carnival clam strips tasting. Slightly chewy, just that hint of sea food flavor, all bundled up in a crunchy breading. In fact they were so good on their own, I hardly needed the included tartar sauce.Ah, but before I forget, the milkshake. Of course I really wanted to try that Twinkie, so this was already a sort of filler pick, but hey, at least it was very much a homemade milkshake. Not that goop you get from McDonalds or even the recent Dave's Hot Chicken, something more akin to Stewarts, but with a very diner milk + ice cream flavor to it.I was put into a somewhat of a mild carb coma thanks to everything, but I enjoyed what I had all the same. Next time though, I think I'll just get the Chicken Sandwich or try the fried shrimp. Oh, and an important note, this is a Cash ONLY location, so be sure to bring at least $60 if you plan on getting anything close to what I ordered.

Great food at reasonable prices. Lots of outside seating both in the shade and sun. Great play area for kids. We easily spent almost 2 hours there relaxing while the kids played.Kid-friendliness: Good kids meals, choice of hot dogs, hamburger/cheeseburger, chicken tenders, or grilled cheese. Huge play area for the kids.

Delicious food for a really good price! Great little drive-up place and I love how they put toys out for kids to play with. Will be coming back here, especially if we are hosting our friends that have young children. The mule tracks ice cream treat is amazing!

I'm pleasantly surprised. For a roadside food place. The food was fantastic! There are lots of options for everyone. Pricing was perfect. Seating options are plentiful and very comfortable, especially the table and chairs under the gazebo. Toys and outdoor items to keep the little ones occupied for hours. Finished our meal off with their incredible ice cream. 10/10 recommend

The food was delicious. The prices are fair. They toys outside for the children to play with really impressed me. The sitting options also impressed me. The only thing I would recommend is a fan outside for the warmer days as there is not much shade. The cashier was pleasant. I can honestly say this place is really a happy place. 😊Kid-friendliness: Lots of toys the little ones can enjoy free of charge.

I had the foot long hot dog with macaroni salad. The Hot dog was good (I mean it’s hard to mess up a hot dog🤷🏻‍♀️) but the macaroni salad was too plain. There was no flavor to it. I added salt and pepper just so I could eat it and even then it wasn’t that great.Great customer service tho! The staff is super friendly. The outdoor seating is plentiful and they have LOTS of toys for the kids to play with out back like bikes and slides!

Great place! Though we live close to it, I've only eaten there a few times, generally casual business lunches. Tonight, my brother and wife joined my wife and me there for a quick supper just out of convenience. Great burgers, good fries. There was some training of new staff going on and the orders got a bit messed up and the owner offered us all free ice cream as apologies. Two of us took them up on it and enjoyed great hot fudge sundaes.We'll have to make it there a bit more often.

Not a good experience. Chicken sandwich tasted off. Max salad also seemed old. Children’s cheeseburger was a previously frozen dried puck. Side of blue cheese dressing was warm (not a good sign).Bad burgers and fried food. Decor is cool and fun. Ice cream was ok.

Happy days has always been my favorite ice cream place. The food and ice cream have been good and bad over the years, but it continues to be a fantastic place to bring my children and pets. I love the stream that the kids can jump around, I love the little bridge that goes back to toys, And I love all of the area where my dogs can run around and not be near people or the road. A fantastic spot to stop and relax for 20 minutes to an hour. The best part about this, they have doggy ice cream ❤️

Was there last Thursday on the 2nd in the evening and the 2 girls behind the window seemed to care more about talking then waiting on customers . Used to go a lot last year was first time this year and boy did the prices go up and the serving sizes on food went way down. Not impressed at all … will be finding a new ice cream place where staff wants to actually wait on you and not seem like your a bother

Super charming little local ice cream bar and luncheon that reminds one of something more ubiquitous to the 1950’s and 60’s. Don’t be surprised to see an Elvis impersonator crooning under a small lean-to to happy patrons. The facility is immaculately clean, like Disney levels of attention to cleanliness. I’m impressed with it entirely!Keep in mind, bring cash or be ready to use the on site ATM. Pricing is very reasonable and the atmosphere is tops. Give it a try!

Great place for grilled burgers, hot dogs, fried seafood, & sides. Especially enjoyed their funnel fries (fried dough shaped like french fries). Terrific ice cream in variety of flavors, both soft & hard, too - cones, sundaes, shakes, you name it. Also great place for tykes - lots of ride-on toys.

This business is all about family and community, and that in itself should motivate you to visit, but it’s more than just that. This is a great local business with excellent service and selections of ice cream and quick bites. Good pricing helps too. Come by car, truck or motorcycle, all vehicles welcomed. Nicely located in an area easy to get to.

Great!!I had a strawberry Sunday. It was relish. Fresh whip cream, nuts, a cherry, vanilla ice cream. The best! A little crowded but 3 girls ran their puts off keeping the customers happy. Burgers, dogs, fries, pizza(I think) ice cream, shakes. Oh soft and hard ice cream. Really good stuff and service. Plenty of parking.

Happy Days: thank you for donating ice cream to the 316 Youth and Community center in Amsterdam! We need more businesses and individuals to this and others that help the youth that don't want to go home to an empty house after school.You are My favorite hamburger joint also.Good French fries not just good. I love this place! The staff is fast and curious. Their pistachio soft serve has been my go-to “lunch” all summer (don’t judge!). I stopped in for a final ice cream of the season on my way to visit my father in assisted living and they gave me (yes! GAVE) enough ice cream for everyone in the place and made a whole bunch of elderly folks very happy!

I love Happy Days. I went there for ice cream and I got the Peanut Butter Fudge Sundae. Absolutely delicious! Also, they have an adorable play area for kids located outside to the back of the restaurant. Great family place!
