Exploring the Erie Canal Trail, I found this hidden gem in Amsterdam. Ordered two loaded dogs, large fries, and locally made chocolate milk. Fries were great: hot and crisp. Chocolate milk hit the spot and definitely tasted better than what you see in stores. The dogs were outstanding. I can't describe exactly what it was. Definitely the sauce, but more just a great mix and amount of each topping.Best part of the visit though was the hospitality and the local vibe. As I walked up to the door, soaking wet from hiking, I was invited in to dry off inside. Not wanting me to be cold, seeing my sweatshirt was soaked, he literally gave me the shirt off his back and refused to take a dime.As I sat and ate, I listened to the conversations around me. Seemed like all local people, friendly, knew each other. There was a lunch rush, and things were done promptly, but he made time to sit and talk with people and check in on the odd hiker from out of town.Cares about his customers and makes great food. If you're running/walking/cycling the trail, I HIGHLY recommend this spot, especially for lunch.Sidenote: made it to Albany around 4am - in dry and warm sweatshirt. Thanks, this was the best stop on my trip!

On my weekly crossing of the pedestrian bridge I have seen this location go from an empty office building, to a place advertising a coming soon restaurant, to said restaurant opening their doors. It took years to get there, but here we finally are. Of course I'm a little late to the party, as I had thought this would have been a location with nothing but hotdogs on the menu, and I am unable to partake of red meat sadly, but checking the online menu left me surprised.Not only does Guge's Dogs sell hotdogs and sausages, but burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, nachos, loaded fries, and a bunch of breakfast items too! And their prices are beyond reasonable, for my entire order I only had to shell out a little over $25 before tip. Seriously feel like Guge's is underselling themselves, but hey, I won't look a gift chef in the sandwich.Speaking of my order I ran with some loaded Nachos, loaded fries, a customized Grilled Cheese, and the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich. I put my order in online ahead of time using the Clover option, which seems to work with Google, and everything seemed to work pretty smoothly. The options for customization of everything were pretty open, and as you might be able to tell from the pictures, I had a little "fun" with mine.I was pretty amazed by the kraut, bbq sauce, onion, and pickle grilled cheese I had. The cashier was also very impressed with herself at how well she did with it, and seemed pretty interested in the combination as well. Spoilers: It rocked. The nachos were fantastic, exactly what you'd want in some salsa, sour cream, and cheese nachos. The fries also were covered in cheese and sour cream, though I did go a little ham with the cheese request so it was my fault they got so soggy with cheese as they did. So I won't deduct any points there, that's on me. And the chicken sandwich was also on point, a delightfully crispy chicken patty with mustard, lettuce, ketchup, and mayo. Yum.A return trip will absolutely need to be made at some time in the future. 5 out of 5.

Driving home (Toronto) from New Jersey and pulled off the highway to this hidden gem!What an amazing place. I got the meat sauce hotdog. So goodMy group got the zinger burger and poutine and chicken sandwich. Everything full of flavour moist and delish!’Definitely need to come check this place out. No pics for everything was devoured too fast’

I have had dogs from Mexico to Maine. They are better than old deans and Albany st. And mikes. The Mexican hots great. Sweet with a hot kick the dogs all the way great sweet better then franks here in ct. We will come back every time I come home..Parking: AnywhereWheelchair accessibility: Ramp

Frozen burger patty, not fresh, no seasoning on the burgers, bland generic burgers, romaine lettuce on a burger is the the tell tale sign of a place that can not make good burgers. The cook squirted water on the burgers, Absolutely horrid burgers. Only reason I went there is that they advertise "Fresh Angus Beef" its not, its a frozen patty from Walmart. Took one bite and threw it away. 2 burgers were still raw in the middle. Waste of money, time, and gas. The cook actually said its Fresh Frozen! LMAO!!!!! WHAT!!!!

As I was out making a delivery for work I noticed this little hotdog spot on the corner, after I finished my work I stopped in to get some lunch being a few hours away from home. The lovely ladies Maddie and Bella were extremely helpful and welcoming the food was very amazing. And the owner was very friendly as well between messages overall great experience definitely stopping by again when I’m in the area!Parking: A very nice big parking lot nearby to accommodate my 26foot truck

Family style environment. This hidden gem most people haven't had the opportunity to try. The deluxe chicken sandwich with crisp cold ❄️ lettuce tomato mayo is fantastic. Early 7am bacon, eggs, sausage, hash brown on a fluffy hard roll.... To die for. This isn't just an outrageous delicious hotdog spot, this my friends is what the American dream taste like. 10 out of 10 highly recommended.

Eat like a new Yorker talk like a new Yorker.. great food. Haven't been home in about a year herd they opened I had hot dogs from Texas Mexico border to Maine and these are good 👍 Mexican hots good bite of hot sauce and sweet . Hot dog all the way great. Deff will come back every time I come home. Also they are right next to that bridge they built they said would bring in millions. But those dogs are good and u can grab them there or go for a walk. Bike trail is there the mohawk river.

Hot dogs are amazing. Got spicy hot dog with meat sauce ,onions the works . Will definitely go back. Highly recommend.Parking: Amsterdam by the old armory that was turned into a hotel.

Was on a long bike ride that took me over the Gateway Bridge. Was pleasantly surprised to see a new place to pick up a bite to eat. Because of the place's novelty and being a late Saturday morning, the place was full and was a line. Was able to use the bathroom for free. The food hit the spot to re-energize. Was able to take food to a nearby bench overlooking the river.The only recommendation I would make is that a bike rack would be nice. The restaurant is not too far off a popular bike trail and has potential to be a stop for those who are bike touring.

Loaded dogs are tasty, nicely balanced meat sauce. Gravy is a bit bland but fries were hot and crispy, would definitely go back especially for a nice quick lunch.

Hot dog shop. Just like we remember from when we were kids. Features Mexican Hots, and Hot Dogs with every topping you ever wanted. The cole slaw is also delicious. Parking on street or nearby parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Has a couple of steps in front of building.

Ordered a Mexican hot and I observed the young girl putting it in Walmart bread ! If you want customers to keep coming back you dont use Walmart bread ! I was very dissatisfied and disappointed! Great value bread tastes horrible, I could have made that myself but with better quality bread ! I certainly wont be going there again!
