Great prices, but the aisle are hard to walk around at time because they leave stock carts all over. Rude new cashier staying up front in there phone. I would hate to be handicapped and this being the only store I could get too.Not Handicapped accessible Isles or front area to cash out. God knows when the floors were last cleaned either. Do better

The store is okay for stopping in for desperately needed items. Seems dingy, lighting is dim...parking lot is big and spacious. Checkout is fast and VERY pleasant. Seems the company should invest in some upkeep/update, since this store services a HUGE clientele, and is liked because it's not up on the hill, with the hordes if traffic it can have there.As noted, the staff were helpful and pleasant on this visit. 👍

The cashiers are very nice. I Would like for them to have more then one cashier on register because the lines get a little long. But I managed to find the little items I needed to purchase with no foreseen problems or needing help. Good place for a quick grab and go.

I don't usually review stores but this one stood out. I felt appreciated by the staff at this dollar general. Jay, my cashier smiled and showed interest in me during checkout. I was impressed by how polight the manager was to me when i had a concern.

Great place to buy household goods at fair prices. Store a bit messy however this was during Christmas rush. Staff greeted customers entering & exiting. Was low or out of stock on a lot of Christmas accessories. Good place to find items not sold elsewhere.

The guy jay that works there is always so nice and friendly and is great. I only know his name from the other A-hole employee working there that called his name. There is a lady that works there that’s usually always working when he is there and is rude and always has something negative to say or literally ignores me when I GREET HER and ask her how she is doing. She is obviously miserable with her job and should probably get another one.

Please count your money before exiting the store they take your money and then when you call to complain they give you this whole run around of how they are sure they gave you exact change and that they will have to count the drawer mind you when the manager counted the drawer she said the girl was over 500 at the moment that she wasnt able to tell if she gave me correct change or not like if I dont know what I handed to her and got back very unprofessional if I could give it a zero I would it always seems like no one in this place cares the lines are always huge while other employees stand around the employees are always gossiping they never have anything the store is a mess isles left undone just stick to the one on East main they have better variety it's better organized and the employees there actually do their jobUpdate: This store has done a 360 it actually looks like people are working there's a short girl with red hair soft spoken voice who should get a raise her customer service is on point because of this ill bump it up two more stars

Wish I can give 0 stars . This store is disgusting and disrespectful. Jay and brandy are the worst people in this planet . These people had made jokes to my uncle who is a veteran about him “LEARNING HOW TO READ” and them making fun of other customers they are disgusting humans . Will be contacting cooperate

The Dolgeville store is always Cluttered. The staff is always very rude. They treat you like dirt if it was my choice I would never go in there ever again which I do not. Forewarning do not go into Dollar General in Dolgeville

Good place to shop . My visit was wonderful. Shawn was the person who helped me find all the things I needed . Being disabled I get confused sometimes. Shawn was there to help. Now I always go out of my way to shop there .. great staff .

Absolute dump. Manager outside smoking cigarettes right in customers faces. Personal hygiene must have been a missed class... Aisles frequently blocked, shelves never stocked, foul mouthed employees, restrooms disgusting, loss prevention blows, lines grow and grow with employees outside smoking, cigarettes all over the ground, garbage on the side of the building, parking lot is pothole ridden in the winter and spring, hand carts filthy and mold ridden. Complaints to higher management lead to nothing accomplished aside from alibis. I do like the furniture polish however.

They close whenever they want . Staff leaves whenever they want and it’s really annoying at this point . It’s always only 1 person on register no matter how many people are on line . SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE if they’re not going to close the place down.

Typical urban Dollar General; slightly unorganized, unclean, disinterested staff. I like shopping at Dollar General’s, but this one is a bit too dirty and chaotic to entice me to go back.The vast difference in shopping experiences between old DG’s versus new ones, or urban ones versus rural ones is disconcerting.

None of the workers nor the manager likes to help the customer's let a lone eash other. And that manager is very ARGUMENTATIVE. 1 EXAMPLE I USE TO BUY MY OIL OF OLAY / BLK TOP. SHE TOLD I DID NOT BUY IT THERE THEY DONT CARRY IT. AND CERTAIN SHAMPOO/ CONDITIONER ( SUWAVE MOROCCAN SENT ) ANOTHER SO SHE SAID Y'ALL DONT CARY. WELL GUESS WHAT DISTRICT MANAGER , MAIN HEAD QUARTERS you DO. SHE ( MANAGER) NEEDS TO GO OR BE RETRAINED IN A SERIOUSLY WAY. I MYSELF WORKED IN HOSPITALITY and NEVER TREATED A CUSTOMER LIKE THAT STORS EMPLOYEE'S. MY HOPE IS THEY KNOCK IT DOWN ITS FILTHY ITS GROSS. EMPLOYEE'S DO NADA ITS REALLY A SHAME. IF THEY DON'T LIKE THEIR JOB ( QUIT ) THERES WORK OUT THERE YALL GOT TO LOOK BECAUSE HOSPITALITY IS NOT NONE OF YOUR THING. This particular store in Amsterdam is a definite MISS!! Located on Guy Park Ave., it seems to be the store no-one cares about. It's dirty, and a lot of the store is in disarray. The employees leave a LOT to be desired, WHEN you can actually find one!!
