Nice staff lots of stuff found a couple things there I haven't seen anywhere else including Walmart. The one thing they didn't have (I'm not mad not an everyday thing glow In the dark paint) they offered to order before I could even say anything.

Nifty little hardware store that has what you need 75% of the time. Friendly & helpful staff as well. Only docking a star for buisness ethics as they buy whole sale and pass on none of the savings to the customers. 'Tis America at its finest, I guess. 👌

Staff was helpful and friendly. I love this store! They always have many new gadgets like small keychain flashlights. Today I even saw these cool colored tweezers that have a light on them. I'm so glad to have this store so close to home.

Larry greeted us with a big happy, joyful spirited attitude and immediately asked my mom and I what we needed help with. He directed us within seconds. We were able to find exactly what we needed and more! On our way out...Carlos greeted us with a friendly smile and a kind attitude while he checked us out. My Mom~a~Dukes and I really do love shopping here. It was a breath of fresh air to meet new personable, friendly genuine employees!! I don't think I've ever met such a friendly staff. I was working on my sis deck and had to stop in to grab some hardware. The place is clean and smiles everywhere. The girl that cashed me out...big smile and friendly. The guy that pointed me to the screws and mini WD40...knew exactly where everything was. Customer service is a dying art. This place is keeping it alive. KUDOS TO THE OWNER. take care of your employees you don't know what you have. The hardware store near me are just miserable zombies going through the motions.

I walked in and knew of a couple things I was looking for and went to the appropriate aisles, I had previously looked online to make sure the items needed were in stock. Upon not seeing one of the items I went to the front desk to ask the staff member. When I said "hey how are you today?" He stared at me blankly but ok whatever, I tell him what I need and he continues to stare at me. Finally I say "I looked online and it said you had multiple in stock". He goes "aisle 19 on the right". This item was NOT located in that aisle I looked high and low. Finally an older lady who did not work there but was another customer came to find me and said "I see they have what you needed right by the front counter." She was right, they were literally in front of the staff member who " helped" me. He didn't acknowledge this is any way. Then he starts to ring me out and gives me my total, so I nicely asked if I could put in my phone number to go towards my rewards. He acted like it was the end of the world and at the end of the day I'm not sure that he even put in my information. So rude, I'd try the half hour further out of my way just to not have to go back to this particular Ace Hardware, which is a shame because I'd like to support smaller local businesses instead of going to Home Depot all the time.

This staff here are so knowledgeable they are amazing. I have stopped in for all kinds of things, from plumbing to electrical, cutting glass, screen door repairs, key cutting and more. This is my all time favorite hardware store and they earn my business and more on every visit.

It's mostly hit [or a little miss] with exactly the needed part, they mostly have it in stock, as a reasonably priced go-to for a Hardware part -- today (not in two days' shipping "for your convenience")[and they're close, without having to "go up the hill", an easy walk across bridge from South side, too]

When they say ace is the place they're not kidding Iwent to two different electrical shops trying to find a fuse that I needed and they didn't have it but Ace did they have all kinds of stuff and their staff actually has an idea what they're talking about period go there support them !!! it's not all about big box stores.

After gong to 2 big box stores and 2 other places I finally found the WD40 silicone spray I need for our camping. Not sure why no one else had this stuff. Maybe it's due to the hacked pipe line. I don't think so LOL!

March 1, and March 2, 2021 I went there to buy small items for a household project.As I was getting in my car to leave the 1st day, I noticed 2 guys about 40 years old get out of a white van and walk in the store, No masks on.On March 2, same van there, same 2 guys walking thru the store, and stopping to laugh and tell loud stories to 3 employees near the exit doors.NOBODY WEARING A MASK!Unless you have a death wish,Avoid this store.

Prices at True Value are very slightly higher than Lowes and Home Depot in my experience, and the selection is a little more sparse. However, the staff at this location are extremely friendly and helpful, and the location is pretty convenient. If you live in the area, it's not a bad little hardware shop.

Drove all the way there to get a bunch of stuff (fence posts, grill igniter, generac guardian battery) and needed to use a restroom. After years of shopping there i finally needed to go to the bathroom while being a patron of this establishment. I was told there were "no public restrooms" and needed to go all the way around the corner and into a mall to go to the bathroom. As if I wanted to walk all over the place just to try to find this restroom. Completely unacceptable. Ill take my money elsewhere from now on. You've successfully lost a lifetime customer.

Had a delivery person come out this place with a pick up truck that was delivering to this ace hardware and came out the place made a illegal turn hit my 18 wheeler and ran hit and run screw this establishment

I have frequented the Amsterdam Ace Hardware, formally True Value for the last ten years. I would have given a 4 star review if it wasn't for what happened today Sept. 4th at approx. 1:45pm. I went in to buy some pool supplies and walked in on an older (caucasian) female employee, making a joke about hispanic accents to a caucasian customer as he was cashing out. This employee and customer did see me walk in and they would have had to know I am at the least a person of color. The employee and customer continually joked about people with hispanic names getting social services. The employee even joked about a hispanic woman that handed in an application and filled it out wrong, as the customer sarcastically joked on why hispanics wonder why "american" named people get jobs over hispanics. As they continued to joke and laugh, another customer waiting in line laughed and joked hysterically as well as the cashier. I stayed in the front looking at pool equipment in amazement as they joked and laughed knowing that I, a man of color stood right there. It is a sad day in America when you can go to a well established business such as this and experience such hateful roderick. Although some hardware can only be found in this local establishment, I will highly reconsider going to this business. Be safe people......

They always have what i need ,if they don't their always happy to order it . Hardware is cheaper than the big boxers . I like this store better than Johnstown, they don't jump on you when you walk in, like in Johnstown

Tried to return a sump pump that I recently purchased there because it wasn't strong enough to do the job and they wouldn't take it back because I used it.How else can you tell if it's going to work if you don't try it?I guess the customer isn't always right.
