Dr. Marlow was super rude and standoffish. He refused to help my dog because I couldn't chalk up $850 on the spot!!! Such a waste of an appointment. I feel bad for the everyday American because not everyone has that amount on the spot he wasn't even willing to work with me or offer any payment plan. This man said verbatim "I can't do anything for you and I don't handle payment plans" and walked away. SOOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL. I will never go there again, there was no compassion at all. Dr. Marlow created a negative atmosphere for me and my ill dog and his lack of empathy left me feeling frustrated and helpless. If you actually care about your pet don't go here especially if they are very ill. They will charge you a boatload and won't work with you.

Thank you Dr. Marlow! It is a great pleasure to have a doctor and staff that truly care not only for our fur babies but also is compassionate with our feelings. It is so hard to find a doctor that doesn't treat you like a meal ticket! I truly recommend Dr Marlow 100%.

My biggest regret after coming here in the first place is not leaving sooner.Going here is fine if nothing is wrong with your pet but my senior diabetic dog recently displayed obvious symptoms of Cushing’s disease and I was dismissed by the dr. In fact, when I asked if it could be that, he chose to use a bunch of medical terms I would never understand as an example of why she couldn’t have Cushing’s (she does). They asked me to bring my own urine sample from my dog the next morning and wrote in her record that I refused; I had already made an appt at another vet who was able to quickly and correctly diagnose and treat my dog. Dr. Marlow verbatim said “this is so unusual, I don’t know what could be causing this, what do you want to do” during two appointments in regard to my dogs insulin resistance. Wasted nearly a month of our time in not diagnosing her correctly. And I see Four Paws responding here blaming people saying they couldn’t afford the recommended treatment because this place is wildly expensive and in our case money was never an issue, I’d pay anything for my dog to feel better, so that certainly wasn’t the problem here. So what was it? The dr recommended seeing an internist and I’ve heard him and the staff recommended that to other patients as well. This should have never been that difficult and I should not have had to watch my dog suffer in distress for an easily diagnosable and treatable disease that I was able to figure out myself with a basic google search.- I see your response and I said I declined because you failed to take the appropriate steps in diagnosis prior to that conversation of me asking and I had already found a new vet. I also said it’s fine to be a patient if nothing is wrong for which it wasn’t until this past year we hit obstacles in my dogs health including when she needed emergency surgery and you cost $1300 in testing for us to be told your reports were nebulous.

Beware!!!! Dr. Marlow and staff is only in it for the money and is so passive aggressive! The receptionist is rude. They just want your money!! They do not care about your animals!!!! I feel terribley for other pet owners who have had a terrible experience here and hope their fur babies got the care they deserve. I will NEVER go here again and will ALWAYS tell people to run far away from this horrible joke of a “veterinary hospital”. Close your doors already!!!!

I had taken my cat to four paws for about 3 years because they were so close to home I could walk. I never felt fully trusting of the care I was receiving and unfortunately the incident that finally got me to leave was an emergency that they couldn’t fit me in for.Since leaving I’ve received more attentive, patient and knowledgeable care than I ever did with Four Paws. There are many instances I could go into that left me feeling untrusting of the care I was receiving but the main thing that is most concerning is this:After switching vets I got routine bloodwork to check my cats kidneys so we could continue an allergy medication we were trying. The bloodwork came back and while the kidneys were fine, he had extremely high levels of white blood cells (lymphocytes,) near 15000. This is extremely concerning. Now, about a year and a half ago I was going to get a teeth cleaning at four paws so we did routine bloodwork to test his kidneys. I was told everything was fine. My new vet requested his old bloodwork panel to compare lymphocyte levels. Under dr. Marlow’s care his levels were even HIGHER, reaching 16,000. Clearly, his bloodwork wasn’t fully examined.Besides the facts, In my experience, I felt that at times dr. Marlow came off as condescending and passive aggressive. And Jackie at the front was quite abrasive as well. I wasn’t going to include this in my review but I have a feeling I’m not the only person to feel this way and I want to let you know it’s not in your head.If you have a feeling you aren’t getting adequate care or that there has to be something else that can be done or any inkling at all, please leave and seek a different vet. I wish I had sooner. In response to the response from the owner :I am also very happy I changed vets as well. I take my cat now to Island Rescue in bayshore and the care is extremely thorough and feels heart centered. When I took my cat to four paws the appointments felt rushed, I had to ASK for dr Marlow to check his ears, he didn’t take my cats temperature, I’m telling you his examinations were bare minimum. After several appts of getting my cats symptoms treated, dr Marlow gave some options to go to a dermatologist to get allergy testing but explained it is very expensive and at the end of the day sometimes not always effective. The X-rays that he recommended were to diagnose asthma which he also explained that is sometimes not even an effective way to diagnose asthma as it’s elusive, sometimes showing up and sometimes not. Cost of treatments has been a concern for me but I never said I had “no money.” I have now been going through with X-rays and bloodwork with my new vet because we now need to rule out lymphoma due to such high levels of lymphocytes. Levels that dr Marlow failed to examine in the bloodwork we had done for him under his “care.”

Mr. Coco loves everyone at the clinic and that’s all that matters. I had an awful experience trying to get the best treatment for him at another vet in Babylon. I decided to come here and never looked back since! He’s the healthiest he’s been in all his 13years. Thank you Dr. Marlow and staff!

Dr. Marlow is by far the best Vet I have ever been to. Four Paws has been such a good place for my dogs Marley and Kobe - a true blessing! Dr. Marlow is compassionate, crazy knowledgeable, and very welcoming. I have been going to Four Paws on and off since 2016 (because I moved and came back) when he did extensive work on Marley for teeth that needed to be extracted and his fluid filled sac drained from the issue. Fast forward to 2022, I have never had problems with the area again and his recovery was fast. I just took him again to get a teeth cleaning, blood work/ physical work-up, and one extraction. Marley’s teeth are sparkly clean and white. Dr. Marlow’s staff is always friendly, organized, and thoughtful. Jackie at the front desk is awesome! Anytime my dogs have had work done or given a medication, they go out of their way to call and make sure they are doing well. They are always on time, affordable, very clean, extremely professional, and super loving! The vet techs and the vet know exactly what they are talking. You can be sure you're in good hands.

Dr. Justin Marlow is a well trained experienced vet with an enormous heart. My cat and dog are always well behaved for Dr. Marlow because they must sense his sincerity in caring for them. The staff at Four Paws go above and beyond to make every visit end on a positive note.

I am so angry I have to share this review. Support staff are wonderful. I took my animals there since it was taken over from Dr. Phelps. I took my sick cat there in July because she wasn't eating. He said it was allergies & gave her convenia & steroid shots. She didn't get better so 10 days later we went back. Same diagnosis & more shots. I took her to VMCLI who were so over-crowded with one vet on duty who told me she was jaundiced. (I was never told that by Four Paws) I took her back to Four Paws who finally did blood work & told me she had deadly anemia but he could treat her. One week later I put my sweet, suffering little girl to sleep. Now I have a hole in my heart that can never be fixed. If your pet is not getting any better don't walk out RUN!!

We called Dr. Marlow's office when the vet we were going to found a problem with my dog's blood work but then had no sense of urgency when it came to addressing the problem. The receptionist Jackie was so nice when we called and made us an appointment for the next day. Dr. Marlow was so caring and thorough. He meticulously explained the blood work results and came up with a treatment plan. I highly recommend his office if you want a vet office with a professional and personal feel.

I was able to get a appointment right away and they were very accommodating when I needed to change the time .Outstanding service staff very friendly and the doctor took his time to explain everything to me and my daughter not like other vet doctors I went to with are older dog. Very reasonable price.

I love this place and would recommend anyone who truly cares about their pets wellbeing to come here. Dr.Marlow is a great vet who truly cares about the animals he sees. I take comfort in knowing that my pets are in good care here not just because their ailments will be treated, but because they will be done so in the least stressful way possible which is super important.

My dogs, have been under the care of Dr. Justin Marlow for over 5 years. The caring way he and his staff have dealt with my animals Jagger, Zendo and Teddy made me and my family feel like we were a part of their family. From walking in the door and meeting the caring receptionist Jackie, to the vet techs Barbara and Sharon, you can see why I give this Vets office 5 stars. My dog Jagger was born with a lot of problems and Dr. Marlow has cared for him since before he was a month old. His compassionate way of explaining what his problems were and how we could work together to fix it. To the day my Jagger took his last breath it was Dr. Marlow and his staff who made me feel that Jagger had also been a member of their family also. My senior dog Teddy that I adopted after Hurricane Sandy, who also came with his share of problems, Dr. Marlow and his staff were right there with us, Teddy lived to be 14, and now with my Doberman Zendo, Dr. Marlow is always there for any question big or small. I would recommend, and have recommended him to my family and friends.
