Stayed & attended a wedding & reception here. The staff was pleasant & hospitable. The caterers were on point. Everything was well planned, food was excellent, servers were very efficient & friendly. The room & halls were modern & clean. The bed & pillows were comfortable and the room was stocked with the normal coffee, tea & personal hygiene items hotels are known for. The pool & hot tub area is very nice & are also well maintained. The only negative I have is finding your way around the property.Nearby activities: Fishing (Salmon river) & fish hatchery.

My son and his new wife had their wedding and reception at Tailwater. It was an amazing evening. Staff was very helpful and everything went as planned. The next morning they had an Easter brunch and it was amazing how beautifully they transitioned from wedding to Easter decor. Food and staff were great!Great first experience!Rooms: Modern and cleanBeds were very comfortable

This was our first visit to the Tail Water Lodge but will definitely not be the last! We had never heard of it (or Altmar) but, luckily, a woman at the doctor's office had and recommended it for our lunch. Every person we came in contact with was welcoming and professional. The food and service were exceptional! The menu was extensive and we had a hard time deciding between the chicken, brie, apple and caramelized onion sandwich and a salad with berries, feta and nuts. Our server extraordinaire, Jenna, suggested ordering one of each and dividing them. She brought them already separated! She also brought a few of the in-house made salad dressings - all were wonderful! Although we didn't need dessert, we couldn't resist the ginger carrot cake and the warm peach crisp. We each had some food to take home for lunch the next day.The lodge is beautiful. I cannot remember when I've been so impressed with a restaurant. Jenna went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.

We had the most wonderful experience today when we ventured out to the Tailwater Lodge for lunch! The woman who recommended it to us at the doctor’s office certainly didn’t lead us astray….the building was beautiful and the food??? Oh my the good, was absolutely perfect! Perfectly delicious! We had the chicken and Brie sandwiches and the salad with blueberries, feta cheese and bacon. All of the dressings ( ranch, blue cheese, and vinaigrette) were made in house and we liked them all! The salad looked so beautiful we didn’t want to destroy it by eating it…but we did!!!French fries with Parmesan and garlic topped everything off. And oh, then there was the dessert; citrusy carrot cake, and truly awesome warm peach crisp. Can you tell yet how much we enjoyed everything?I’m not done yet though. Not without praising the staff. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and welcoming. And then there was Jenna, our server. As much as we liked the food, we liked Jenna! She was so attentive, so friendly and so delightful my friend wanted to adopt her! Not only that but she also knew how to make an old-fashioned that met my friends very high standards.Altogether our lunch at the Lodge was one for the record books. Truly remarkable!!Food & drinks: See review

We just had our wedding here in October of 2023! The Tailwater staff were phenomenal to work with! My now-husband and I were planning from out of state, and it was the most effortless process. The day of went smoothly, even with the rain that happened, and they ensured everything was perfect so we did not have to worry about a thing. I wasn’t stressed at all! You 100% get what you pay for and more when you book your wedding here! Also the food was the BEST wedding food we’ve had and heard from numerous guests that they thought it was amazing! The rooms were conveniently located for our guests and the suite that the bride and groom get us STUNNING! I would recommend Tailwater for any person looking to get married in the area!

I feel it is overpriced for the room accommodations offered. Typical size/comfort as less expensive hotels. Convenient having a restaurant and bar on site, however, 20 bucks for a bottle of beer and a glass of wine seems a bit high.Rooms: Standard accommodationsFood & drinks: Convenient on site but overpriced

Just stayed here for a week. The hotel is ASTOUNDING as always. The beds are so comfortable and it’s the best I’ve slept at a hotel. The rooms are large and very quiet. You can’t hear your neighbor or people in the hallway which was very impressive. And the showers….the showers in the room are amazing. The restaurant food is great though they should add some gluten free options as well. But the entire stay went off without a hitch. I will for sure stay again and again and recommend to family and friends.

Everything was incredible from start to finish! We stayed two nights for a wedding rehearsal and ceremony/reception as part of the wedding party. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in the doors to the morning we left. We were able to set up our event space the night before around our rehearsal and dinner. The food was delicious at every meal. The spaces were spacious and beautiful! We enjoyed use of the game room, the barn, the patio, the river birch bar, the spearhead room, as well as the common spaces and pool. The staff was the absolute highlight of our stay! Every single person was so helpful and friendly! It was clear that they were all happy and well taken care of because they extended that care to us at every opportunity!

We were having a hard time finding a decent place to stay for the night. AAA wasn't really able to help either. So we researched places ourselves. And came across this one. The prices are terrific. Staff was very nice and helpful. The view inside and outside of the lodge are amazing. We visited some waterfalls along the way. We're definitely coming back. Best place we've ever stayed in the last 30 year's.

We spent two nights at Tail water lodge. The hotel is beautiful, which I expect from the Hilton Tapestry Collection. Located in the center of fly fishing country it is decorated with a sophisticated nod to that outdoor activity. Check was light on details. I was not given directions to my room and didn't know there were two different buildings with two different elevators. Had to go back to the front desk. A map of the property should be provided because the layout is expansive. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub, but they both close too early at 9pm. We did have dinner at the restaurant and I do recommend that. The beds were comfortable and room was very clean. I would stay again.

Hotel, hot tub, location, all great. Food is so bad! Went for a wedding a year ago was food was terrible! I figured they are putting out 100+ meals it’s expected, went this august had lunch and dinner so bad!! Lunch was $96 for two small what looked to be microwaved pizzas. Dinner was well over $120 without tip I’m not picky but, it was just awful food! Daytime bartender was so bad screwed everything up. Looking around 7 people at bar. Most waiting for drinks while she messed around with dishes and was wherever? Go there to stay not to eat 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have stayed at the Tailwater several times, for business as well as pleasure. Without exception, every person on the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The spa is terrific, the restaurant is awesome, and the rooms are lovely, clean, and very quiet. We have an annual spa weekend with a group of 10 friends, and we wouldn't go anywhere else, including the fancy resorts in the Finger Lakes.

Was there for a wedding in August 19, 2022. The walk from the rooms were unbelievable to where the wedding was, on top of that there was also more then 1 wedding that also. One of the guest had to walk to the main bar to get a shot because the bar in the wedding didn't carry much of anything, The shots were $40.00 that's over priced by far, It's not like we were in a big city we were in a very small town in Oswego county!!! Don't get me wrong the place it's self was very nice, But our room was so far away from were the wedding was and where I was sleeping smelled like someone had thrown up.. 🤮🤮🤮🤮!!!!! Staff was very nice other than a older dark haired woman was grumpy, Ryan out of all was the Best!! The food was great.. The pricing Could change and not have more then 2 weddings going at onces so that would give some of the guest a better chance at having better room selection and closer to the wedding area, And not pack the place full just to make the money, That's how get peoples reviews on how they see things!!!Noteworthy details: The room smelled like vomit 🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎... Shots over priced $40.00 for 4 shots is just crazy and had to go to the main bar for them, should have better selection in the bar where wedding area is so nobody has to leave the area!!!

I went for a two day conference. It was a nice, rustic setting. It was nice that they re-purposed an elementary school, but the rooms were a bit cold feeling. I ordered dinner and picked it up at the bar to take it back to my room. I didn't see a room service option. The food was delicious but there wasn't a table or desk to eat it at. It's just kind of awkward. I was also disappointed that there was no guide for the television stations. I am not from the area, so I had to change through all of the stations to see what they were.Rooms: It was nice that they re-purposed an elementary school, but the rooms were a bit cold feeling. We had a great 2 night stay at the Hilton Tailwater lodge. A family of 4(2kids, 16 &14) the day after new years.Nice quite stay since it was after new years day and most kids returned to school and also a week day. We had a great room upgrade thanks to Elizabeth and my gold status. This was our 2nd visit here coming from the Toronto,Canada area and it was even better than the 1st. Much less busy. The service from all staff was friendly and attentive. Loved the outdoor hot tub, games room, dart board and pool table. Had dinner and breakfast at there in house restaurant/bar. Great food, service and ambiance. A bit pricey,(mostly due to Canadian exchange rate)but well worth it. Looking forward to our next stay there for family getaway and R & R.

Beautiful lodge. Rooms are clean and simple. Food is excellent. Visited for a wedding and the way the staff quickly and quietly rearranged the room for different events of the night was excellent. Staff was also friendly and helpful. We had excellent weather for a November wedding, which allowed for a nice breeze into the venue. These were later closed as we got into the evening I believe. Very nice option for events depending on weather.

What an incredible place to go and get away. Far enough from any major cities that you feel like you've disconnected and have a quiet place to relax. A beautiful lodge with a rustic style; but very well maintained and taken care of. The grounds are amazing with the Salmon River just a short walk away and the building itself is gorgeous. Every amenity that is listed is top notch. The restaurant was very good; great service, great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The wife and I are already trying to plan a yearly getaway.

Disappointing for being advertised as one of the nicer hotels in the area. The rooms are clean but very small for the high price. The hot tub and pool were nice but often busy with kids and left messy by wedding guests. The major disappointment was the bar/food. Very bland and low quality at a very expensive price. Ordered the fish sandwich which was without exaggerating a fried frozen triangle on a bun you would get at dollar general. Some bartenders and staff were very nice while others did not want to be there. Food in town was much better. Some of the bartenders did not know how to make basic drinks so consistency was not there. We did ask locals in town where to eat and sadly everyone had negative reviews about the Tailwater. I will give them credit that the manager heard we were disappointed so they comped one of our meals, also heard them doing this with other tables so it was not just us complaining. The hallway at the end of our stay had a horrible sewer stench like the septic was backed up. The saving grace was the spa. Great customer service, high end, and amazing massage for a good price. Will stay/eat elsewhere next time and just come down the the spa.
