Guilderland is a great vet. All of the staff from the front desk to the vet techs to the vet truly care about your animal. We go there for routine care for multiple dogs and cats, and I have spent a lot of time/appointments here with sick dogs and I always feel welcome, listened to, and well cared for. I have a pretty reactive and sometimes difficult dog and the staff are always so great with him, careful and understanding.Their communication is excellent, both via email and phone. Prices are extremely reasonable and normal for good vet care in 2024. Honestly, you get what you pay for, and cheaper is not usually better in this field.

Our kitty Bandit almost never has to wait once we arrive. He receives almost immediate and caring attention. Dr. Jones and her staff are the best!!

Dr. Whitney Jones is so great! She answers all of your questions and is so smart! She took a lot of time with me and my cat Carlito. She loves my cat, which makes me so happy! She loves animals and is a wonderful vet.

Our pet was met with happy and caring people who, following a short wait time, spent as much time as we needed to ask questions and see to the care of our cat. Even our cat was impressed and behaved uncharacteristically well for the wonderful doctor and vet techs. We are very happy to have had many furr babies cared for at Guilderland Animal hospital.

The staff and doctors are attentive and knowledgeable at GAH. They got my puppy in, took care of as quickly as possible, and had great follow up care. They worked with me financially so I could afford my animal’s care as well.

Absolutely horrible. My dog was dying and had bloat, they refused to see him and said that all the doctors were “busy”. I will NEVER use this vet again and do not recommend it to anyone. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have been going to this establishment since 2015. I had good experience when the older doctor was there. Since he left, it has gone down. I had a new puppy wellness exam on Monday 7/10. I could overhear the tech and vet talking in the back while in room. I could hear judgement about our breeder that we used for our golden retriever. When she came in, she immediately was judgemental. Our breeder put our puppy on an antibiotic because her litter had coccidia and giardia. The breeder we used is one of the most ethical breeders in NYS and highly recommended by Golden Retriever Club of America. She has been a breeder for 30 years. She said that our "breeder should stop breeding for a year and clean up her kennel with some bleach". So inappropriate. I also did not want pup to get the kennel cough vaccine as she is not being boarded or being around other dogs besides friends and family. She told me it was required to be part of this office. I called several vets around the area, and NONE required this vaccine. I will be suing if she has any bad reaction to the vaccine. I quickly called other places and found an office in Latham where my two cats and new pup will be going. Also, their prices are crazy. To spay a dog, it would be $900. At the other vet, $250-400. They also charge a tech fee when getting routine vaccines and the other clinic does not.

I was always a fan of this practice. While my favorite veterinarian left, I decided to stay on because Amanda is fabulous and I trust her. I have two small dogs, they need to have their vaccinations split up because it would be too hard on their little bodies and system. For each visit, two weeks apart to just get the additional vaccine shot, I am charged an additional $34 per dog for an office visit. This is absurd! The shot are just spread out because they are little. I am fine with the charge for the first visit. Big dogs can get all their shots at once but little dogs get hit with extra fees for walking in door for their follow up shot. Does not make sense and feel very slighted.

Great staff. The staff here are awesome with animals. My Aussie/German Shepherd is skidding and loud, the staff were great with him and very understanding of how he is. Totally helpful to boot. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

Great Animal Hospital!!!! Have been going to Guilderland Animal Hospital with my family pets for over 30 years. When I moved to Albany I still drove out to GAH for pet care. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring.

I wish I could give less than one star. Guilderland Animal Hospital consistently told my cousin his cat was fine and in no serious condition after finding out she had a high white blood cell count. After their final visit there they took their cat to an emergency vet to get a scan and found out their cat had severe cancer and was in terrible condition. They had to put her down because of the lack of knowledge and services provided by Guilderland Animal Hospital. DO NOT GO HERE! Unless of course you want them to overlook cancer in your animal causing them to die.

This place is garbage! They over charge for EVERYTHING. My dogs tail got stuck in the door and has a gash in it. I brought him in, just for them to wrap it in gauze, the same way I had been doing and they charged me $300! And I had to take him in a week later for them to see the healing process and wrap it again...ANOTHER $300!! They are rude and disrespectful. We finally switched to a different vet and I realized just how much they are robbing people. For the same thing the new vet only charged $70! Our dog has since passed and guilderland has continued to send vaccine updates for him, knowing he's passed away. I called to ask them to stop and they said they'd stop if I paid the money I owe them. They don't deserve a single penny from anyone. The whole place should be shut down.

Very unhappy to find out they seem to over charge on just about everything. The insanity I was told about the cost of fixing a 35 pound male... and forbid he exceed that 35 pounds. Not to mention service dog in training.... and one of the employees has the nerve to say he needs to be trained better. My dog just hit a year old the other day. He is trained to listen to my husband and I, your a stranger, yes it's gonna take a moment for him to warm up.Got cut off on the phone. Not at all thrilled with the services. Will be finding a new vet.

Friendly and caring staff who have a ton of patience. You're never rushed out of the door and they're happy to answer all of your questions. Clean facility, rooms could use updating, but the most important part is the care they provide and the level they provide it at. Would absolutely recommend.

Where do I start? Several issues at hand. ANOTHER VET is leaving and they wanted me to pay AGAIN- 3rd time - to have my 12 year old Chihuahua worked up by a 3rd doctor for dental extractions!!! UNBELIEVABLE! It took so long after the 1st appointment that I had to repay for services. He’s very old and has heart disease. Paying hundreds of dollars each time and waiting for call backs each month? And each time I go and give them my phone number they always call my boyfriend’s number. I’m literally sitting (each time I’ve brought him there )in the parking lot and they don’t call me.I worked in healthcare for the last 15 years and this is unacceptable service! I will not spend another dime at this facility.Lastly, 2 years ago, they misdiagnosed our 15 year old Maltese who fell down some stairs. We brought him in for scans and were told he’s fine. He died next to me the following evening!Shame on this “business” because that’s all it is there.

Excellent staff very friendly and supportive. For routine visits they are a little more expensive than most other vets. That being said the have an animal neutered or spayed their prices are insane. They charged me 470. To have a 44 lb dog neutered. When I showed up they had me sign a document saying I would pay. I mentioned that this may be wrong I've had my share of animals altered and this was 2-3 timed more. They told me it was by weight I replied it was half of this to have a horse altered. When we showed up to pick the pup up nope the total bill was 546. The microchip costing 72 of it. Never once did they reference the cost up until drop off.

The staff is organized, friendly, and very accomodating. The space is very clean and tidy. Our vet, Dr. Haber, is one of the most gifted and professional veterinarians we've ever worked with. She expertly executed all of the procedures during our visit, and very concisely explained all of the results and answered all of our questions.Highly recommend this place!

Kind, knowledgeable, and caring staff! We had 2 dogs years ago (16+ years ago)... 1 saddly passed due to kidney failure. The staff did everything they could to make her comfortable in her final days; their compassion was greatly appreciated during that time.... Most recently our 2 newer dogs were sprayed by a skunk at night they took them in right away the next day they were open and now we have happy fresh smelling dogs! Thank you to the staff for dealing with our stinky pups! You're lifesavers!

We have always been very happy with our cat's treatment here. The staff obviously loves animals and cuddles with the pets to keep them calm. Appointments are always timely and the entire experience is excellent!

Great if all you want to do is pay the $300 to $500 dollars for well check ups and maintenence. If your pet has an emergency you may just be told that they can't fit you in (too many important well visits) and to go pay for the emergency vet. Once you go to the emergency vet and get your routine stuff done there at the same time you may call Guilderland back the following year to schedule shots and a visit. At this time you may just be told that you have been removed from the system, are a new patient and that the practice is no longer accepting new patients.

Great place to take your Pets. My Wife and I took our Cat there and were treated with Dignity and Respect. The Staff and Technitions are great and help out a lot. The Doctors are great and Helpful and Extremely Great with your Pet. I would Recommend this Vet. For your Forever Friend. If I could give it 10Stars I would.

Took me about 2 months to get my dogs rabies certificate. They said I had to physically come pick it up which I did twice and both times they didn’t have it ready for me. You can leave voicemails for prescription refills, but don’t expect them to respond they’ll say they never got the message. The animal hospital on veeder road is much more reliable and they’re nice. It’s a who know who club. You see everyone reviewing how they’ve been going 20-30+ years and it’s great, but that’s because they’ve been going there forever and have a relationship with them. They don’t treat new customers the same way. Never had a good experience here and will be recommending to everyone I know not to go here

Wonderful vet practice. The staff is superb! Very accommodating. I hadn't established a vet for my cat ( recently moved) and where other vet practices gave me a hard time giving me an appointment for my sick cat, they were understanding and saw my cat promptly.

Suboptimal at best. I wouldn’t recommend bringing a dog here. They seem good with my cat but Only seem to want to make money off the dogs, has really gone downhill over the years.

We have been going to Guilderland Animal Hospital for over 35 years. We've always been very happy with their service and care. However, they have been getting very expensive. They charge $90 for a Lyme vaccine. Other vets I have checked in the area charge $40-$45. On the internet it is stated that the Lyme vaccinate is generally $40. My dog's yearly exam visit consisted of three shots, six months of heartworm medicine and an office visit - charged $250+. GAH would not do all the shots required at once for my dog. They indicated it was too many shots and had me come back. My dog needed a canine flu shot to be able to board him at a doggie daycare. The next visit consisted of a rabies shot and part 1 of the flu shot - charged $160+. Came back three weeks later for part 2 of the flu shot and charged another $80. Really.....$240 for two shots???? Very expensive and we have to look for another vet that does not have the exorbitant prices as GAH has. We would like to continue with them but cannot afford their prices anymore.

My dog was hit by a car and I ran down there because it was the closest place. They said they had no doctor on a Tuesday around 11am and turned me away. Can't believe people who are committed to the health of animals would be so callous telling me to drive to Latham when I don't know if I even have time. Turned out she had a bruise on her lung so there were internal injuries. 👎👎👎👎I wouldn't give them a penny.

Been a long time~(30plus years) customer of theirs with all my pets..(( & I've had many ))...but anyway because they haven't seen my 16 year old dog in 4 years that really needed an appt they tell me they won't see him and on top of that I was also told i would NOW be considered a new patient there all while we also have 3 other dogs that also went there then they proceded to also tell me that they are not accepting new patients at this timeAlways expensive with visits but was always willing to pay any amount for my pets that needed attentionIf I could give them 0 stars I would!!
