We have used Altamont Kennels for years. Everyone is very nice, the Kennels are clean and the dogs(2) get plenty of exercise. When we arrive for boarding they can't wait to get in and see everyone. I highly recommend thus place

The kennel we had been using had recently closed. I was very hesitant and worried about having to find a new kennel. Previously, when my regular kennel was closed and I used a different kennel, my girl tore her ACL because she was let out into the play yard, when I gave specific instructions for her not to be let out in the play yard. But I was extremely happy with how ReRe was cared for here. She has a habit of not eating sometimes if she is really tired. But they made sure to let me know, in case that was out of the norm. We will continue to use them with the utmost confidence that ReRe is well taken care of.

I've used this kennel for both boarding and for dog grooming. The place is spotless. My dog is always given a thorough washing and great cut. I toured the kennel prior to my first time boarding my dogs. It was very clean and didn't have any odors. I've boarded both my dogs and my cats (cats kept in a different building than the dogs, which is less stressful for the cats)there, several times. My pets were very well taken care of. The owners are very caring and trustworthy. I know that I do not have to have any worries about my pets while they are there! I highly recommend using this kennel. You can trust that your pets are being properly attended to and that all of their needs are being met.

Altamont Country Kennels was recommended to us by our usual kennel, who was completely booked at the time. I reached out to them via email, and they (Mary) were very quick to respond. Mary and Carl were able to answer all of my questions, and made it very clear that our good boy would be very... spoiled and asked us if it would be okay if they gave him additionals items during his stay. While on our vacation, they kept is updated on his stay and health, and were quick to respond when we had an additional question.I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a "doggo hotel."

I am so happy we found Carl and Mary at Altamont Country Kennels. We are very picky about who and where we leave our doggy babies and we are always comfortable bringing them here. We have used Altamont Country Kennels for over two years. I am a local Licensed Veterinary Technician, and would recommend them to anyone looking to board their pets. Our dogs are always wagging their tails at drop off and pickup. The staff is caring and knows each dog - they remember their personalities and "special needs". The facility is clean and the owners live on property, which is a big deal for me in case there is a problem - they are right there! They welcome calls while we are away, so we can check and see how they are doing. Our pups are always happy and clean when we pick them up. As a tech, I have total confidence in Carl and Mary. There have been multiple situations where their observations and quick thinking have resulted in them getting pets in their care treated by veterinarians while the owners were away. I guarantee you will be very happy if you choose to bring you pets here!! (Recommended also by Hazel, Flip and Dooligan!)

My 3 pups have been under their care for over 6 years now. The staff is friendly, attentive to your pup's needs. We also love the grooming services. We have a Mini Schnauzer, a Mini Golden Doodle and a Giant Schnauzer, so grooming capability is very important to us. They are great with grooming all three pups for us! I get a lot of comments on how handsome the Giant Schnauzer looks! We trust them and you should too!

I boarded my dogs here a few years ago, 2015 and they were so poorly cared for that they had each lost 10 and 15lbs and one of my dogs had bed sores all over her legs which required hundreds of dollars of medical care. We picked her up and were at the vet the next morning for medical attention after we realized how poorly she was. The owners completely under exaggerated how bad of shape she was in. My dog was traumatized and her mental health never fully recovered and neither did the scars from the bed sores.I can’t hold the owners responsible for my dog suffering extreme separation anxiety but I can hold them responsible for negligence. They neither called my vet nor the emergency contact person if anything were to be seriously wrong. They didn’t do those things bc they didn’t want to lose a check. This was my first and last experience boarding animals, I’ve never trusted anyone again with my pets. My dogs look so wonderful after their grooming today!! They were very caring with my dogs, who are rescue dogs and scared often. And they went above and beyond to make them comfortable. I will definitely be returning with my dogs and would highly recommend them for grooming!!

I haven't used these facilities because I found a closer option, but dropped in for a tour because I was out that way looking at another kennel that I found to be scary and unacceptable. In spite of my intrusion, the owner showed me the nice facilities and was very kind and loving to all of the animals on site. He couldn't walk past a critter without saying its name and giving a quick pet on the head. I would definitely recommend trying them.
