Went to the only store in town and they had a sign up saying closed until fresh truck put away! Allowed certain customers in and locked the door behind them and locked the door again when they let the customers out with their bags. Turned away 30 cars in the 40 minutes we waited for the doors to be opened

Great for the college town setting. It has almost anything you need. However, it will cost you. They have good deals on SOME things and others are outrageous. Being the only grocery store in town, it works out well and can really help in a pinch.

Unorganized, terrible management, and stocks food that should be thrown out. Don't recommend buying from this place at all at least the refrigerated/frozen food.

As a citizen of the United States I enjoy certain things. Fresh apple pie, my grandma’s kisses, a cold beer, and firearms. However, more than anything I love Christmas. Today November 8th at 7:21 I went into the dollar general to purchase some of that cheap Christmas joy that only the general of all dollars could bring me. After perusing the isles I noticed a disturbing lack of Christmas spirit but I was determined not to let this ruin my Christmas spirit that of which rivals St. Nicholas’ own. So after grabbing a pack of Christmas lights and a spider man Christmas stocking I was overjoyed when behind the desk I saw a young man ready and eager to assist in ringing out my Christmas items so I could continue my mission of bringing Christmas joy to all the boys and girls of Alfred. However, the young man who I originally thought to be Santa’s little helper I soon came to realize was closer to satans little helper. After trying to share some Christmas spirit with this young man he looked me right and the eyes and said isn’t it a bit early for Christmas. Never in my life have I ever been more offended by a statement in my life. Essentially what this man had said to me is I hate Jesus Christ and would prefer to celebrate the mistreatment of the native Americans I even believe at one point he looked me in the eyes and said let’s get it on. Needless to say I will be heading to Walmart to purchase the rest of my Christmas needs. In summary the store is 5 stars but the staff there is lead by a man who I can only assume is the direct heir to the third Reich. Have a great day and marry Christmas.

I love this store! Alfred's Dollar General is the best. Lots of bargains. I save lots of $ on coupon day, and the employees are friendly and helpful.

So busy they can't keep stuff in stock sometimes, like dairy. The only real option in Alfred for a small, quick and affordable shopping trip.

Sign on the door informing me to wear a mask which i obeyed. The employees were very pleasant and helpful when asked where an item was placed.
