I'd eaten hear almost every time I headed back down southbound on the 285 out of Monte Vista Colorado on my way down to clines corners in NM to jump back on I-40 east. As a truck driver it was nice to have a place to pull over and grab a really good meal. I ordered the bacon-avocado burger and the burrito grande with avocado and green Chili. They were absolutely amazing. I unfortunately no longer run that route but if I go thru there again I'm most definitely stopping and getting food. The staff are amazing and all ingredients are sourced locally. I really miss that food!

I stopped here on the bike (my bike is 3rd from left) while riding west and it was the best visit! I had a burger cooked with hatch chili, followed by an apple pie with pine nuts and hatch also - wow it was delicious. The flavors mixed together for a blend of spice and just a little heat. Everything about the place inside was cool and relaxed. I’ll definitely visit again when in the area.

Debbie is so wonderful! We love the chill vibe of this place and our daughter loves playing with the toys they have there. The food is WOW. Homemade creamy Italian dressing? Yes please! We had their special of the day and it was a great choice! Always gotta finish it off with homemade apple pie a’la mode yum yum!

There isn’t another restaurant for miles on this stretch of highway 64, but even if there was, Chili Line Depot would be worth the stop. I was surprised by just how much of their food was completely homemade and seriously delicious; the apple, green chili and piñon nut pie was a standout and I don’t think I’ll have anything else like it in my life. Not to mention the staff and owner were so welcoming to us and we had a great conversation about the history of the place. Highly recommend

It is such a cute diner type place with hamburgers, sandwiches, and Mexican food. The coffee was good too. We split a BLT sandwich. (So there were two plates like the one in the photo) The waitress was friendly. Highly recommend!

Stopped in to Chili Line Depot to grab a coffee before starting a bike ride in the area. Headed back in for dinner after the bike ride, lucked in to live music in addition to great food (had burritos and Green Chili Apple with 'pine' nuts) and friendly fast service. The owner (Deb) recognized us from morning coffee and came to say hi - she showed us a picture of Glen Campbell when he got his start there in the 40s. I wish I had a place like Chili Line Depot in my neighbourhood, I'd be a regular.

if you're looking for great food and friendly people look no further than the Chili Line Depot located in Tres Piedres, New Mexico. This is one location that came right in time. Located on highway 285 North in upper New Mexico. Open on Sunday for breakfast lunch and dinner. We were served by a pleasant lady and a pleasant young gentleman. My husband ordered the rib platter and I ordered the club sandwich. The soup of the day was minestrone and was one of the best that I have ever tasted. Also the potato salad is made I believe with mayo and Dill which is one of our favorites. the building itself is over a hundred years old. Be sure to read the history on the menu. Glen Campbell used to frequent and play at this establishment when it was a dancehall. The decor has a Western, native and railroad motif. Be sure to try a slice of their green chile apple pie. Take a whole one for your trip back home. Be sure to call in advance for such an order. At this time they have indoor and outdoor seating in addition to take out service. We will be sure to return on our next trip to New Mexico.

Watch out for the flying paper footballs!! Jk. This place was a terrific find while passing through tres piedras! Old rustic former dance hall, and railroad stop on a now defunct rail line. Now, a hotel/restaurant/grocery store. With terrific burgers, fresh fries and cold soda. Very friendly service. Ice cold local beer selection. Definitely recommended!

Interesting little home style cafe with equally interesting customers. A crossroads location with a variety of hungry travelers. The green chili cheeseburger is delicious with it's freshly homemade buns. It is a bit on the smaller side though served with a small side of potato chips. Soda in a can and you must ask for ice. Plan on dessert.

Worth the trip off the beaten path! Got to chat with owner Debbie - fascinating conversation about local history! Most meat is fresh from their own local ranch! Homemade deserts! Loved my burger and homemade potato salad! Beer and wine! Nice outdoor patio - dog friendly!! Resturant with lodge rooms. Next trip we'll plan to stay the night! Note half price drinks and music Saturday nights! 🤔👍

Small cafe with excellent food and service. Antiques are all over. Kinda wish it was the weekend so we could have stayed for a band.

Small town diner located in an old building. Half the fun is just looking around the place. It's not quick, each meal is made by one person in the back, so don't expect speed.

Great food. I had a burger & the potato salad - and both were wonderful. Deb was fabulous, despite being busy... same with the cook. Took some pie to go, which was yummy once I got home. I plan to head over for breakfast next weekend. They have live music every Saturday... and the restaurant is open later. I hope to check that out soon.

This is a do not miss spot. Breakfast was outstanding. If you skip the Apple Chile Piñon pie, shame on ya.

We were just passing through and decided to stop to use the restroom. They ask that you purchase something if you do. Totally not a problem for me. They were super friendly and welcoming. The food was good as well. I actually wished we could've stopped here again but we were too far away.

What a nice place! After 5 minutes in, we felt like in a family.Everyone was welcoming and smiling. The food was good and the live music was so pleasant!A small place for a small town, but definitely a big heart in everyone we met. They paid attention at the gluten free needs we had and we had no issues at all.Of course, we went back there also for breakfast! And can't wait to join them again in the next future....Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

What a nice treat -and surprise! We are making our way north and need a restroom stop (bathrooms were very clean) and we stayed for lunch. I ordered the BLT which was served on thick whole grain toast that was deliciously crunchy and the bacon was hot off the griddle. My husbands club sandwich was also amazing and a very generous portion. Love this place!

Best cheese burger I’ve had in years! 100% local beef. Crisp edges and fresh buns. If we pass this way again we are scheduling a repeat. The people are super sweet and genuine which is really comforting after a long drive. Love this place. Great job!!!
