I played here, for the first time, on Tuesday April 30th, 2024. This is a really nice course. Not too challenging, but several interesting holes. Absolutely beautiful views. Great tee boxes, fairways, and first-cut roughs. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars...the greens were incredibly slow. I've had to putt through standing water at other courses and that was faster! The pro shop staff were very helpful, professional, and courteous. Also, be aware of the limited hours of the restaurant / bar as there isn't any food or drink near here. This is still really early in the season for golf in northern NM, which may account for the greens.One more important item I forgot in my initial review...Most of the fairways are surrounded by knee high sage brush. Some fairways only have a couple of feet of rough before the sage brush starts. The locals don't even bother looking for their balls in the sage. If, by some miracle, you can actually see your ball in the sage, you shouldn't be playing golf, you should be playing the lottery!

What an outstanding and beautiful golf course. When viewing it on line and mapping the directions to the course, I was not that excited but we were visiting Taos for the day and wanted to play some golf. On-line it looks like a flat course in the middle of the valley near Taos. I was so wrong!!! Driving in it began to show its uniqueness and beauty. By the time I pulled into the the parking lot I was very excited to play the course. I should note, the weather was perfect being sunny, 55 degrees, and zero wind in early November. The fairways are of standard width, with undulations along the way. The course is shorter than other par 72 courses but it makes it fun to have the chance to get on the greens in regulations. I played the white tees which has a slope of 117 and my wife played the green with a slope of 101. To sum it up, the course is supper fun to play, it is beautiful and was in exceptional condition. The club house staff and starter were super friendly which made the whole day even better. I will remember this place for a long time and when we return, will being playing it again!

First time playing the course after coming to Taos for several years. Not sure why I waited so long. On a holiday weekend it wasn’t crowded. The pro shop was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had great food. The course was in great condition. Challenging but fun. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic conditions, greens are top notch. Kudos to the crew! Restaurant had some of the best food we had in Taos during our short stay. The guys in the Pro Shop were great - friendly, helpful and genuinely cared about our experience at the course. Would absolutely recommend and I'm hoping to get back there again soon!

Great course! I'm from out of town and heard good things about the course and I enjoyed it! I didn't much care for the dated motored golf carts, and it surprised me that the golf paths are gravel and dirt. Because they watered to keep the course looking great, the paths were muddy in places and when they weren't muddy they were throwing up dirt all over. I was paired with a member Greg, who was a great guide! His wife Diana walked along with us. Really nice people and I really enjoyed my time!

Beautiful course, staff is super friendly. If you can’t hit it straight, bring a couple of extra balls. My wife and I had a great time.

What a "Gem" to have a first-rate top-notch course like this in Taos..along with Taos Ski Valley, Taos Country Club is the bride & groom and icing on the wedding cake! And Chelsea, the Cart Professional, Server & Bartenderess, what a "Gem" representative of Taos Country Club...and She should become the Poster Child for Taos Chamber of Commerce!!! And Austin in the Club House!

I've played this course a couple of times/year for 25 years. I love the layout, and the greens are always in great shape. However, the bunkers have generally always been pretty bad. Some have little to no sand, some very fluffy...so it's hard to figure out how to deal with those conditions. Also, I walk the course vs ride, and since we live out of town, I use the pull carts the course has. The good news is that there is no fee for the pull carts, the bad news is that they are exactly worth the price. There are no functioning straps to hold the bag on the cart. a recommendation would be to provide better push carts, and charge a few bucks for them, or rent/provide bungee cords to golfers so they can strap their clubs on. Despite that, I still enjoy the course and recommend it to Taos visitors.

Senior foursome, played front nine. The course, clubhouse and staff were all good. The couse is really playable for duffers like us while still being challenging and fun as long as you keep it on the fairways. The "rough" is all sagebrush, so bring a few extra balls. The old, noisy, rough-riding gas carts were a hassle. They really need to scrap those and get electric carts. A few more signs pointing the way to the next tee would be appreciated, too. We all look forward to returning.

Fun track! Great fairways! Nice greens!!! Awesome counter guy!!!A little pricey, it’s definitely time for new carts!!!Currently and 8, I played the tips. The elevation and wind got me on all the par 5s… blowing it over the green on approach.Also lost a ball on a par three… wind and elevation… it was like a mystery!Ended up with a solid 81… left a couple shots out there. Left happy and satisfied.Very entertaining track!

We live in the Taos area part time and have for years. We are trying our best to be full-timers and this course is another positive to hurry us alongI’m not a member but we bring guests along to play often. They are always impressed with the surrounding beauty, the great fairways and greens, the restuarant and the staff throughout the whole club. The lack of trees concerns most guests at first, but they soon realize that the bunkers and sage brush present more challenges than any tree!The course was perfect, but the main thing is that we always have such a relaxing and entertaining good time. The club is FUN.You want to get to 5 stars? Then just put some asphalt on the cart paths!!!! They aren’t bad, but it is the greatest distraction on your course. NB

Played here today, July 9th, 2023. Course is a bit dry however, the greens are fantastic! Overall, course needs rain, who doesn’t, but is great condition. Hit it straight or reload. The sage brush is brutal. Bev girl, Monica, saw her 2x, super friendly and had the “necessities”. Inside, Jacob was spot on. Very much enjoyed this course. Highly recommended!

We love dining at Taos Country Club. They're open limited hours, but Sunday Brunch was delicious. Full bar, great menu, nice salads. Lovely setting, too.

My partner and I came to Taos for the weekend for his birthday. Days ago, he booked a T time at the country club golf course. We arrived 30 min prior to our time, to be told they over booked and we were booted from out original time. We got our cart and went to the starter at the first hole (who was super nice and a great guy) he was trying to get my partner in as a single as soon as possible. Apparently if you are a regular here, you get priority. The time they were able to get him in, would have pushed our entire day back. So instead we opted to have lunch so he could hit some balls on the range and get our money back for the round of golf. The guy at the counter didn’t seem too concerned about the mix up. The host at the restaurant was completely rude to me. Seeing as we booked this days ago, communication would have been helpful. We could have been flexible on start time had we known we got booted from our slot. Super disappointing and unfortunately we probably won’t be back.

Terry and Austin (Pro Shop) both exceeded expectations with detailed course info, guidance to facilities , etc., (of their own volition)..... 2022 was a great monsoon season for NM and the greens keeper took advantage - The course conditions were excellent. We played in mid-October so there were not too many players on the course and our rounds were < 4 hours. Bunkers are challenging (thin), but that's not unusual on NM desert courses. Looking forward to playing here again.

It wasn't easy planning a wedding during a pandemic but Jake Herrera General Manager/Event Coordinator at Taos Country Club made it happen. He went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and special. Jake and the staff were ALL amazing, helpful, friendly, and always making sure we were well taken care of. The venue was the perfect place to have a wedding! The views were beautiful, the food was delicious and did I mention the staff was AMAZING! I had my wedding rehearsal dinner at The Taos Country Club. Katie made me feel at ease when planning, the staff and the facilities are wonderful. The chef even accomodate my gluten allergy. There was a slight snag, but Katie and Jake made things right as soon as they were able. Don't hesitate it's a wonderful place for an event.

Wow, I loved this place. I can’t say enough good things about the guys at the golf shop. They were so nice and helpful and went above and beyond. I felt welcomed and supported as a total golf novice. Also you cannot beat the views, stunning! Great service at the Terrace as well. Can’t wait to come back!

As a local I appreciate that people have made the effort to have a first class golf course here that is also affordable. The course is beautiful, in exquisite condition thanks to Mike the greenskeeper. The facility also boasts a quality pro shop with knowledgeable staff and an excellent bar/restaurant. I just wish I was a better golfer.
