Gear and service were fine. However, I got an unexpected upcharge when picking up my gear - $16, or 14% of my total pre-paid bill. There was some fine print on the receipt saying that they could increase the price whenever they wanted. Charging one price in advance but a different price on delivery of goods is a dishonest and greedy business practice. I will steer friends/family away from Cottam's and other Christy's-affiliated locations.

Recently rented for 2 days from Cottams at Taos Ski Valley. Team was helpful in getting me setup. Needed a minor adjustment and they were very responsive. Highly recommend.

Decent equipment, some staff friendly, provide free storage of cold equipment. Location at base of ski area is convenient. No fuss no muss rental and return. Knocked them down a star for not providing free warm storage of your regular shoes (they do offer coin operated lockers).

Cottam's was awesome to work with. My ski rentals were perfect and they were priced competitively. The staff was friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. Kirt was especially attentive and made my experience stand out. Thanks guys, I'll be back!

been renting here for years but scammed me out of 50 dollars never going back and telling my friends not to go either we going to the taos rentals from now on, also charged my friend and me 11$ for no reason even though we paid fully online,

They have excellent customer service. The staff was super helpful and always friendly. The selection of ski equipment and merchandise was exceptional. I would definitely recommend Cottam's as your first and only choice!!

Simply the best customer service. The team got to know us, our needs, skills, etc. and in a few days actually knew us by name. I could not have provided better service to myself. Our new "go-to" when in Taos!

Super friendly and helpful staff. They met us outside each day to assist with ski storage and to make sure equipment was performing well and fit was correct. Staff even took time to help our kids in and out if their boots.Highly recommend.

So helpful - we had first time skiers and they walked us through the whole process seamlessly. They made an intimidating process fun and were super helpful.Additionally, there was some confusion with the ski school rentals vs Cottam’s for our kids. The manager at Cottam’s (Ingrid) and her staff were so incredibly helpful at smoothing it out and making sure we had a wonderful ski trip.Seriously, the best ski rental company in New Mexico. Will be back.

Seriously the best customer service ever. I came in both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend for a same day rental and got a great set of skis. They will treat you like family and do everything they can to make you're experience on the mountain perfect. I would highly recommend renting from this shop if you are visiting Taos.

Loved this shop, the selection, and the staff. I was able to change out my skis about halfway through the first day to fit my needs. Recommend parking first, and then picking up your skis the morning you hit the lift. They have lockers for day use, so you can stick your shoes in there.

Steve was super helpful in directing the ski rental process and even went out of his way to give me that last trail map off the wall in the early morning when everything else wasn't open. He mentioned 31 years in Taos and Cottam's surely has a gem of an employee. Jerry was awesome in getting me some demo skis, eventually setting me up w Rossignol Black ops and a more comfy pair of boots. Everyone in Cottam's was great to work with and we look forward to coming back soon.

Not sure exactly which Cottam's to give the review to, but the storefront at the TSV cattle car drop is where we went. The guys there, especially Curt, Steve, and Jen treated my family like royalty over the Christmas break. I just can't say enough about the great service provided. Excellent job! We will definitely be using you guys again!

We had the best experience with the guys at Cottam's this week. They had our reservation ready when we arrived and we're so kind to my kids as the fitted them and got all their gear together. The gear they had for us was top notch and we all had the best time of our lives skiing. When we wanted to try other gear they were super nice and helpful. The convenience of this shop for getting to/from the slope is worth every penny we spent. Just a terrific experience and highly recommend them.

HIGHLY recommend renting from Cottam’s! I had issues with skis/boots from another place and they did not hesitate to help me out anyway. The boots from the other place were so worn that I ended up renting from Cottam’s, which made a huge difference in my ski experience. I wish I could remember the managers name because she was so amazing, knowledgeable and professional. If I ever ski Taos again I will be coming here for rentals.

Every single interaction I’ve had at Cottam’s has been beyond positive. Their staff is friendly, helpful, and lightening fast without leaving you feeling rushed. I visited Cottam’s ski shop to get some last minute skis when I found out my old skis would not work for me. Everyone at the shop were extremely kind and helpful. Ingrid helped me to find a good pair of skis that fits my ski style. She offered to let me rent the skis for a day to try them out and when I decided to purchase them she took the rental cost off of the price for the skis! I ended up getting several items and the customer service was excellent and they gave me a great deal! I would definitely recommend using this shop if you need rentals or any other gear. They go above and beyond to meet your needs!

Spent 4 days there last week. Rented demo board and boots. Aaron, "AAA", Alex, and Ryan were great. The service was quick, accommodating, and very friendly. The shop seemed well organized and we never had to wait for anything. They had all of our gear ready and waiting for us when we arrived. I will definitely rent there again.

Cottam's Ski Shop was great to rent skis from. The staff was very knowledgeable and everything was super easy. I recommend to reserve online before going. Our skis and equipment was ready when we got there. The whole process was easy. My wife and I also skied a day less than we rented. We turned the skis in early and Cottam's gave us store credit. We will use them next year when we return to Taos.

Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful! We were so impressed and we would definitely rent from them again. They had all of our gear ready to go and super helpful with getting the kids set up and in their boots. Pricing was good and even better when reserved online. I would highly recommend Cottam’s!

Everyone in this shop was super friendly. We reserved 4 sets of skis and 2 snowboards ahead of time. They had everything waiting for us. The location of Taos ski village was very convenient. I rented before from the Taos city location in Jan of 2017 and they were all super friendly there as well. The equipment was in good condition. I will continue to use Cottam's!

Great ski shop! Reserved my rentals online and a friendly customer service rep called to confirm my orders before arrival. Upon arrival, I was helped immediately and my skis were ready. Usually obtaining rentals can be hectic but Cottam's made the experience smooth and pleasant! Would definitely rent from them again the next time I make my way out to Taos!

Second year that we've used Cottam's and see no reason to find anywhere else to rent ski equipment from. Fast, efficient fittings, great prices, well-maintained and quality gear. We set up an online reservation (providing a great 10% discount) and were in and out of the shop on a relatively busy Saturday morning in under 30 minutes. They have a full range of other equipment (hats, gloves, liners, helmets, shirts, etc) at reasonable prices. There is a shop in Taos proper providing extended hours in the event that you're staying in town instead of the Ski Valley, providing the same fast and friendly service. Recommended.

Very friendly and nice staff. Always willing to help and accommodate. We had aliases with our ski boots and brought them in and they exchanged them for a better pair that was way more comfortable at no cost. Definitely recommend this place.P.S. Ryan was a great help! He went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met.

Renting skis from Cottam's is so easy. Plus renting on the mountain means no lugging skis back and forth to your car. Pretty sweet deal. The employees are friendly and there are a ton on hand so you never have to stand around waiting for help. They're very easy going about changing out equipment if you feel like you need to (for instance if your boots don't quite fit right). Also if you ski in March like we do, there are usually really good end of season deals on equipment upstairs in their ski shop.

We had a wonderful rental experience. We reserved our equipment online prior to our spring break ski trip. We were impressed with the great customer service and were pleasantly surprised that our equipment was ready and waiting for us. It was a speedy 10 minutes in and out the door.

Thunderbird Cottam’s is awesome! When we finally made it back from doing the whole mountain with blue and green trails that were great, they greeted us to carry our skis with high fives and cheers. It’s a great family—Alex, Ian, Aaron, Drew, and Ryan—they rock. We had a wonderful time! They were the best deal. The location was so convenient—right by the parking at the highest elevation parking lot, under Alpine Village suites. Don’t stop anywhere else! Thunderbird Cottam’s is the best! They will make your great ski trip even better!
