The doctor and staff are wonderful and caring when it comes to having to euthanize your furry family member. I never expected the quality of care my pup received. I was able to spend time with her before her time was up. She went to sleep easily and peacefully. Just a few days later I received a lovely sympathy card and it really touched my heart. Absolutely the best experience I could have had in making such a hard decision.

Dr.’s Dean & Pepita are wonderful with their pets and owners. It’s hard enough to take your pet to the vet, but to have people who care and treat you and your pet with compassion is a blessing. The care they provided our dog, who had to have surgery, was amazing. They kept us posted on his progress during his stay, did a wonderful job to make him better and followed up with us on a regular basis. We drove over 130 miles to receive service from Animal Haven Veterinary Clinic and it was all worthwhile.

Needed to make an emergency visit on a day when they closed at noon. We were almost 60 miles away, and had never used them before. Even though they had a busy morning schedule, they fit us in.Extremely professional staff, excellent prices for treatment. Best place in Socorro! Took such good care of my 6 month old pup. Gave her treats to calm her down, played with her, even gave a good belly rub before starting exam. No monkey business. Very reasonable price as well! They take pride in their work! Definetly recommend!

Dr. Dean and Dr. Pepita have been our primary vet for almost 3 years. We LOVE them, our dogs love them. They have an excellent staff. They are all so passionate about their job and are so caring towards our animals. They keep us posted regarding routine care and are always a pleasure to see. During the COVID 19 lockdown, our dog got extremely injured. We had to call for an emergency visit and they took her right in. Hands down the best in Socorro.

I have taken two different cats here over the course of the last year and a half. The first one came in with frequent vomiting soon after I adopted her. The vet was not very friendly and did not give me very much information other than that her kidney levels were slightly elevated. He did not explain what that meant but made it out like it was not a big deal and sent me home with a supplement. A couple of months later when the vomiting came back, I took my cat to a different vet (Ruidoso Animal Clinic) and found out that she had some pretty far progressed kidney failure and that was causing nausea and her vomiting. I feel like the vet did not do his part to properly warn me and educate me on the health concerns for my pet whom I cared for very dearly. (Shout out to Ruidoso Animal Clinic though for providing the best and most compassionate care possible all the way to the end). Today, after getting a new cat, I took him in for a health checkup. They took my cat in, and very quickly returned him with a piece of paper and no other information. The paper cited a variety of small concerns. They said he was under weight even though he is of a perfectly healthy weight for his age. They didn't mark down the health concerns I told them he already had. They put down the wrong age for him on his paper. They didn't notice or say anything about his prominent ring worm spots. And most importantly there was no time taken to explain to me whether or not my kitten was healthy. I wholeheartedly believe that this vet clinic does not have the compassion and thoroughness that is required of a good vet. I think that it is very likely that they will miss warning signs of major health issues in your pet as they did with mine and I advise you find another vet if possible. They might be good with larger animals, but at least not with cats.(Side note: The staff is VERY nice. That doesn't make up for it.)

Animal haven is a great local veterinary practice located in quiet Socorro, NM. Located on Frontage Rd, this establishment is visible from the north freeway exit into town. With the blue roof, its easy to spot. A husband wife duo are the vets on staff, a friendly receptionist assists with all info, scheduling, and billing concerns. Complimentary human and pets snacks can also be found in the lobby area. Even though this vet clinic isn't massive, or luxurious, it helps the animals, instructs owner on how to care for the animals, and does a very good job. My family fur balls will continue to go here as long as we live in Socorro.
