This place is amazing POINT BLANK PERIOD. This is the most amazing and friendly staff I have ever experienced anywhere. My dog was attacked by my neighbors dog they got me in immediately, made me feel like my dog was in good hands and she sure was. They assure you no question is a stupid one. Thankyou again Gila animal care I appreciate all of your staff .

We've had some good vets for our dogs and cat over the years, but Doc is everyone's favorite. Dr. Wilmeth and the clinic staff are honest and work hard for the wellbeing of the animals in their care. We thank our lucky stars to have their skill and dedication in our community.

Absolutely top notch, went out of their way to help my dog after hours, never had been there and they treated me like a long time customer. Saved my dogs after being bit by 2 rattle snakes! If I lived there they would Absolutely be my vet of choice!!

Our 14 yo yorkie was going down hill quickly and as we are part timers in Mimbres valley did not have a vet locally for our dogs. After reading the reviews, we called Gila Animal Clinic and they got us in the same day. They were very compassionate and caring. I am going to start taking our dogs to them when we need vet services while in NM. Their prices are quite reasonable and Dr Wilmeth is very knowledgable.

My 10 year old schnoodle started having seizures yesterday and I thought I was losing him so we took him here after being referred. They took him back quickly ran some tests and found out he had a bad heart murmur. He gave him a shot to get his meds started and a couple of prescriptions, one in case he starts having seizures again and one because he's retaining water. This morning he woke up acting like his old self already. I am so happy now.

Here we go with the house dogs that think they are ACTION FIGURES!TWIG apparently ate something on one of our mountain side walks that made her inerds go loco....It was Friday afternoon before Xmas so figured if I didn't get her help then she AND I would have a not so Merry Christmas. I called the clinic and they slide me in an early afternoon slot. TWIG and I were in and out faster than one of Santa's reindeer.Dr. Wilmeth checked her out and got her a couple scripts to get her on the right track.It is now Christmas afternoon and she sure is much better and even went for a walk...leash on.

This is by far the best vet in Silver City! They’ve taken such good care of my puppy. They helped her pull through parvo, were very helpful with making sure she got all of her shots, and were amazing for her spay. I’d give more than 5 stars if i could.

They do a good job, and their prices are better than most in town. I've only had my dog there for some ringworm so I can't say how they do with more serious things, but they worked with me in keeping payments manageable and the staff is friendly. Nothing stand out but their doing good work over there.

While on a road trip, I picked this place at random and was able to get a same day appointment. The staff were kind and efficient. The vet was truly the nicest veterinarian I’ve ever met. My dog is feeling so much better now. Highly recommended.

Great doctor! Terrible front desk customer service. I am so grateful to have found a great veterinarian. After some scary episodes with my dog’s heart condition, Dr. Paul Wilmeth made the appropriate adjustments to get her condition completely stabilized. Along with the proper medications, and some newly implemented lifestyle adjustments, we now have our happy, active dog back! The good doctor deserves my 5 stars.However... the front desk person has been difficult from the beginning. Her attitude is cold, sharp and brash, and treats everyone as if they are doing something wrong, even in their kindness towards her.WRONG PILLS & RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE:Recently I picked up my dogs meds, and realized after opening them when I got home, that they were the wrong pills. I verified online with a pill identifier and I was given Enalapril instead of the prescribed Benazepril (Which was labeled on the bottle) — a serious mistake considering the good doctor had suggested we take my dog off those and onto a different ACE-inhibitor several months ago since she wasn’t doing well on them. When I took them back, the woman at the front desk said, “It could be a different manufacturer.” But I told her I had verified it. They were beige not white, and had the labels T and 5 on them. They were definitely Enalapril NOT benazepril. She stormed into the back and eventually can back with the correct pills, and said sharply to me “They ARE similar pills” then as I started saying “Yes, but similar is not the same” she stormed away into the back room again. She stormed away before I could make clear to her that the doctor had taken my dog off Enalapril because of a bad reaction to it. While they ARE both ACE-inhibitors, they are very different pills. Benazepril, as the doctor told me has some added kidney protection, while Enalapril does not.It was scary to have gotten the wrong pills, and get treated badly trying to correct the issue. It was a good thing I pay close attention to my dog’s pills.Good doctor! TERRIBLE front desk lady who seriously lacks good customer service skills and basic courtesy (1 star). “Apologies for the mistake on behalf of the clinic.“ was all she needed to say. Nothing more.Dr. Wilmeth, you deserve a better front desk person.

The staff obviously knew what the were doing. They were extremely competent. However they were not overly helpful and seemed to want us out of there as fast as humanely possible. They charged us for a 'consultation', but told us almost nothing. Also quoted us half of what we ended up being charged - which was fine, for the services we got, but we really would have appreciated the warning. Overall, wouldn't go back there unless there was an emergency.

I brought our dog in, about 20 min late but it was no problem, because we thought a couple of her nipples were infected. It turned out to be tumors. They had her come in for surgery the next morning as early as possible and removed them. This was just last week so we are still waiting to see if they were malignant or benign. Good thing is they were taken out with no hesitation. Also, everyone that works there generally has a good attitude.

I was visiting from out of town when my dog was attacked and eventually needed some sutures removed. The front desk staff as well as the vet and vet techs/assistants were very friendly and helpful on our two visits. They went above and beyond, in my opinion, just to make sure my pet was taken care of. Thank you, Gila Animal Clinic!

If you go here, you will receive quality, compassionate care for your pets. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were most impressed at the empathy they showed when we had to put our old beloved pet to sleep. Highly recommend this clinic!!
