The Food Basket harkins back to the 90s possibly late 80s feel of how grocery stores used to look and smell. The design and aesthetic of the building along with the run down interior is unfortunately seen these days amongst the sea of bland and boring modern decor. Walking into this grocery store is like going back 30 years or more. It really makes one nostalgic in the feels. The staff was friendly, prices for things are a little high but im honestly happy to pay them because of the retro feel and look. I honestly hope this place never changes.

If I could go lower I would!!! The place smelled as soon as you walk in the customer service was a -100 called and complained to the manager and he did nothing at all. I told the cashier that the total was wronged she looked at me and stated very rudely what are you a math genius or something well it don't take much to add a few items pluse the tax per dollar I guess that's why she is working at that store .I will no longer come to this store and nather will my family. I will drive the hour to Deming were the customer service has always been on point .. you will not find that here....

I shop here (Silver City one) occasionally. The fried chicken and prepared items are good. Service is just OK. Employees spend more time talking to each other than waiting on customers. I thought when they repaired the freezers awhile back, they would do away with the "freezer-burn" items. But it seems like one of the units is always being emptied for problems. While leads to icy ice cream and re-frozen items like pizza and frozen meals. Check the sell by dates on most items carefully.

I show here quite often. Today just awful. My estimate was about $20 of the total. I had distractions and was not watching the screen. Was charged 9.99 for older bananas that were marked .99. I noticed other items on sale that were not priced right.

I am not sure what days specifically they set up their salad bar, but I highly recommend trying it out. I made my own salad with exactly what I wanted for $5.99, such a steal.

Convenience store. Semi-high prices. Very very little organic selection. I really liked the jalapeno poppers in the deli but they've only been there once. Every time I go afterwards they're all out I don't know why they don't cook more or order more. Also some of the people in the deli have absolutely no personality, no customer service, and get my deli order wrong most of the time.

Great small grocery store. My favorite part is the deli. Love the fried chicken. Not as crazy with the produce remodel. Very modern but reduced selection doesn’t encourage you to browse. When there was an abundance displayed you were encouraged to load your basket with all the beautiful fruits and veggies.

I only been there couple of times but some of the employees are just rude. When you ask question where this item at they look at you like they seen something died. They got up on the wrong side of bed. Have good day.

What a pleasant place to shop at. I was in town getting corrective surgery for my dog. Popped in to this store and was greeted by the bearded maintenance man. He welcomed us in and was very kind. The store is large with well signed aisles, so you know where to go to get what you need. The produce department is amply stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. The meat department has excellent choices. Thank you to all team members for a great experience.

Kinda dreary place. Not very bright in all areas. Prices no better no worse. It's not a very far wall for nearby neighborhoods. Fair selection of fresh meats and alcohol. They have a deli. Some prepared food there.

Building is in desperate need of repairs. Seems the owners are proud to have more than 10 giant leaks. The poor deli had a small waterfall during the last storm and the make shift rain catchers throughout the store have been visible to customers for months it's a wonder how it hasn't been shut down by the health inspector.

It's our local grocery store and compared to other grocery stores. Like Kroger Albertsons, and Smith's that is major corporation. It's a owned by a Family that started the grocery store that lives in Silver City, New Mexico. It has employees that respects and appreciates every customer that lives in Silver City and as well the ones that come for vacation and just visiting our little local community. They provide excellent and polite service to everyone that shops for groceries there. They are a beautiful privately owned company that provides a well done service to the there community.

It was 8:02 p.m. and the section where you get your money orders was shut down I had asked one of the workers if he was able to get somebody over there to give me a money order the guy just didn't really feel like he cared too much to help the customers he might have been at the end of a long shift who knows I might have been in a bad mood the meat selection is a good food basket you can definitely count on finding the right cuts of meat there as for the other Idols a little come back but for the prices it's not too bad good it's watching

Prices can be higher than Walmart. Most fruit you have to check (they don't keep the rotten stuff out very well and it affects the newer stuff they toss on top). Baked goods are yummy and the hot deli isn't to bad either.

On 01/23/22 I visited the Food Basket from arizona while visiting family. Unfortunately I lost my wallet in the Parking lot. I went inside to ask for the manager to see if he could review cctv TV to see if he could give me any hints where i lost it. I approached the liquor corral and asked the two ladies working to contact a manager. I had to inturrupt their full mouth conversation, and one turns to me and says, "what do you want" where I asked for the manager. Eventually I got him and he helped me. I called back the next day to ask of it possibly was returned and customer service asked who I needed to reach, i said customer service please, and the lady rudely asked thos is customer service, "what do you want?" Is this the store slogan What do you want? My family said thats why the locals call it the Trash Basket. I gave it a shot and they proved the nickname right. Terrible customer service.

The past few months the meat and fresh produce have really stepped up their game! I have now started buying the majority of my groceries here again (with the exception of specialty health foods). Glad management has been on top of things and i no longer have to deal with the crowds of albertsons or giving walmart anymore money than i have to.

Love that they have an entire aisle for people like me with dietary restrictions of celiac disease. Produce and meat are great and they are the ONLY grocer in town where I can buy a case of soda that is refridgerated so I can instantly enjoy a cold soda from a can, I don't like bottled soda. This place is great and I know the owners, they are very good people who care about the community they serve.

I'd give them five stars if they would only enforce the mask mandate, every time I'm in there there's always at least a half-dozen people flaunting not wearing a mask.
