The owner seriously injured my dog. Second and last time going here. The first time, the owner left abrasion on the underbelly of my very sweet poodle but left it to me to discover at home. I have taken my dog to Petco for years, never an issue. Against my better judgement, I went back because Petco has shut its grooming operations and I was desperate. When the nasty lady/owner called and told me to pick up my dog, I asked "you didn't nick him this time, did you?" She hung up on me. She didn't nick him, she peeled his skin off like an orange rind.RESPONSE TO OWNER: You don't know who I am? How many dogs did you maim last week? I know, it might be hard to keep them straight.

Took my dog for a simple nail trim. It seemed to take awhile. I could see the person somewhat through the view window and she was really struggling with my dog. I will admit that she’s not a fan of nail trims. However, I’ve never had an issue anywhere else and she’s typically well behaved.Even noticed after leaving that not all of my dogs nails were trimmed but I wasn’t going back. Took her to another place for another nail trim and my dog had zero issues.

Don’t do it! My dogs (poodles) were butchered! She shaved their ears and face. The head had no shape whatsoever. Poodles shouldn’t look like this. When I picked up my pets they were trembling and shaking. The Owner was screaming at customers and pets. Don’t allow your dogs to be abused by this person. This was the worst grooming experience of their lives. Clearly this women hasn’t the experience or temperament to be working with pets.It should also be noted this woman has horrible reviews on all the major sites and always there is an excuse for her behaviors. In response to her butcher job she said shaving the ears was “humane”. There is zero humanity or compassionate about this lady. She also said that this was a standard poodle face. I beg to differ. There is no shape to the job. She was simply too lazy to comb out the dogs properly. She SCREAMED at me for opening her gate. Yes, there was a sign saying do not enter, but my dog was whimpering and crying. There was no other animal in the pen with her. I simply wanted to scoop my pet up in my arms because she was trembling. In hindsight, the owner started her screeching long before I saw the hack job. She was clearly already on the defensive. When I rang her back to say we would be stopping payment she said I should do just that. She KNOWS she did a rotten job. This woman has the humanity and compassion of a rabid pit bull. Everything about her character exudes hatefulness.Again, unless you are up for a rash of abuse for yourself and pet, don’t step foot in this hell hole. My family and I are traumatized. Just don’t do it!

Don't do it. Trail of blood all over my house after my dog was groomed. Bleeding from undercarriage from reckless use of electric razor. Googling "how to get blood out of sofa fabric." Owner blamed us.

I will never take my dog there again. The staff was very rude and the did not do a good job. If they are rude to customers can you image how they treat the animals.

They do an excellent job grooming my temperamental elderly Persian cat. They are professional and put my cat first. You can’t be mad at this facility when they do what is best for your animal and maybe not what you ask or prefer. I think several of the negative reviews are coming from that exact scenario.

I help care for two older standard poodles and have been bringing them to Wags for grooming for several years. Stevie was great, and she is missed. The new groomer is wonderful however, and does a great job. Now I am also using Wags doggy daycare services, and it's a lifesaver. Thank you Sue and staff for your great customer service, clean place, reasonable rates and being so attentive to the pup's care and well being.

The grooming service for our cat over the past 7+ years has been excellent. We would not take her anywhere else! She is not the most cooperative cat, but Stevie has never had any issues. She always looks great after her grooming. I highly recommend their services!

My fur babies and I love Wags! The staff is always happy to see us and very accommodating to our needs. Whenever my pups know that they get to go to daycare they are uncontrollably excited and can't wait to get in the door. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a top quality place for their fur babies during the day or for extended periods of time. They also groom my pups regularly and I have always been very happy with the outcome. I am also grateful for the reserved parking spaces that they keep for us so that my fur babies do not have to walk on the hot asphalt to get inside.

Wags is a wonderful daycare - and this location is specifically for small dogs. Stevie and Sue are very knowledgeable about and skilled with dogs of all backgrounds, and they have earned our trust over the past year. We have also been impressed with the kindness and patience of their staff. Our miniature schnauzers come home tired and happy and better behaved.Stevie is also a pet groomer and did a great job on our girls, adjusting to our request for short cuts rather than a traditional schnauzer long skirt and feathery legs. She reminded us that, at this elevation, the dogs would benefit from longer hair on their backs for sun protection - something I hadn't thought about. She schedules specific appointments so that the dogs are only there for as long as it takes them to get groomed, which is especially nice for our elderly dog.I highly recommend both the daycare and the grooming services. These are hardworking people who love animals and provide great care for them. Sue and Stevie are honest, kind, and direct. I'm grateful they're in the neighborhood and it's a pleasure to support their business.

Scheduled an appointment with them for 6pm; go my appt and they are closed, even though their website says they are open until 6:30pm. Called, no return call back. Nice way to do business Wags.

I can only assume that the negative reviews about Wags are either from grouchs or from competitors. I have had my Persian and Himalayan cats groomed here for over 17 years and have always had wonderful customer service and excellent grooming, I went to several groomers before Wags and found Stevie and Sue to be far better than the other places So often a review tells more about the reviewer than about the place reviewed. I am and always have been totally pleased with Wags and would go nowhere else.

I am sad to see negative reviews. I have a BICHON and they are very difficult to groom. They treated BEAU to a beautiful groom job and were able to fit him in without an appointment. I understand they do not normally take non appointments but he had just been shipped on an airplane and was in dire need of a groom. The cut has lasted 90 days and I am going to be back for a 2nd appointment soon. Great job ladies. Ignore the haters.. This is a great place for dog lovers! Worth every penny even though maybe priced higher than some salons

Update from the response: Okay. Listen, had you said anything remotely close to what you had typed to me I would have been much more empathic. However, this was my experience. I walk in and say hello I am here for an appointment etc and the FIRST thing you say to me is a scoff and a remark on her size. Then after about 45 seconds, upon realizing that you are unable to give a medium sized dog a bath (i was not there for a full grooming appointment) you only say, and i quote, "she wont get in the bath. I will have nothing to do with IT" in the rudest and most petulant tone you manage. No sorry, no explanation, that's it. Had you bothered to explain anything I would not have been upset, regardless of whether or not a "groomer" could manage a BATH on a medium sized dog. You indicate that you are 73, and that's a fine reason not to want to bath a medium adult dog, however it is not an excuse for your completely rude, dismissive, and immature behavior. I am glad that my appointment was cancelled so that my money did not support a complete blight on the Santa Fe community. Based on the reviews of this business, this is not an isolated experience.I have some edits for your website. Might want to remove this quote "handling all kinds of dog breeds and understand the best methods to treat your unique pet. Our knowledgeable staff provides patience and care for dogs with anxiety, dogs that require medication, and shelter dogs." Because it is simply not true and does not represent your business model. And while you're there, it seems you may want to remove the entire services section because its clear you have zero interest in providing them.Have a blessed day!Original review:I now see why there are one star reviews. Set an appointment two weeks an advance, took my morning off to bring her in. Starts off with a rude comment about her size, when I clearly responded on the phone saying she was 50 pounds, which she is. Apon arrival they act uppity when they release her into an open room with other barking dogs without her harness and act surprised and rude when she's excited.. um yeah girl, its dog in a sea of other barking dogs... They simply said they would have "no part in it". Complete waste of time. I HIGHLY recommend not calling this place at all. I have a trained adult dog that got excited and they just.. didnt even give her more than one minute. I can't understand the mindset.

Osa absolutely loves this place. Staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and kind to her. She goes both for daycare and grooming. We have been customers for about three years now, and she has never once gotten sick or injured. I could not have survived nursing school and a nursing schedule without a place like this. It is a great service they provide, to allow professional folks who work during the day to still keep their pets. I am grateful!

The front desk person does not represent the business well. I arrived a couple of minutes early and she saw me as the door was open and I said hello. I then tried to give my older standard schnauzer the chance to pee and she then said I was late and that I had lost my place on the schedule. She did the same thing to my husband on another occasion. Today she cancelled our appointment as he was running a few minutes late-we live 35 minutes away, he had to get our grandson ready to go with him , etc.She should not be at the front of the business and this attitude poisons everyone. Maybe it comes from the owner-whom I have never met.

Worst service ever!I have a small yorki mix and they said it would take an hour which would cost $70. We came back and they were still grooming him, the staff is so unorganized, I saw the older lady screaming at my day and at the workers, they tell me that it was going to take 30 more minutes, so we have to wait and when they bring my dog outside she says that my dog had bit the groomer, we’ve never had issues before of this kind and the aggressive attitude the old lady had didn’t help much. They did a poor grooming job for $70 dollars and they have the worst staff, definitely will not be coming back and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!

This was literally the quickest and least painful cat grooming experience ive ever had. Everywhere else ive taken my cat insisted on bathing her and ive had to leave her there for hours . I brought my girl in to Wags for a lioncut to take care of her mats and we were in and out of there in less then 20 minutes. She looks so stinking cute and is prancing around the house like she knows it!Highly reccomend this place..its so hard to find someone to groom cats!! We will be back for sure!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

I will never again bring my dog to Wags/Klippers, and here's why.I have an 11 week old Tibetan Mastiff puppy (30lbs). Because of his size, the small dog day care was recommended by one of their employees. I dropped him off for the day and returned around 4:30. There was an initial misunderstanding about what time they closed (I though each day at 7, but they do close at 4 on Saturday. My mistake and the owner was great about it.)As this same owner goes to collect the puppy, she grabs him by his collar and he reacts negatively and starts crying loudly. She continues to tug on his collar, dragging him at this point, then grabbing the back of his neck very hard causing him to literally freak out. She loses her cool and grabs him even MORE forcefully, of course freaking him out more. This all occurs in 15-20 seconds. I loudly ask her to stop and she snaps at me that "dogs need to be pulled around by their collar to be controlled! When they are larger we need to control them." And the kicker, "We've been doing this all day and we do it to all dogs".I understand a dog needs to be under the control of the workers, but we're talking about a 11 week old puppy here who isn't through his training yet. She treated him like a sack of groceries. She then denied grabbing his neck, and reconsiders that position when I remind her that I just watched her do it! I'm not sure which I'm more blown away by, her lying, or her acceptance that causing visible trauma to a dog and losing your cool is ok.This treatment to our pets is absolutely acceptable. There were two people dropping some flyers off and they looked as disgusted as I felt.

Stevie and Sue have always been wonderful. Their knowledge and experience with dogs is amongst some the highest I've ever ran across and I have been around the animals most of my life. Having owned show dogs and just my spoiled babies, there are few I would trust with my dogs and they are defintely in the group that I trust. They are amazing at what they do and are always VERY kind. I HIGHLY recommend.

I have been taken my dog Rikki for the past two years to this grooming place. My boss originally started going there with his three dogs, and he had a bad experience like a year ago with them, so he took his dogs somewhere else. I decided to keep taking Rikki, until today, 10/14/2020. I have always made Rikki an appointment at 1:30 for many reasons: 1. I take my lunch from 12-1 everyday, so I go pick him up and I know I will arrive around 1:20 to the store and 2. It's easier for me to do it right after 1pm because I know someone from my family can pick him up at 2:30. So I get there today around 1:15 and I wait outside until a little after 1:25 because I know they don't like it when people get there earlier than their scheduled appointment. I know for a fact about this, because there was an incident when I picked up Rikki at 2:30 and a gentleman went in as I was going in myself and he got scolded by the owner Ms. Sue, to wait outside because he was early for his appointment, they exchanged words back and forth and decided he did not want to deal with it and told the owner he would be looking for a new grooming service. Long story short I get there and the owner Ms. Sue tells me I am late, that I was supposed to be there at one, and I say NO Way, I always bring Rikki at 1:30 and she basically said I was lying and so did her employee. I was so mad, I have learned to say I am sorry If I know I did wrong or I am wrong, but I never told the owner 1pm. Anyways they turned me away so I had to drive back home 20 minutes and drop him off so I could go back to work. I even have proof in my calendar of the times I have taken him and they are all set a 1:30 and one entry was at 2:30. Look for another grooming service if you are looking for one.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had an appointment but the staff was late returning to the shop after a meeting. One of my puppies was grabbed out of my hands and I must say that I didn't like the way my puppy was handled. When I picked up my puppies I was charged more than the price quoted over the phone. The shop honored the quoted price but it was obvious that the lady charging me was annoyed that I questioned the price difference. Both of my puppies had extremely uneven hair around their ears and one puppy had a large cut.

As an owner of a Maltese and poodles, I have close to 15 years communicating with groomers in both NY and California. And the owner and staff at this establishment were passive- aggressive, abrasive and condescending. Horrible customer service. I would not trust such emotionally unstable people with my dogs for grooming.

owner was unprofessional and condescending. I walked in on her screaming at the dogs in her care and then proceeded to talk rudely about the client in front of me after she left. after reading other reviews this seems like the usual experience here. I won’t be returning and don’t think loudly screeching at other peoples animals is acceptable.

Stevie and her partner are very rude. I’ve known her for 9yrs b 4 Wags and she has treated me unprofessional and tonight was the last draw. She didn’t even trim the cats right and complained as one had a few tiny mats on her belly. 80.00 later. It’s not the money. She seems to get worse with every visit. Her and her partner

Yesterday we went to El Chile Toreado to grab some tacos. (Yum!) They are located on Early Street across the from Tiny's and I highly recommend them. We parked in the very large parking lot by Tiny's. As we (my mother and I) walked over to the food van, we were suddenly verbally accosted by the owner, maybe an employee of Wags Dog Groomers. This lady was insanely upset because of where we parked. She yelled, huff and puffed, yet we were nowhere near her small business, just in the same large lot. As I looked around I noticed the lot was almost empty with maybe 15 parked cars at other stores in the area. My guess is that the lot holds over 75 vehicles. Yet, this lady was upset that customers from El Chile Toreado were parking in the huge lot. Her anger was extreme. I looked over to Wags, in-front of the business there were about 5 open spaces. Yet, this woman was so unkind and selfish about the parking. The El Chile Toreado customers were not disturbing the business or any of the stores in the market. Yet this woman was going crazy. I could not understand, the anger and bad energy she was throwing at random people. Ok, if the lot was tiny and people were taking spaces away from her business, I get it. But again, the lot is huge. I have never seen this lot full. Why can't people just be nice and help each other out. Seeing her craziness, I would never trust her with my fur babies. I hate to say it, but I did wonder, was this woman just a racist...

I have been a client of Wags for 13 years, ever since I moved to Santa Fe. I have taken my dogs to Wags and never had any complaints. I trust them thoroughly. I am single and retired and my dogs are my family. So it is important to have trust with Wags.

Best experience I've found in seven years. In and out in an hour, pup isn't shaking and scared to go back like the other groomers I took him to, and I can get in quickly. I'll keep taking my little guy Tank to them as long as they're around.

Most of the dogs they have are there own "show" dogs. any other dogs that even look or bark at theirs wrong are grabbed and thrown. I have seen them pick dogs up by there collar and throw them across the room for messing with their show dogs. The owners say they are trainers but i highly doubt that. They are really sweet and nice in the first initial but in the back of the show they are nasty and have no understanding of dog behavior.I will never allow a dog to stay in their care.
