The history & wonder of Fox Cave is gone. If you are an herbal remedy fan, then you might like it. No one under age 21 is allowed in. It's a very unique place. It's like a distant country cousin of Meow Wolf-themed places. I understand turning a buck, but don't diss history.

We stumbled on this spot by complete accident while driving to Roswell. I am a huge pot head and I just so happen to be a cave tour guide, so seeing the sign for this place checked every box!Look, I get it, this use to be a “historical”, Wild West gimmick place. I’m sure some people have very dear memories of this place, but I’m sorry to shatter your childhood but Billy the kid hung out all over the place. I promise you can find another Wild West gimmick to take Christmas card photos at.This place is a wonderland for the soul, and completely worth taking time out of your drive/life/vacation to visit. We accidentally spend 3 hours here, and every moment was pure bliss. I am very excited to see what this place grows into. They seem to have big plans moving forward onto the future.

Traveling through from Austin to Albuquerque, husband and I see the sign and we are like hell yes we are stopping. Weed World is more than a roadside attraction. It’s weird and funky and quirky and there is THC! The smoke lounge is so freaking cool. Say hi to Clint, he’s a good dude that can share some very cool history.

This is a great nod to an old time roadside attractions. The cave is really neat. It houses the back part of the store. There is a petting zoo area. It looked like it had mostly goats and chickens. You can feed and pet them for a small fee. We went through the 2 room museum. It was an eclectic collection of stuff. One room was related to Billy the Kid. The other was movie star memorabilia. If you need to get out and stretch your legs for a bit then this is your place.

I didnt know what to expect. I was just really excited to finally visit it. The employees were very nice and welcoming. The store had so many awesome crystals and other miscellaneous items. I bought me a corn husk pipe!! And a wooden sword. They also have jewelry. And I didnt learn this till after but apparently you can mine for your own crystals!! I missed it but next time I go I'm checking that out first. And the museum was awesome too. Overall. Amazing. In my opinion.

Very awesome. Took my boys on Labor Day. They had a blast feeding the animals, going thru the museums and the store. We also did the gem buckets and come on, what kid doesn't love playing in water and dirt finding "diamonds" and teeth for necklaces. 😂.

Our sons 21st birthday, took him to the fox cave/ weed world. We had a blast, will definitively go back, atmosphere was great. Thank all of you that work there for making it a great day for our son.

One of a kind stop. Used to be a cave years ago, even had an amphitheatre where Buck Owens played. Unfortunately, it had to be filled in due to structural issues. Now sells rocks, jewelry, mineral and some items not seen at every tourist stop. For example skeleton, soil buckets to mine for gems, petting zoo, aliens.... and the prices were reasonable. A fun photo stop with a few options. Friendly staff.if the hate is close d during hours they are supposed to be open, just give them a call. We did. The gate had mind of it's own. Staff answered and came right out to key us in.Historical stop. See it while you can.

Love this place. If your interested in cool rocks and geodes this is the place to go. They also have an assortment of jewelry and fossils. But let's also tell you about the petting zoo. They have all the baby animals my kids love 💘 this place as much as i do.

Is it a tourist trap? Yes. Is it still cool? Yes! The cave itself is a gift shop/ rock shop. The gem mining is actually panning but really cool. We have panned in other places and it has always been a tiny bucket with tiny gems but not here. For about the same price we got a good sized bucket with a lot of good sized gems, gems much like the ones they sell all over Ruidoso in the gift shops for several dollars each.The gentleman who helped us was great with the kids and entertained the husband with stories of how the shop came to be and of the Ruidoso area, including Billy the Kid lore.The little museums were interesting too. Of course, the alien room was cheesy. That's the point I think. The dinosaur room was also a little cheesy but the kids really enjoyed it. I, for one, enjoyed the Billy the Kid exhibit.We purchased a groupon for 4 large buckets and admission so the price was right also.

Loved it, but I REALLY wish they would have had prices on all the gorgeous raw agets out front! Beautiful sleeping dogs that really caugh tus by surprise, but one growled at grandkids when they didn't realize they were there. 😬

Every time I come to Ruidoso, I visit Fox Cave. They have the best selection of rocks and gems and jewelry, and prices that are lower than any other shop in Lincoln County, in my opinion. I will continue to shop and buy there when I travel to Ruidoso.

Interesting place to stop at the museum. Museum has history artifacts. They have fossils real and replicas. Plenty of crystals and minerals of all sorts. It's in an actual cave that's millions of years but the store was made in the 50's.

Fox cave was a great roadside place to stop! They have a neat store made into the side of a mountain! They offer a lot of cool stuff to check out in their store, lots of cool photo opportunities, and even offer a few different museum buildings with different topics! Well worth the stop for sure!!

A friend told me that this place had various stores built into a cave. Well it's a rock / gem store in a cave, with a bunch of weird statues of dinosaurs and aliens.If you're into rocks and hippie aliens then this is the place for you to hang out.I was a little disappointed that their geode cutter was broken otherwise I would have bought a few .

It's a nice place to stop and let the kids take a look at the exhibits. For $10 you can buy a bucket of rocks that the kids can wash in a little water canal and remove the dirt and keep the nice rocks that are included. It was a fun little experience, don't expect the exhibits to be the Hall of Presidents, some interesting stuff to see there. The alien 👽 exhibit was a little scary for my kids though

I love all the options here of rocks, stones and crystals but the employees don't have a great way of ringing up your bill. So checkout took forever because they had to scavenger hunt what you were buying to get the price. 10 out of 10 recommend the petting zoo though. The animals are so cute and friendly and the staff was just as amazing. I got to hold a baby goat like a baby!!!

Guys if you happen to be over by Ruidoso you have to stop in at fox cave Arnold and Clint got it goin on trust me You can enjoy the smoke lounge where Billy the Kid and Geronimo hid out during their time around there It's truly phenomenal must see I'll be back in a week or so Lemme know how Formosa Farms can tighten yall up
