Great breakfast Mexican American dishes. Historic building constructed for the old railroad. They offer dishes smothered w green chili.... very flavorful. Large portions at a fair price. Easily the best restaurant near Portal. Sorry I didn't try it earlier during my stay in Cave Creek. At the time of my visit they were not selling groceries, having stopped during COVID. Do go for the restaurant!!

The new menu (month or two into it) is amazing. I'm usually there for breakfast on fridays. I try something different most times, and it never disappoints!All the staff there is always friendly, kind and helpful.Many folks I know go for lunch and dinner too, always pleased.

We stopped on our way from Portal to Douglas and got breakfast to go. Delicious breakfast sandwiches, nothing fancy, just done right. The cook knows how to cook. We will stop again. Now I want to try their other menu items.

Nice little Cafe and grocery. Their breakfast menu was small but had something for each of us. Omelets and burritos were delicious! Food was cooked to perfection and was at our table quickly. The green chile was perfectly spicy. I loved their wheat toast. It was thick cut bread and yummy! Very well-priced and very nice staff! I will stop there again!

Very basic, as you'd expect from such a small community, but it's got all you need: hot coffee, a nice breakfast menu and friendly people. Can't wait to get back this way again.

THE BEST for breakfast, plus lunch fare. Frankie's red sauce is to die for so ask for it on everything. Best place for Mexican food and big tasty burgers. Daily specials are on chalkboard outside. Closed Sunday. Open for breakfast and lunch only. Credit and debit, cash.

Portal AZ and Rodeo NM are two stateline villages affected by heavy tourism... thus prices of food and groceries are sky high. $10 for a loaf of bread. $11 for a burger. Rodeo Grocery has the best grill and nicest staff of the 3 places to choose from in this area.

Rodeo, NM is so small if you yawn while driving you might miss it, but don't.This tiny town has some of the friendliest, helpful folks. I had a flat tire and no cell service. The Rodeo G&C let me use their phone and brought it out for me when my family members called back while someone was helping me change my tire.My parents live in the area and say this little Cafe has the best green chili burger and breakfast burritos.I'm tremendously grateful for their help in my time of roadside distress!

Ate breakfast at the cafe. Great breakfast burrito, substituted meat for hash browns. Charlie was always on hand to refill our coffee. Cafe renovations really looked nice.

This place was awesome! Staff was great food was awesome and well priced too. We spent a little extra time there just BSing with the family that owns it. Will definitely be back.

We enjoy stopping in at the store to pick up some essential items and treat ourselves to an ice cream treat. Try to make our trip to town to pickup our mail, and take care of business.

The Rodeo Grocery and Cafe serves good food at a good price and is a fun friendly place for lunch. (The comments below most likely pertain to the Rodeo Tavern -- a different establishment. The Rodeo Grocery and Cafe has no bar.)
