My husband and I had a very small intimate wedding here in 2021 and it was absolutely incredible. It was everything we could have ever imagined for our special day. The desert scenery was so beautiful and all the wildlife that passed through during our stay was INCREDIBLE. My family talks about it often and we definitely want to come back someday! The house and amenities were excellent. Beautiful scenery and dark sky for stargazing. Telescopes are available on site for bird watching - Horned Owl, Hawks and barn sparrows. Our family had an awesome visit and will return again if in the area.Note: If traveling/staying with small breed dog, maybe think about shoes to protect their feet. Walking on concrete and sharp rocks for days tore our pups feet up.

Absolutely gorgeous stay! 10 bedrooms, 6.5 baths with a whopping 18 total beds. It was huge, very adequately housed our party of 9. It is smack dab in the middle of nowhere so the privacy is abundant. Being in the middle of nowhere, the wildlife is thriving. We heard coyotes, saw a big bullsnake with its babies and a handful of scorpions. About a five hour drive from Albuquerque, it was an amazing experience. The pool was heated and no worries about hottub overcrowding because there's two. Would love to come stay at the Painted Pony again!

This was a wonderful place to stay!! My four siblings, our spouses and most of our kids and their spouses were there, so it was a group of 21 and there was plenty of room. The houses are lovely, the grounds are great, my 9 year old son loved seeing all the animals, the birdsong was beautiful, we all spent hours at the pool/hot tub, the night sky is awe-inspiring. Just a fantastic week together. We drove to near by hills and towns as well, but were happy to have relaxing together time in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend this!!

I was here for a 3 day family reunion/birthday party at the end of December. The resort and staff was great! The rooms were very comfortable and the layout of the resort was perfect for what we used it for. I would highly suggest the Painted Pony Resort for any large event. It has plenty of space and a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Stayed here for a family reunion. 20 plus people and had a great time. Hung out in the pool and hot tub. Super remote location so be prepared for that but everything was clean and in good working order. If you are looking to experience remote NM in comfort, look no further.

Main house is a beautiful lodge that sleeps over 10 persons. In addition to the pool and hot tub, there's table tennis and pool tables in the garage. Lots of relaxing outdoor seating. If needed, there are 2 private casitas also available on the property.
