As with any ski town, bring your own groceries. If you do need anything else, you should be fine with Der Markt. It was well-stocked.I needed red pepper flakes, parsley, olive oil, and two packages of frozen garlic bread. I got all of these at Der Markt for around $17.Some other notes:- The store does smell like oil. It’s not overpowering.- Some produce (parsley) is placed in individual ziploc bags. It was still good quality, just a little strange.- Some of the meat looked a little suspicious, and was close to its expiration. Your call on what you buy.All in all, it’s a well-stocked small grocery. I cook a lot and I care about my ingredients, and I was distraught when I forgot some critical components. I was prepared to go to Questa or even Taos, but it turned out everything I needed was at Der Markt.

There was a strong odor of oil pervading the store. Frying food without any type of ventilation. My clothes smelled foul after shopping here. If that problem were fixed, it wouldn't be a bad little store.

Cute store, proud of their prices and over half of the staff is RUDE as hell. The ginger teddy bear acted as if I relieved myself in his cornflakes when I asked about a bathroom. Thanks for the courtesy, bucko. Not many other choices.

You will pay more here but it is the only grocery store in Red River. Well stocked and always seems to have what I need

I had to buy DayQuil and it was $18 with tax. Their water is over $9 and their LaCroix is over $6. They are ripping people off. Definitely would not recommend this place. I’d recommend shopping before coming here.

Dont be fooled by the good reviews! My guess is they were written by friends and family member members of the owners or employees. Be warned, this is the only "grocery" store in town and they charge DOUBLE for some items. i.e cases of water and orange juice. they have a very limited selection of high priced meets that sit on the shelve longer than they should. Also many items aren't priced and you either have to find an employee to ask the price who may or may not be able to tell you or wait until you get to the register to see the cost. Bottom line, bring your own food to town! Avoid this place, there is a reason it's nickname is "Der MARKUP"!

We've been going to Der Markt during Red River visits for years and years. Overall, it's a great store to have in a vacation/tourist town because they have a ton of selection for a small town, and I'm amazed by how much variety they've got in a fairly small space. As expected, the prices are high since 1) it's a tourist town, and 2) they're the only grocery store in town, but that's to be expected. On our recent trip last week, we went into the store almost daily for random things we needed during the trip. During one stop into Der Markt, my wife had a really bad experience with an extremely rude employee at the checkout counter that embarrassed her and yelled at her for not using the little grocery dividers that you put on the conveyers. His behavior was totally uncalled for and out of line.

Friendly staff. Easy to navigate and find everything you need. Prices vary... some things are pricey but mostly fair. The liquor area has a lot of gems that are hard to find if you can get past the sticker shock.

Been going to This place for 7 years now. It's a good place. Pretty much have all the groceries you need plus extra stuff...The prices are high due to no other store for competitive pricing. But, I do consider it a Tourist/Vacation town so that explains the pricing also. I'm going to give a 4 rating due to some prices are close to double..an some prices are fair

We purchased several items through the week we stayed in Red River. The orange juice was spoiled but not out of date and the same happened with the very expensive sausage. Made us sick. It was not out of date but it was spoiled. There must be a temperature issue.

The whisky was marked up twice what normal MSRP is. I would never shop at a place that tries to squeeze customers like this.

I give Der Markt 5 stars because I hit them up everytime I am in Red River and they always have everything I need. They are also the only grocery store in town! They have this really cool thing where they give you $2 bills with your change if you pay cash. Very cool! Be ready to pay for the convenience though!

Red River is a great family friendly little town. I stopped in to pick up a few extra things for our stay. Store has a decent selection with higher prices, but expected since it's a tourist town. I wasn't however, ready for the loud, colorful foul language I heard from the cashier upon entering ther store, and continued for the 10 minutes or so while I shopped. I'm glad my kids weren't with me.

Loved this store, never seen articles stacked as neatly on the shelves as these wow! Nice variety....You can select healthy or go rogue...They even have rotisserie chicken and luscious looking pork spare ribs ta go of drool quality. I really liked the tortilla selections...It all made me want to cook in our condo...but not enough time this time out.

Workers don't pay attention and are rude. Groceries are marked up at LEAST 5x their value. ($9 for a box of Cheerios). If they make a mistake, they will NOT rectify it, instead, management will blame YOU instead of their workers.

A kitch little store in a cool little town in the mountains. I love Red River and have remembered this place since I came here when I was much younger. Prices are about what you'd expect and the selection is much more than what you would expect for a town of roughly 500. The people working here are friendly, the place is kept clean, and they stay calm even with all the craziness going on.

We weren't sure if we could get food for the week from here. We will next year. They have all types of food that could easily feed the family the entire week we stay. They have plenty of whole meats, vegetables, and staples. We also so saw some frozen meals that would work as well. Next year we're saving the space and just buying food when we get to town. They have an excellent selection of beer as well. We were pleased with the store.

Cute little store. Just the necessities but the necessities. People were nice, however a little edgy due to the business from the biker rally in town. Probably should be the best time to put the game face on to make sure people keep coming in. Im sure since its the only store in town people will go in anyway. I really did like the store.

It'd be real easy for them to suck, considering they are the only market in both directions for a while. Howeve, they cram a buuuuuunch of stuff in that tiny, terribly convenient spot. They probably have what you need, if you're wondering. They do pick up the phone if you wanna know for sure. Kind staff. Best resort town grocery store I've ever stepped into.

Known locally as the "Greedy Grocery" but this is one place you won't find locals! Texas sized prices are featured here. The people who live here can't afford to shop here. Caters to out of towners, particularly those with an oil well in the back yard. Whoever does the pricing and ordering does it very poorly. For example: $21.99 for the same item at Albertsons $14.99 so take your business elsewhere is my recommendation. No Local Discounts, but 5 types of ranch dressing! Yeehaw!!! Shopping here makes me feel like a bad person :(

Produce selection is never great. Managers are very welcoming and friendly. Prices are what you would expect from a small town tourist store. I would rather travel the 13 miles to Questa and get what you need at the Family Dollar.
