Been here for ski season for 5 years in a row! Rooms are perfect for a family of 4, silverware, cups, plates, pots and pans, covered. Ski lift in your back yard, check. Hot Tub, got that too. If you ever need anything they are always around to help you out. AWESOME!Rooms: Both the rooms with one Queen and two fools are big enough to hold all your gear and family. Small but cozy.Nearby activities: The town bus will pick u up and take you anywhere in townWalkability: Red River is a small town and Copper is pretty much in the middle of everything, so everything's a 5-minute walk.

Great place to stay!! Right at the river and a few steps from one of the lifts. Deers will randomly show up and stay close to you. Quiet and peaceful getaway!!! This was a wonderful place to stay!! We stayed in August, and they had hummingbird feeders, up so the birds were fighting over the feeders. We could set right outside our room and watch them buzzing around. Feed the deer back behind the rooms along the creek. (They love cheese nips) Even put my feet in the cold creek water!! The shower had really great water pressure!! Super quiet rooms to sleep in!! Sad part....we had to leave!!!Walkability: Walking distance to all the shops. Right on the creek so you can fish, take walks sit by the fire pit, hike the trail feed the deer in the afternoon. Great place for the kids!! We did not try the hot tub. I would definitely stay here again!! The worst part.. we had to leave!!!

Wow what a great experience, we had a blast. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the local attractions. I called the manager about a TV issue around 7 pm and he was there in about a minute to fix the problem.Having a ski lift right in the "backyard" is very convenient. Less time traveling and more time for the slopes. Get a little hungry... ski right back down to the hotel for lunch in your room, it sure saves paying the huge mark up at the restaurant.

The staff was very accommodating, room was clean,....however, may need to update the mattresses. Very quiet, Just the way I like it.My husband & I have stayed at this location for several years. Love the location, can park our truck and walk everywhere. It's near a bubbling brook, wild deer will come down from the mountain to feed. (they like Ritz crackers) The views are spectacular.The hotel room comes with a refrigerator and microwave, which is handy as some of the eating establishments close early. There is a grocery store nearby. It is a quick walk to Bull Of The Woods Saloon....Very nice & pleasant place to stay, I recommend it. We will continue to come here annually at our usual time. Thank You!

If there were six or ten stars - the Copper King Lodge gets my highest rating. The place was clean and the amenities nice - but it’s who works here and runs it that makes it worthy of repeated visits. My son left his wallet accidentally with all his money and driver’s license inside. The day after we got home they called and said they found it. They returned it by mail promptly - contents fully intact. THAT is the kind of place who’s roof I want to be under.

Best lodge I’ve stayed in, in Red River. Wonderful clean, cozy room with everything you need for a nice extended stay. I stayed for three weeks skiing there and the room was quiet, clean & well maintained. Plenty of hot water for a long shower , nice thick bath towels with fresh linens every week. No daily maid service because of COVID, but for anything I needed the response was quick and hassle free. Just don’t park directly under the roof cause chunks of ice can fall. One big chunk took out my front bug shield on my truck, but it was old anyway. These guys are great inn keepers!

Run down and dirty…We’ve been staying at this same place for like 13 years. We always get the same 3 bedroom condo. I used to recommend it because the location is great, but not anymore. In all the years we’ve been coming, they have never updated anything. It’s grimey and dirty. The couch cushions and carpet need to be replaced BADLY as well as the rest of the cabin needs to be updated and refreshed with new bedding and curtains. Again, location is great. You can walk to the lift, but ewww.

We had a great time at this lodge. It is located very close to all the action downtown in Red River. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean. It would have been even better if there would have been more comfy chairs for relaxing and watching TV (ours only had a table and 2 chairs that got hard after a while). The bed slept great and the sheets were very nice (a big deal for me). We loved the access to the creek and the internet worked great. We also loved having our very own marked parking spot...that helped greatly because we didn't feel the need to get back to the room sooner for parking spots. We were also blessed to look out our window and see a wild deer walking down the street "Northern Exposure Style" . I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms are excellent and prices low for what you get. The balcony is right up against the river and one of the old ski lifts is almost arm's length away. We even had deer walk right up to the back patios. The views are amazing and the location is perfect, no more than a mile walk to anything in town but also off the main road so nice and quiet. Get one of the suites, highly recommended!

Plenty of open space, clean, warm, nice! The only Lodge that literally has a chairlift in the backyard. There is a assigned parking so you get to park right in front of your front door. It has a dishwasher, full size refrigerator and a beautiful rock bench in front of the fireplace so you can sit and get warm! Furthermore there is a propane fire that is always burning in the back with seats around it which makes for a great family time. And there's a hot tub so don't forget your bathing suit! I didn't get pictures this time but I guarantee you I'm going back so I'll get some next time!

This place was great. But forewarning take your own towels if you just dyed your hair. They have signs that say they'll charge if you stain them and I was so paranoid about that. Its definitely pricey and they have a 3 night minimum but the short walk to the river makes it worth it. There are deer that come right up to you. Really pretty place.

Stayed here a few months ago while on a Red River trout fly fishing adventure. The place is charming and affordable with a very pleasant staff. A wonderful place to settle down in after a day of fishing. Don't forget to get a fishing license before you head out. I'm from Tucson, Arizona and need a break from the desert once in awhile, here's the place to do it.

Red River is a small town with quite a few options to stay for the night or more. Copper King Lodge was my choice and have to say it was a great night. The man at the front desk was extremely kind and thoughtful!! The location is very nice as well being that you the Red River in your back yard and a lot of hiking trails as well!! I recommend anyone visiting the town to stay a night and surely enjoy yourself!

We loved this place! I took my family here for Easter weekend and had such a great time! The cabins are authentic while giving a nice touch of some of the comforts of home, such as a T.V. in the rooms and Wi-Fi. You can enjoy the view of the mountain and ski slope from your bedroom. They lit a fire every night for the kids to make Smores or just enjoy the evening. It was really nice and we definitely intend to return.

Great place to stay. We picked Copper King Lodge due to it's location to the mountain. We were able to take the lift from the lodge to the top of the mountain. The cabin was perfect for our family.We also were able to receive a discount on our lift tickets. Copper King Lodge is a platinum partner with the Ski Office and our kids skied for free with the purchase of our tickets.The staff at Copper King Lodge was also very helpful. They had suggested my different local places to eat and shop.We will return and would recommend Copper King Lodge to anyone.

Buyer beware!We booked this venue 2 years ago and left a substantial deposit for the BBQ/Music festival for August 2020. The festival was canceled due to Covid. We let the deposit ride. This year we had a death in the family and cannot attend the festival this year.When contacting Copper Creek this year, they advised that they could NOT refund us anything as they don’t honor cancellations past one year. They never called or advised us of these terms, and simply plan to screw us out of the entire deposit!!!This organization is unethical and deceptive. I see we from the reviews that we aren’t the only ones they have screwed.DON’T BOOK this establishment!!!

We've stayed here 2 times. We booked our third trip well in advance for Jan. 2017. We cancelled our trip in November 2016. We were told they would refund a percentage of the deposit IF THEY RE BOOKED OUR ROOM. Guess what?!! We received a check in the mail! Honest people and a great place to stay!!!

My son and I stayed here last week (12/15/19) and considering the cost and location, we could not have asked for more. We chose to stay in the 2 bed motel room, and it offered everything we needed. Rustic style room fit the style of Red River. Thanks for the accommodations!

Buyer Beware!! Copper King Lodge partakes in BAD Business practices!!If you are looking to stay in Red River, NM, think twice before booking a room at this lodge. I made a reservation for the Required 3-night stay and was not able to keep the reservation due to family medical issues. I canceled within the required timeframe and was told by the office manager if they were not able to rent the room, I would lose my deposit. If they did rent the room I would be charged 20% of the deposit and the remainder refunded. I called the morning of check in to see if the room had been rented, and was told it was not. I called again later that afternoon and was told once again the room had not been rented. I asked about the possibility of coming up the following day for the remaining two nights and was then told Oh.... the room has been rented for Friday and Saturday night. I asked about the possibility of being refunded the difference of one-night stay and the deposit. To which I was told Oh No we won't be able to refund any of the deposit because we didn't fill the whole reservation. So the cost of this room for one night was $144.00 and they kept ALL of the $288.00 deposit because they couldn't rent the room for the One night. I asked why I was held to a 3-night minimum but the new renters were not, and allowed to rent for only 2 nights! I told the clerk I felt this was a very bad business practice to keep $288.00 because they lost out on one night rental of $144.00. The clerk stated there was nothing she could do. Later that day I received an email to explain that the additional funds were applied to cleaning and the time it took to cancel the reservation. I wonder what additional cleaning was needed since they supposedly never rented the room!! My parents lived in Red River when I was born and ran Three Canyon Camp. They would have never thought of cheating their customers and bent over backward to accommodate them in any way they could. The times have certainly changed! I do know there are good business owners in Red River, I don't believe Copper King is one of them!

Stay in a 2 room suite with a shared 'jack and jill' accesible full bathroom. I cannot say enough that this place is great for a small town ski lodge establisment.The suite had all the bedroom and kitchen necessities. It was very clean, staff was friendly and its in a beautiful mountain setting. Walking distance to a chair lift for skiing, and several nice restaurants and adult beverage estblishments that are close by.It may be difficult to get a room during popular seasonal events here but it's worth the effort to try. I would stay here again. Wifi access is included and it had good strength and coverage. Did not turn on the tv but there is one in the room. A hot tub, bbq grills and fire pit are available for use.

Absolutely love this place! Awesome views with deer crossing every evening. About 50 feet away from the copper chair lift...and right on the river for the best wildlife experience. Such a great place with beautiful facilities.
