Nice warm and cozy little place in a great spot for skiing. You can walk to the platinum lift and to the brewery and other great spots nearby.Great coffee in the lobby all day long and cook to order breakfast in the mornings. This place has just about all you need for a little get away including a hot tub to unwind after a day of skiing. The rooms come nicely equipped with a fridge and microwave which is really handy. Of course the views are great being right by the river and relaxing to listen to the water going by and watching the ducks.Mike is a great manager who has that personal touch to make you feel like you are visiting a friend from years ago. Can't wait unti our next trip back.

I would give more stars if I could. This hotel and town in general are so magical. Without knowing, we ended up with a room looking at the beautiful river and could see the slopes as well. Plus, the room ended up being a great deal and we expected to pay more than we did. Hospitality that made us feel so welcomed. And my favorite part was definitely the fresh breakfast, sometimes it’s hard to find a hotel that has a full breakfast, and we were so incredibly amazed by the quality of the yummy food and coffee. Absolutely everything is walking distance, the grocery store, any restaurant, a little park area, hiking, the slopes and of course the views in any direction are breathtaking. I will definitely be back!Rooms: The rooms have thick doors with multiple locks, a heater that works tremendously, several storage options, comfortable beds, a large bathroom with a heater so you don’t freeze getting out of the shower. Great water pressure, more than enough hot water for luxurious showers. A large Roku tv with a clean remote. A breathtaking location.Nearby activities: Hiking, fishing, shopping, skiing, snowboarding, bumper car track, arcade.Safety: Everyone seems to know each other in this town, making it feel very much like a dreamy Hallmark film. I lost my wallet in a shop and it quickly got returned to the sheriffs office so I imagine there aren’t many crimes. The hotel room doors automatically lock, plus have two additional locks on them for extra security. The windows also have privacy curtains.Walkability: The room is very spacious and outside The sidewalks stay clean and clear of ice so it is very safe, everything is a short and beautifully scenic walk away.Food & drinks: The hotel offers a cozy complementary breakfast, there is a grocery store, lovely restaurants, a brewery and wineries, with tons of activities all in walking distance.Noteworthy details: The beds were very comfortable, large Roku tv, heater in the bathroom, out of this world hospitality. The area is dreamy and makes you want to drop everything and move there immediately.

This is a spectacular place to stay if you're visiting Red River! I just can't say enough about how cool and rare this lodge is. The moment we drove into town we got the feeling of entering a mountain town from decades past. There are not many of these gems left in the west. The population is just over 500 and the closeness of the community is very apparent. The lodge is located on the stream and steps away from the local ski lift. Right?!? We visited in the fall, and unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of that awesome perk, but we will go back in the winter so we can enjoy visiting during ski season. The employees at this Best Western make breakfast for you every morning......to order! Who does that now days? We traveled with our dog and the room was conveniently located stream side, on the lower level, which made it super easy to take her out in the morning. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. This is an older property, so the walls are a bit thin, but that wasn't a deal breaker. The amenities and the atmosphere far outweigh the occasional sound from the room next door. There are tables and chairs on the deck outside of each room, so we were able to sit and enjoy the mountain air. They also have tables, chairs, and a fire pit stocked with wood near the stream, just steps away. The restaurants in town are all close enough to walk to and most have outdoor seating, so we were able to take our dog to dinner with us. I can't wait to return to Red River to stay at the Rivers Edge!

Stayed here for 3 nights, most expensive Best Western we’ve stayed in for a very long time, entire stay was over $720!I fully understand this is a resort town but this place is WAY OVERPRICED for what you get! This is a very OLD hotel with very minor renovations to make it somewhat modern. We got a disabled room (because my husband is a DIB veteran) which in truth was NOT a disabled room all. It no way does it meets ADA rules. If you’re in a wheelchair you wouldn’t be able to use the closet at all as the door opens the wrong way and is too close to a night stand to use it, if you’re able bodied you have to straddle the night stand to put your clothes in there. Taking a shower would be a challenge too with only a tub, and portable shower chair, and a couple of grab bars. Getting in would be difficult. No hand held shower available. , It is not right either that there are only two handicapped parking spots not near the disable rooms and truthfully the hotel has not near enough parking at this location for ALL the guests, we had to park across the street and walk to the hotel, really great when you’re disabled, not!The very worst thing was the NOISE in room 107 at all times of the night and day you hear the hotel boiler, it literally was so LOUD it woke us up constantly from a dead sleep, several times over and over. It sounds like a jet engine starting up. Then it proceeds to clunk over and over. It was brutal! The bed is lumpy, saggy and hard at the same time, your feet are higher than your head! Definitely not comfortable at all. The heater/air unit was either too cold or so hot set at 72° you were sweating.Honestly we stay in Best Western Hotels all the time and this was the WORST ever! When speaking to the man who said he was the GM (Mike) who was a nice guy overall but he was full of excuses as to the hotel being old so it wasn’t his fault or his issue. If you’re taking my money it IS your issue. On its good side it was clean overall and the breakfast was good with eggs cooked to order, it’s close to the ski lift as well. Mike was not rude to speak to even though he gave the impression he didn’t really care about the problems. However those few things of okay do NOT make up for a very miserable stay. NEVER again!

Very scenic location. This place is right on the river bank and has a deck and balcony that overlook the river. There are rooms that face the river and ones that don't but either way you can enjoy the views. The rooms were very spacious with enough room to move around and fit a desk, two queen beds, a table and chairs, and a fridge/microwave. The shower was a good high power shower head. The rooms were quiet and clean. The breakfast was freshly to order eggs and bacon. The manager makes it himself - a very friendly man. Good choice for a mountain stay.

The location is right on the river. The customer service is top notch. The breakfast is made daily! How cool is that?!! It’s breakfast with mike! The rooms are clean and while they aren’t fancy by any means they are comfortable and well maintained. The little details of this hotel make all the difference. There’s a fire pit, chairs and tables outside each room, towels for bikes, they really try and go the extra mile. Also pet friendly!

This hotel is amazing! The service is top notch and it is located by the platinum ski lift. We were super impressed with the breakfast. This isn’t your run of the mill continental breakfast. It is cooked for you-eggs, bacon, and waffles. This made our morning super easy before heading to the slopes. The hot tub area is nice and the beds are comfy. We enjoyed having the lift house bar and grill next door.

We stayed two nights. The owner and staff were so friendly and readily available in the office. Location was great. Breakfast in the morning is so cute, they prepare you eggs, bacon and waffles. (Best breakfast provided by a hotel I've had in a while.) However, Our bathtub was very backed up so when we would shower it wasn't draining which was uncomfortable and dirty feeling. Also, beds are very very firm so we didn't sleep all that well. But overall it was good and somewhat what we expected. The hot tub was under remodel and unavailable. We would stay again.

Imagine a peaceful setting in the mountains with a quiet stream near the mountain community. That is what this Best Western delivers.Upon our arrival, Mike showed us our room. We were on the stream side of the building, with community tables and a great view. Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The bed linens and towels were the cleanest I've seen in a long time. Other hotels are clean. However, this hotel's quality was outstanding....AND, with no chemical smells.Lastly, the free breakfast is exceptional, too.You don't get just a free breakfast you get a breakfast made for you. There are several choices from waffles to bacon and eggs. Our breakfast was prepared by Kim.Our dogs were welcomed. The fee was reasonable.Thank you for a positive experience in today's challenging world.

Everything a hotel should be. Great water pressure, clean room big enough for two beds and a small table without being cramped, made to order eggs for breakfast, USB power plugs on nightstand, decent tv options on a big screen. The only downside in the winter is the lobby area is crowded for breakfast because it's too cold to sit on the deck. Also very cute ducks that will ask for food.

Tried booking a room and was put on hold for a while and then hung up on. Called back and not busy. The woman at the front desk than tells me that they do not honor Government rates. After a long day of work and being able to count on countless Best Westerns to "honor" this rate, I am extremely put off. The front desk staff was too set on selling the hotel for the max amount of money. We have a very large federal highway contract coming up in the area and will be ensuring that none of our vendors stay with this establishment.

Best location in Red River on the river, next to the lift house. The Best Western has practically ski in and ski out convenience in winter, easy trail access in summer, and breathtaking views all year long. With spacious, comfortable rooms, our family of five finds plenty of space to spread out and rest at the end of a typical active day outdoors. When the lobby opens, the hotel hosts cook made to order breakfast with eggs, bacon, waffles and more. Most evenings in the lobby, Mike and Courtney create a fun, friendly environment where everyone is welcome to relax and hang out for a bit. They're also more than happy to share info on the town and seasonal activities. As repeat customers, Best Western River's Edge always feels like home. We will definitely stay again and have recommended to our friends many times.

Thank you to the staff and owner for an amazing weekend. Our room was so clean, the cooked to order breakfast was delicious, beds were comfortable, and it is so nice you allow pets. Our dog had a blast coming with us, and the pet station outside by the river was convenient. We will be staying here again!

I’ve never been to Red River, I was pleasantly surprised with the great location, near skiing, restaurants, and bars. The setting looked like a ski ready hotel (not quite a ski lodge). The staff were very helpful. My room was fine. The breakfast room was odd shaped, but the made to order eggs were outstanding. I would definitely stay here again.

We didn't need an over-priced room. We chose Best Western Red River and were very happy. Lots of amenities, good breakfast, friendly staff and the hotel is right on the banks of the relaxing little babbling river that has fishing and some ducks for entertainment. Fellow travelers gather at tables and chairs and each night wood is provided for a fire. There is an outdoor hot tub that will be available after Covid restrictions are relaxed.

This is our fav hotel to stay in Red River NM. It is right on the river and walking distance to dining and shopping. It is pet friendly. In the evenings guests gather at the firepit and around the lawn chairs and tables. It is nice sitting around and conversing with people you dont know. In the mornings there is a very nice breakfast available- eggs, waffles, bacon and more. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave.

Nice place! It was fully booked but wasn't noisy at all. The best part is they have a parking lot for your trailer and parking spots for your side by side. Our room had dog hair but wasn't a deal breaker everything else was nice and clean. I will definitely be staying here again when we go back to hit more trails.
