The staff was amazing! We could not ask for better customer service. The rooms were clean, and beds were comfortable. Even though it was more of a cabin feel, which we loved, we liked that we still had room service come and replace towels and make up beds.We also loved that it was SO close to the ski lodge. 5 STARS for our experience.

Wonderful, honest employees! I lost my wedding ring here, which I did not realize until we were 3 hours away! The lodge had sent a text saying they found a valuable item and to call if we had lost something. At the time, we only thought to check for wallets! When we called, the front desk offered to mail it to our home. They carefully packaged my ring and mailed it the next morning, even calling to ask if I would like extra insurance! As for the accommodations, the room was very clean and comfortable. There are pots, pans, measuring cups, dishes and even a slow cooker! Plenty of extra pillows, blankets and towels. The hot tubs are clean and centrally located. I really appreciated the box of towels outside specifically for snow removal and cleaning equipment, floors, vehicles, etc. rather than using bath towels. The lodge is across from ski slopes, within walking distance of a grocery store, huge sporting store, snowmobile tour company and many restaurants.Walkability: Easily walk to ski lifts, snowmobiling restaurants, sporting goods shops, tourist shops and a grocery store.Noteworthy details: Probably the most reasonably priced winter resort town in the region!

My first time staying here. Our cabin was bigger than the pics made it look which was nice. They had pans in the kitchen that were actually good and you could really cook with. The crockpot was perfect for starting a meal while at the slopes and coming home to a hot meal. The beds were comfortable. The location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere. Renting our gear from right across the street, walked to the slopes, walked to meet up for the snowmobile tour, walked to buy souvenirs…Perfect location!!Rooms: Beds were comfortableNearby activities: Was able to walk to all the shops restaurants in town.

Location was great and a short distance to walk with ski boots to the slopes. We were promised house keeping would clean our rooms the 3 nights we staying but barely cleaned once. They didn’t make our beds, barley gave us enough towels and didn’t us enough toilet paper (and made sure to put a gratuity appreciated slip)….for doing nothing. The front desk associate Paula was not very welcoming or friendly AND the code they gave us to the door went out twice during our stay. We were locked out of our room until staff hours, which was INCREDIBLY frustrating

We had a great experience from the time we checked in where the staff was very welcoming and helped us navigate our stay with recommendations for wonderful eats, recreations and events. We received text notifications which were great for keeping us updated on activities happening in the local area. We will definitely be coming back to Aloine Lodge in the future!Rooms: Spacious and warm rooms with a great view of the slopes!Nearby activities: Shopping, food, and fun in a central locationWalkability: It is centrally located and close to shopping, food and skiing.

It was a great place to stay. Walking distance to everything even in the winter weather. Parking was a little tight but for the most part we were able to park right in front of our room. Don’t let this discourage you because parking is always tight in remote mountain retreats.Rooms: Nice and decorated appropriatelyNearby activities: Fun stuff to do and if your sling it is only about 1 block to the liftsWalkability: Walking distance to everything

We stayed in a 2 queen ski view. Has a great view of the face of the mountain. Clean room large closet walking distance to most of the town. Coffee shop across the street. One ski lift across the street the other is 1 block away. There is a nice park on the property that had mule deer in it everyday that would eat out of your hand and a long stretch of the red river borders as well. Could see trout swimming in the water. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would 100% stay here again.

We've stayed here two years in a row with small children. The location is great and you can walk to the main lift to go to the top or a little further to the main chalet and learning center for ski lessons (I'd recommend wearing snow boots if going to the main chalet). Very short drive if dropping and picking people up for skiing. We had a cabin/room with kitchenette that includes an oven, stovetop, crockpot, coffee pot, double sink, and full size fridge. Included coffee in filters, dish cloths, dish soap, paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner/body soap/hand soap/body lotion, linens, and towels. They have towels in bins nearby for wet snow gear and wiping up the floors.5-min easy walk to grocery store and ice cream shop. Several restaurants that are 2-6 min walks. Could walk to the park but we just drove the 3 mins (it's across the street and down a ways).Kids loved the play area with swings. There are grills and horseshoes. The grass is covered in deer poop but thankfully was frozen so didn't get on shoes.Overall, it shows it age but is great for families. The cabins are all a bit different and can be luck of the draw for which one you get. Cabin 24 is more spacious with 2 small hanging closet areas and a chest of drawers. Cabin 25 is smaller with one hanging area and no chest of drawers. I wish 25 had a chest of drawers to put our packing cubes in for clothing. Was having to always pack and unpack packing cubes when getting everyone dressed. The futon was perfect for little kids to sleep on. We brought a collapsible drying rack that helped with snow overalls and jackets. Also, brought some wire hangers to make more use of the hanging area.Front office is very helpful and nice. We plan to return.Walkability: Right on Main Street and on the road to the Red River Ski area. Within 10-min walk to ski area, groceries, restaurants, park.

This lodge is in walking distance to the Bunny Hill and Platinum Chair. Has two indoor hot tubs, across the street from a coffee shop. Our room was furnished with a full kitchenette so we could cook instead of eating out. There was even a crockpot! Stayed in the Trout room and it was very cozy! Could view the torch run on Saturday night from our balcony.

You don't want to make a reservation here. They charge you upfront for full price and then they make it impossible for you to cancel. No matter who or when you call they re route you for cancelation and then it's all touch tone to answer questions that you don't have the info to answer because they never give you the Itinerary #. And then your just disconnected. They'll tell you to call a different # during business hours but they never answer. This is the worst business I've ever dealt with. A racket!

Fantastic Hotel is super conveniently located. The style is older but so immaculately maintained that you'd think it was brand new. The staff was absolutely amazing. The only downside is the two night minimum. However, the price for service and space makes it very worth the stay. So if you're just in Red River for one night, it's not the lodging for you, but if you're staying longer, it's the perfect place for a quiet getaway.Rooms: The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The Alpine also uses a dispenser system in the shower and bathroom for your soaps, washes, shampoos, and lotions.Nearby activities: You are right by the Ski lifts and summit trail as well as multiple restaurants and activities.Walkability: Well, the location is very walkable as is the whole town.Food & drinks: They have their own restaurant which guests get a discount at, and you are nearby many of Red River's most popular eateries and a short walk to the Red River Brewing Company and all it's craft brews and liquors.

As always, the beauty and serenity found at the Alpine Lodge was just what my soul needed. Accommodations are nostalgic, yet comfortable. The location is in the heart of town so it is very easy access to dining and other activities. The best part of the experience is the grounds—lush green lawns, fire pit, benches—and the river runs through it. Best place in town to stay!

Exactly as expected!!We made our second trip back to Red River and Alpine Lodge. We travel often and usually don't go back to the same area but we loved the area last time and wanted to come back. We stayed in the Alpine Lodge again and I will have to say it was better than last time. It was super clean and extremely well maintained including the grounds. The rooms even had some updates we loved. The place is cool and reminds us of what a rustic lodge should be except it had all the amenities expected. Clean, lots of hot water, comfortable bed, coffee pot everything you would find in one of those benign hotels with the rustic twist. The owners welcomed us back like we were long lost friends! If you find yourself wanting to head to the mountains of New Mexico, don't skip Red River and the Alpine Lodge.Steve & Shari Fowler Marion Illinois
