Unique place, great food! Gave it 4 stars only because I like a little extra salt with my fries 😋 otherwise, great people, felt safe with the kids and yummy!! They even went out their way to make something special for our youngest! Would recommend if you’re passing through!

Great hamburgers and great fries! Set up in a former A&W drive -in (my guess), but wonderful food. You order right from the owner who takes pride in his food. Not as sterile (cold and impersonal) as McDonald's but makes up for that with having wonderful food! And, no, I don't like McDonald's and it's plastic food. Art of Snacks is the real thing!

I saw the posted reviews before we saw the place. Not going to lie, even with the good reviews we almost skipped it. It's a tiny little place tucked away between buildings. But some of the best places we've eaten at have been tiny little places, so we ventured for it. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Amazing burgers! My husband had the Turkey and cheddar with green chilis, he said it was really good too! They had a wide variety if sandwiches and hot dogs and they said the chili was really popular, but since we are on the road for a few days, not sure my sensitive stomach was up for that challenge.

We've stayed in Raton a dozen times and finally ventured outside of the hotel area -- boy, we we're glad we did!! This place was so delicious. The green chile stew (not pictured because we are it) is to die for. We recommend the green chile burger and the bacon cheeseburger (pictured). The fries are cut when you order them. They are the real deal. Pastries and desserts are also made in-house by the amazingly sweet owners. ❤️ We'll be back!!!

Stopped by this little gem on our way to Denver. Wow! The green chile cheeseburger combo was delicious and is worthy of being entered in the NM State Fair Green Chile Cheeseburger competition. We also had red chile cheese fries. One word...Y.U.M.M.O! We're talking home made fries and flavorful Chile with heat that was perfect for me. We will definitely be back. The owners are super friendly and prices are reasonable.

My green chile hamburger and homemade fries were phenomenal. They're clearly using high quality ingredients and making most everything on site. This isn't fast food--you'll wait a bit, and you'll be glad you did.

Wandering the route from Amarillo to Denver, your appetite grows for both physical and mental nourishment. Combining the two, The Art of Snacks provides simple examples of both, with a southwestern flair. Red and Green Chiles are stacked on a hamburger base to create a steppe to rival the local terrain. Inside the small establishment is a collection of art that can memorialize your time in a way that a delicious meal cannot. Both are recommended.

Yum! Yum! Yum! We can't wait for the drive home to stop here again. Super friendly and probably the best burger I've ever had - green chili cheeseburger. Also liked the Walking taco - sort of like a taco salad meets a Frito pie. Loved that the REAL burger was cooked outside on an open flame. See you in 5 days!

I had the smothered cheeseburger with Christmas, no bun; my husband had the collossal beef sandwich which he said definitely lived up to its billing. The owners are the only staff, so there is never a lapse in quality control. Super interesting people as well as being great cooks. This is a place not to miss. You won't be disappointed.

Had the smothered burger and fried, did it Christmas, I liked the green better than the red, BUT both were really good! Huge portions! Charbroiled flavor, not strong, and their burger buns were very good as well. Definitely worth the stop! Oh and the shaved ice was amazing as well!

Friendly people, with a great burger. It was snowing and I was driving up to Denver. They were out of tea, and I had horrible cold. After talking they hooked me up with some nice hot lemon water, with a refill for the road. Best random act of kindness this year. I will definitely remind myself to stop by if I pass through again.

The name is super cute... but our hamburger was terrible. We threw it away after a few bites which is rare for us, we do not waste food.Both burgers were burnt and our fries were undercooked and extra greasy..I'll chaulk it up to covid and hard to find quality anywhere.Service was friendly though.

Great little place. Super friendly staff and owners. I am vegetarian and they offered to make me a salad, which was very thoughtful and delicious. My husband got the roasted turkey and ate every bite. Very glad we popped in for a snack. Thank you!

This may be the only place I’ve ever been where I ordered a burger & the guy stepped outside to literally throw it on the grill and grill it to order!! This small shop is a MUST STOP if you go through Raton. They have a wide selection of items that are all made on-site & fresh to order. The fries are thin shoestring, and the cheeseburger was outstanding. We were extremely satisfied & will stop again if our travels take us back through the area.

They make their food in small batches so it tastes SUPER yummy! Best green chile cheese burger in town. No matter what you order, you will NOT be disappointed! Yum, yum, YUM! Thank you for all that yall do for our community!

This place is tough to describe but it's not a sandwich shop. We had the frito pie which was 99% frito 1% meat. The flavor was pretty good but predominantly red chili sauce. They seem to be focused on shaved ice which is the only thing the sign out front says so it's easy to drive right by the place, in fact that's what I'd recommend you do.

This is a great restaurant all around. Food was delicious and customer service was top notch. We were driving through the area on a road trip and this was a great place to stop. I called in to place my order and learned they had been feeding their community with free lunches as part of pandemic relief. Definitely glad I picked this place to grab lunch at. I will stop here again.

A little spot off the beaten path ...looks like a little old cluttered gas station or something...but definitely a diamond in the rough...don't judge the wares by the exterior. I have never had a ciabatta bread (bun) so soft before! Thick burger patty..cheese all oozing off, and green chili to compliment the flavor. Fries fresh cut and fried while you wait reminds me of a taste of the past ..before frozen processed bags took over .I would DEFINITELY get cheese fries and add chili or jalapenos..I will have to go back next time Im passing through since I missed my chance this time..its left me craving them! ** top if off with an apple fritter- fresh apple taste is one of the best I've had. Oh yeah, and friendly staff!

I got the Colossal roast beef, swiss, and green chili sandwich, and it was wonderful. It is like a party in your mouth. We stopped by on our way back from scout camp. The owners are wonderful and fun to chat with. It is close to the highway and a little tricky to find. But, it is totally worth the effort. We will definitely be back! Say hi to Amy and Pat for me if you stop by!

Super yummy food . their walking taco green chili is so good and addictive it should be against the law. Service was excellent. The place has a small town feel that's just sweet to enjoy.
