Very cool fly shop in an awesome little town. We came from out of town for our first fly fishing trip, and had a blast. Float n'Fish had all the gear needed, and plenty of cool stuff to look at. The little town was beautiful and the water was awesome. What a blast, can't wait to go back!

Stopped in to buy a few flies and get a little local knowledge on my first trip to dish the quality waters below the damn. Had a wonderful conversation with the proprietor, followed his advice on how to approach the river, and had one of thr best days fishing I've ever had. PB rainbows all day and dropped a real monster at my feet. Thank you so much!

Friendly Service?? The guy yelled at me and my son for pulling a hat off the wall to buy, then said I was lying about what a rod manufacturer told me. He literally followed us around the store like we were going to steal something. Never been treated so horribly. Prob why he had no customers the whole week we were around. Avoid at all cost. These other reviews are of someone else, or just flat fake.

Excellent fly shop with a large selection of flies, Simms waders and gear, tying materials, nets, and anything you need for a trip. They open early and stay open late, making it easy to visit the shop. Location to the Quality Waters makes things easy.

In this establishment for 5 minutes, mentioned we were interested in renting gear after lunchtime and old man at the register aggressively asked how he could help us after being very rude regarding exploring his store. Almost rented copious amounts of gear and bought pairs of sunglasses, but our money will be going to a store with a little more kindness and less aggression.

One of the best fly shops anywhere! For the beginner: great guide and gear options, plus a huge fly selection. For the experienced: A quality selection of lust-worthy gear upgrades, fly tying materials and larger nets. For the advanced: Flow rate and entomology effects on current conditions and fly selection. Added to this, Ray won't hesitate to sit down and show you how to tie his custom flies. This is the kind of fly shop we need more of!

Went in to get my license and some flys on the advice of a local i was working with. the guys working there were very nice and legit extremely helpful. Ended up booking a float trip with them, my guides name was rob been guiding on san juan since the 80’s. It was tough conditions and i stil managed to get 15.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I went to the shop to rent gear for my husband, brother, and father. My dad had called a few days before to check if I could rent the gear if I had all their sizes. The person he spoke with told him it would be okay. When I got there, one gentleman had asked if he could help me, I had said I needed to rent some gear for my family. The guy behind the counter, interrupted and said that he doesn't rent gear to anyone who is not there. I told him that was not what my dad was told. The guy was EXTREMELY rude! I would not take my business to him ever! If I were a male, would he have treated me that way, probably not! It's one thing to not rent gear to someone, but it's another thing to be spoken to in a condescending manor! Went to Duranglers in Durango and had much better customer service!!

Being new to the river any intelligent fisherman knows to go speak with the local Fly Shop. They helped me find a few things. The prices were cheaper then mostly everywhere I know. Plus those few tips you get from local shops are what get you the gems of the river!! I will definitely go there every time I go to the San Juan!!

What a wonderful selection of everything in this shop! He was putting together some hooks and other item when we walked in. Everything you need is right here! He is a great help! My Family and I picked up quite a few items from here! We will be back when we are up this way again!

I hate to write my first bad review but my experience here was absolutely unacceptable. Hands down the WORST experience I have ever had in any fly shop. I went in to buy some gear and the owner (only one working) not only didn't have what I was asking for, but then proceeded to tell me I was wrong in wanting the gear I was asking for until I told him why I specifically wanted it. He was rude and short and gave me a nasty attitude the whole time and when I asked what was wrong and why he was having such a bad day he said it was because he was late for meeting. Well that, to me, is no excuse to treat your customers with disrespect. Abe's and Fish Heads have always been kind and helpful. You do not treat customers based on the day you are having. EVERY customer that walks through your door is TRYING to spend money.

This place has a great fly selection and the owner was extremely helpful in picking the best flies for the day for the holes we were fishing! Great store! Great Service! I will always come here first when I fish the San Juan!

I bought a wood net from this location and way over paid. 150 yards down the road at Abe’s Fly Shop the same exact dam net is $32.00. I felt like an idiot. I was losing valuable fishing time to return the net, so I just kept it. I am not coming back to shop here but felt the need to share my experience. This is so you don’t throw your valuable money away. Two stars for the effort of being a small local business but minus three for ripping me off.

I just love the Float 'n Fish. It's an awesome little piece of fishing heaven. The owner is very nice and knowledgeable about fishing the San Juan, so stop in and check it out you'll be glad you did. Thumbs-up 👍 all the way around in my opinion.

This place couldn’t have been more rude I was simply walking around the store and then got verbally assaulted by ray, he lost a lot of money just because of his attitude. Also his mustache is trash and discusting

I was treated rudely by this business owner. I don't know anything about his business but, I know how to treat people. He apparently does not.I am a 68 year old great grandmother who asked to use the bathroom. They have a porta-potty outside. Our guide had told us that they had an inside bathroom. When I asked to use it, he said no, you can use the porta potty. I told him, I had been told ladies could use the the inside facility. Again, he insisted that I could use the outside one. He was cold & rude about it.When I came inside again with our fishing guide and asked could I use it now, his demeanor changed, saying he was sorry, it was out of order.. Then he threw in " it's not a public restroom". So, which is it, not working, private or a case of "I didn't think you were a customer??My belief is that is the latter and not very nice.
